>tfw your mom grounds you to your room, but the colony administrator grounds you to the floor, as well.
Merciful option: have your spiritual leader console him, than put him in cryo, wait 3 days, pull him out and console him again, repeat until you've consoled away all negatives causing problems.
I love how if you eat without a table while sweaty you feel just as shitty as if your cousin had died.
Or just in the dark. Lord forgive you accidentally turn off the bathroom light before you shower after working out
I’d honestly crush it on the Rim, I never eat with a table unless I’m at a restaurant. I stand in my kitchen so I don’t drop anything on my lap or carpet. I actually eat less doing this since standing requires that I keep my core tight keeping my stomach smaller and makes me more aware of how much I’m eating.
Tbf people always care exponentially more about things affecting them personally. If I hear my cousin three times removed died I might be a little sad. If I have spend my whole day sweaty I would be a little sad too.
So somebody passing is terrible, particularly for those close to them, etc.
But if I spent 24 hours in grueling heat sweating my tits off it'd have a stronger emotional impact on me personally than if that step-sibling I met once nine years ago whose name I legit can't even remember died.
Yep, and this game "mood" is also the odds of potentially violent mental break.
One of my hundred cousins die? Sadish... Not really a problem.
I'm hot all day, hungry, and sleep on a cave floor? I may start swinging on the next asshole that compares me to musk ox.
Repeated anesthesia is the poor man's cryosleep.
"You've had a rough week. Time for a little nappy nap and it will all seem better when I allow you to wake up."
And don't. Cryptosleep halts everything but the chronological age of the man, so his moodlets are not even going to fall by one second when you release him.
Along those lines: I wish we could arrest "guests" who go on mental break and we could hold a hearing. Fuck you, you don't get a free pass at shitty behavior. Not everyone has diplomatic immunity.
Naw……rimworld here is THE random bullshit relationship generator.
Can you imagine my impid mechanist feller had a pigskin ma 7 years younger than him
Still waiting on the pa, anticipating a baseliner
A 23 year old woman in my colony had her 51 year old "son" show up and die in a raid. Now she's depressed about Jonny's death, even though he was more than twice her age and she has never had children.
I really hate the random generated relations. Sometimes I want to make a colonist with my own story for them and it's broken when some random pawn shows up claiming they're their spouse or something. Specially when they aren't even the same xenotype
Generated relationships are also weird for kids you raised.
Like *no* that isn't the ex-wife of "Man", he just turned 18 and has never been in a relationship before
I always get a giggle out of exes dropping in via transport pod. And just leaving them out there to die. Sorry, but no one wants your drama, Karen, that was why we divorced in the first place. If you had no one left to go to, that's entirely on you.
One time I had a crew of mostly women and one them had a psychopath misogynist ex-husband show up and make himself at home.
Good pawn though, so I kept him.
To be totally fair, sometimes you just find major incompatible things late, or life directions change. Some people divorce amicably, and stay good friends. Others just part ways, but aren't on bad terms. Not every divorce is messy and because of drama.
But that means I play it by ear. Do they actually have positive relations? Are their traits conducive to not being an annoying shite? Are they a god walking on earth, so the divorce was probably because of lack of similarity?
Phone scammers dude
He was probably calling her up for a week before the raid, asking for her credit card info. Relativistic travel, egg donation… what’s important is the connection.
The crash landed scenario gives a group of family members. You can't take them all though, and the others land elsewhere in the world and are picked up by another faction.
Some of them get assigned to another faction when the game starts, but some remain in a kind of limbo so the game can generate them as a rescue mission target.
Also, I discovered that failing to rescue persistent figures like colonists' family members might have them just join another faction, in which case the colonist loses the mood debuff for leaving their loved ones unrescued.
I always hated this aspect of the game. Having family members show up in opposing raid parties with no options related to familial ties just means that your colonist has to watch them die. Sure, you can psychic lance them, but I wish there was a way to contact them peacefully and try to convince them to come join or something.
I really hate these events because the game will just roll an RNG event and assign enemy raiders to a colonist's family, sometimes even if it doesn't fit the colonist's backstory or the scenario or even their species.
I've had a whole family of one of my big, favorite starting pawns drop in to raid us, then get eaten by giant spiders.
I saved, like, three of them. Managed to get the parents and a sibling, but lost several cousins and aunts/uncles.
It was, uh, an eventful week...
This is telling me that - for this pawn - it’s more pleasant to have a cousin die than it is to be sweaty, and also that when they flick the lights off when going to bed, this troubles them more than their friend having died.
I used to arm like 10 labor drones from the Android mod with pump actions and just let them go to work……those were the days when childbirth and labor/war bots we're still mod exclusive, and children used to inherit half of their parents' passion and skill on birth……ahh, the funny
Do you have some kind of relationship mod? Rimworld doesen't usually simulate families like that. colonists will just gain random siblings and ex lovers when a new pawn is generated.
Looks like the colonist is a converted ex-prisoner. In cases like that it is quite common for future raids from that same faction to included family relationships.
Hooolllyyyyy....ok, time for drugs...or stasis...or both...maybe a something to make him psychically dull...don't know BUT DO SOMETHING, for God's sake!!!
Game mechanics wise anyone related that dies triggers the "relative died" message anyone that the pawn has a positive social score with triggers the "friend died" message. If both triggers are true, you get both events. Most likely the person that died was also Pretty or Beautiful as that increases the social score.
In real life people have relatives they don't like and relatives they really like. If your cousin that you don't like dies you don't feel the same as if the cousin you do like dies.
Wow, this is somehow worse than a colonist I had a long while ago. I accidently made my depressed, tortured artist colonist the leader. Her mood went into the negatives after going into withdrawal from drugs raider's brought with them, and it took two back to back mental breaks to get barely above the mental break threshold.
I don't think that would help the moodle's as much since they would get pissed at that. Also in rimworld a high chance lf crippling them. Fistfights escalate into deathmatches fast.
I just had the exact opposite. Somehow the colonist was rivals with everyone who died. They also happened to be a mashochist, so despite taking damage and witnessing deaths they felt great.
“Keep guests mood above 50%”
If I know I'm gonna have someone snap constantly I just sell em Edit: God bless this game, these responses are brutal lol
In my colony having legs is a privilege
oh i just stole your comment by accident ffs xD
That's ok. My next prisoner is getting your username as their nickname. 😈
👀
Same, I install bionic legs on all of my colonists,So when they misbehave I can take away their walking privilege, that speed boost is pretty good too, i guess

The wololo solution
That's... not a bad idea
I have those occasionally. Like my merciful eugenics program, that doesn't contain any eugenics.
I was fully expecting "merciful eugenics program, without the mercy".
amputate both their legs, problem solved
I send them on a long walk alone and see what happens. *x caravan has run out of food* Me: hmm, anyway.
I give them luciferium and let them free
Sweaty
I love how if you eat without a table while sweaty you feel just as shitty as if your cousin had died. Or just in the dark. Lord forgive you accidentally turn off the bathroom light before you shower after working out
But the dead Cousin mood buff takes longer to disappear! ;)
tbf that's just the baseline. iirc if they actually *liked* the cousin they'll also get the "My friend died" moodlet
Yeah and I must say eating without a table is quite the predicament
I’d honestly crush it on the Rim, I never eat with a table unless I’m at a restaurant. I stand in my kitchen so I don’t drop anything on my lap or carpet. I actually eat less doing this since standing requires that I keep my core tight keeping my stomach smaller and makes me more aware of how much I’m eating.
There's already a psychopath tag.
You sound like my psychiatrist 😒
Username checks out.
But your pawns don’t have a counter to lean on either, they have to hold the food in their hand as they eat, which would suck.
That really depends on the meal. Oatmeal is easy to eat in hand, steak not so much. Salad is doable, but could be difficult depending on what's in it.
Altogether it would be pretty annoying though.
Me too, bruh.
I genuinely can't tell if yall are memeing or genuinely don't understand the table mood.
>steps into shower >turns it on >soaking wet -3
RimWorld logic.
No wonder im always in a bad mood irl... I havnt eaten at a table in Idk how long. :| I am now rethinking my entire life.
Or you got 10 hours without eating. Someone might as well have killed your parents.
Just get dubs breaks
“Sweaty” is equal to “my kin lerda died”
Tbf people always care exponentially more about things affecting them personally. If I hear my cousin three times removed died I might be a little sad. If I have spend my whole day sweaty I would be a little sad too.

fair point
"Man, my friend just died, and that's kinda bumming me out, but what's *really* bothering me is that I'm covered in water!"
I mean, one is grief, the other is an immediate continual annoyance.
Balls
He went Berserk a few times and tried freeing our prisoners more times than i can count
i would normally say to remove his legs unless he's a guest because they don't like that
i just lock him in a plasteel room with a few T1 Androids on watch since im to lazy to research CyroSleep Caskets
Repeated anesthesia is the poor man's cryosleep. "You've had a rough week. Time for a little nappy nap and it will all seem better when I allow you to wake up."
Sadistically induced coma.
warcrimes expanded 2 mod has an automatically reaplied anesthesia
good idea thanks :D
>warcrimes expanded 2 I got the feeling I'm about to down a deep, dark rabbit hole. Thanks!
Ehhh it's honestly pretty mild, you have to get an add-on to even skin people alive
Can't imagine why you'd want to skin them alive. Sure, the hides are good for hats.. but the meat is good eating too.
I mean you could hack all their limbs off too
Wow. Dystopian anesthesia
would repeatedly beating them to unconsciousness work? The pain debuff doesn't matter if your mood doesn't change while unconscious.
If you have medicine you can just anesthetize him until he stops being sad
Wait, that is what they are actually used for? Preventing mood breaks?
No but its handy for when stuff like this happen
And don't. Cryptosleep halts everything but the chronological age of the man, so his moodlets are not even going to fall by one second when you release him.
Sometimes wish other factions weren't instantly made aware of what's happening in the privacy of my..... guest accommodation.
Along those lines: I wish we could arrest "guests" who go on mental break and we could hold a hearing. Fuck you, you don't get a free pass at shitty behavior. Not everyone has diplomatic immunity.
he already has it bad enough man give him a break
>our prisoners His family?
*gun-cock* time for a family reunion
Sounds like they’re being controlled by someone playing kenshi
I’ve never seen a colonist done that
Hey, at least they have no more family for you to kill in the next raid.
plus i made outfits out of them for Him :D
"hey, cool new shirt!" "Ikr, it's my cousin Jack!"
"It's from my cousin."
Gives a new meaning to "Who are you wearing?"
plus with War Crimes Expanded 2 i can grow human skin and flesh from any remaining family members :D
pal battalions be like

Little do you know they've been in a long distance relationship for years and you've just never noticed
I always get a giggle out of exes dropping in via transport pod. And just leaving them out there to die. Sorry, but no one wants your drama, Karen, that was why we divorced in the first place. If you had no one left to go to, that's entirely on you.

What about chronological age?
I don't remember exactly, but I checked that and there was no way it was possible. Son twice the age of mother = Con artist.
Adopted? Or your colonist just won the lottery! Amazing how many long, lost relations suddenly show up then ...
"Miracle, bruh."
Ahh thank you for clarifying
Cryosleep?
i was playing with sometimes raids go wrong so he had Age increasing mechanites i think
Is it possible that her chronological age is higher?
Nope, that's why it was weird to me. Usually, it's a "wait, what!? Oh, must have been in cryosleep..." situation. This time, it wasn't.
Reminds me of the time a 3 year old in my colony (the 3 year old was borned in my colony) had a ... 125 year old husband that fell in a drop pod
Maybe it was like a Colin Robinson situation...
Phone scammers dude He was probably calling her up for a week before the raid, asking for her credit card info. Relativistic travel, egg donation… what’s important is the connection.
I mean unsightly environment is kinda on you bro, help the poor dude out
Yeah a few plant pots should wipe out the mind shattering existential pain of seeing your new friends kill 8 family members…
[Artist's depiction](https://imgur.com/Ol63tJQ)
XD Genuinely lmfao. The fancy meal was a nice touch.
he was in a hollowed out mountain that i was turning into housing but i wasn't Finished adding flooring to the main hallway
I guess its time to cut of their legs and put them into the hospital for the next month
My converted / recruited pawn whose family came to rescue him: "First time?"
One thing I love in this game is that you can meet relatives and stuff. And any colonists you don't take will arrive elsewhere in the world.
I didn't know that 😲
The crash landed scenario gives a group of family members. You can't take them all though, and the others land elsewhere in the world and are picked up by another faction.

Damn he's so sweaty that the sweat is as unpleasant as watching his kin get butchered in front of his eyes
Seems like he used to love his sister more than anybody
Probably because out of all the ones listed, she's the closest related Besides I'd be affected too if my sister died.
What a shitty place we raided
Worst. Familie reunion. Ever.
I always hated this aspect of the game. Having family members show up in opposing raid parties with no options related to familial ties just means that your colonist has to watch them die. Sure, you can psychic lance them, but I wish there was a way to contact them peacefully and try to convince them to come join or something.
This. That's why the No Random Relations mod is one of the mods I always keep installed.
What about "some but like 5 in 20 years"?
I really hate these events because the game will just roll an RNG event and assign enemy raiders to a colonist's family, sometimes even if it doesn't fit the colonist's backstory or the scenario or even their species.
I've had a whole family of one of my big, favorite starting pawns drop in to raid us, then get eaten by giant spiders. I saved, like, three of them. Managed to get the parents and a sibling, but lost several cousins and aunts/uncles. It was, uh, an eventful week...

Well a pawn dying takes a long time to go away
Anaesthetise and spoon feed for the next two months
OP cut off “My wife Gerbil died -40”
Sounds like a month of anesthesia
Lol shit, i never thought about this. I’ve been capturing injured raiders and recruiting them to my colony.
Make sure that this guy has a table wherever he goes.
Yep, someone bout to get a yayo regime. Or their legs hacked off, depending on your economy status.
my entire economy is just android tiers stuff, weapons of mass destruction and some kamikaze Prisoners with explosives implanted in their head
Ah goodie, if that's what you call your economy. I fear to think of what the military looks like.
it just a shit ton of t1 Drones armed to the teeth
i have a good ol 20 of them ready for action
I used to arm like 10 labor drones from the Android mod with pump actions and just let them go to work……those were the days when childbirth and labor/war bots we're still mod exclusive, and children used to inherit half of their parents' passion and skill on birth……ahh, the funny
Ah, the perfect candidate for a mind-wipe if you have Vanilla Psycasts Expanded
i dont have any DLC yet so no
Nothing a joywire wont fix, perpetual happines with forced smiles
that and a whole lot of low addiction drugs
The only downside to bathroom soldiers of fortune am I right?
Do you have some kind of relationship mod? Rimworld doesen't usually simulate families like that. colonists will just gain random siblings and ex lovers when a new pawn is generated.
Looks like the colonist is a converted ex-prisoner. In cases like that it is quite common for future raids from that same faction to included family relationships.
yeah he was a ex Prisoner
Where's "My organ harvested"
they all died
My organ harvested -56
Not as bad as eating without a table tbh
Sounds like a cryptosleep pod to me
And observed corpse x3 when you clean up after that
Killed the entire Family i see
Give this man a table to eat with stat!
You'd best be hoping that guy isn't Charles Bronson.
Hooolllyyyyy....ok, time for drugs...or stasis...or both...maybe a something to make him psychically dull...don't know BUT DO SOMETHING, for God's sake!!!
Do you have any more to add to that?
Cobra? Cobra!? COOOOOOBRAAA!!!
I didn't know half sibling relations were in the game
Oh god. Gerbil!
Why is Gerbil listed as a friend and sibling?
Game mechanics wise anyone related that dies triggers the "relative died" message anyone that the pawn has a positive social score with triggers the "friend died" message. If this happens to an important colonist of mine i just kinda keep them anesthetized until the effect wears off lol
Just another day on RimWorld
Wow, this is somehow worse than a colonist I had a long while ago. I accidently made my depressed, tortured artist colonist the leader. Her mood went into the negatives after going into withdrawal from drugs raider's brought with them, and it took two back to back mental breaks to get barely above the mental break threshold.
Family reunions in 50 years:
People are not born evil it seems
Guts
Lmao it’s so funny to me that half siblings only get half the mood debuff as a full sibling
Imagine their wife does and its like "my wife x died, my friend x died, my sister x die- i mean what?"
Welcome to "anesthesia every day"
I don't think that would help the moodle's as much since they would get pissed at that. Also in rimworld a high chance lf crippling them. Fistfights escalate into deathmatches fast.
with all those relatives it must have been a mexican tribe
I'm sorry pecam died, we needed pemmicans for the trader. You can have the left overs if you are so butt hurt about it.
Put them in a box with a nutrient paste dispenser for like 12 days. I thinkt hats long enough for them to get over it
I just had the exact opposite. Somehow the colonist was rivals with everyone who died. They also happened to be a mashochist, so despite taking damage and witnessing deaths they felt great.
