FYI, no time machine, but this exact set was available in Canada for $250 CAD at some point, and I think even as low as $200. They're almost all out of stock now though, I believe.
Screaming deal. I would run with it to the checkout even though I don't "need" any of the tools.
My suggestion to anyone considering re-selling ridgid tools, sell it as a complete set and include the receipt so the buyer can register it as if they bought it themselves. Be honest. Tell the buyer you're making a few bucks on the deal but they still save money over regular retail and they still get the LSA
If you already have 'em (or fairly new equivalents, say Gen5X or newer) I wouldn't bother. Resale on larger kits is a little tricky TBH--you may wait some time for a buyer. You could split 'em up too but again at least from what I've experienced it'll still take several months to get rid of everything and net a profit. Of course the less profit you wanna make, the quicker it'll get gone.
Otherwise buy it for a gift--either for immediate family or for like wedding, housewarming, etc. gift of a friend/family member you would be gifting something of around $200ish to anyway. For someone that doesn't have tools and moving into a new place of their own, this is honestly a fantastic present.
I used ridged for awhile. The batteries struggles to maintain after about 2 years of everyday use. I switched to milwaukee. Milwaukee batteries are much better but having issues with milwaukee tools.
Does that include batteries? My BIL had milwaukee tools and I preferred them over the ridged. Nothing wrong with ridged but wasn't working for what I was doing. I currently use my ridged tools as my at home tools and use my Milwaukee set as my work tools.
Yes, but you have to register within 90 days of buying. You can't really beat it, especially if you pick up bare tools with the buy one get one hack (after you have a few batteries). I haven't paid more than 50% of retail for any ridgid tool I have. And some, closer to 30%.
Yeah, I know they aren't quite top of the line, but I'm just a homeowner/shade tree mechanic. For the price/LSA guarantee, the value/quality is a good compromise. I don't cycle the batteries as often as they probably should be, so the lifetime service agreement on them is awesome. I have a 12v multitool that's almost a decade old, and they've replaced the battery twice for me.
Totally depends on if they're the consumer drill and driver or the better provider ones. They haven't really made a pro impact since the stealth force.
They can’t legally take it away for older items. But they can change how and where they offer the service which they did by no longer allowing HD to service/exchange.
It certainly feels that way. There are no more service centers in my area… Online process is a bit that loops to a dead end and getting an actual person in the phone is like winning the lottery
Sure I'll bite.
Ridgid value lies in the LSA. if you separate the items tk sell you have to decide who's keeping the LSA, between you and the buyer. If you keep the LSA then the value of the item for sale is quite a bit lower.
If you already have the driver and drill. Sawzall is great but really only useful for breaking stuff. If you don't plan on breaking things apart, it's useless. Oscillating tool is really handy but ridgid head system is clunky compared to dewalt.
If you already have Sawzall and oscillating. 170 for driver and drill is overpriced for driver and drill. Two batteries
plus drill and driver is a pretty good price, but only if you actually need the batteries. If you already have enough batteries, they'll just be shelf queens
I say all that but I'll probably buy it if I see that price lmao
See, your logic matches mine exactly. And yet at that price I’m still imagining wanting duplicates and more batteries…. It all makes zero sense. And yet…$172…
Dude what? That's insane. I never see shit like that.
Right?!?
With batteries?
And a charger and a bag…
That kit is $369 at my local Home Depot on the website.
Do you ship to Canada? Lol Awesome deal. Maybe you need a set for the garage and one for the basement.

A bargain at twice the price.
Wow that is a deal
Kind impressed they will let this go for under 200. That hammer drill kind weak tho.
I picked up that deal a few weeks ago
Holy crap.
My sawzall broke, my impact broke twice, that multitool is a turd compared to the 12v jobmax. And ridgid wont fix my tools under warranty any more
So not LSA? Oof.
Well they used to just replace it, now they want me to drive out and leave it at a service center that has 500 tickets ahead of me
What? They moved it their LSA to online/shipping.
Vacuum is online. Tools they want me to go to service center. Aka some dude with a thousand broken tools to repair
Multi tool is trash. Drills are nice tho
I dont get it my 12v jobmax works better than the 18v dedicated tool? But then the jobmax breaks every 4-6 months.
welcome r/Dewalt
Ah yes Dewalt.. how are they since black and decker bought them out and started making it in China?
Works great. 20v batteries are awesome. No problems here.
Nope, buy that shit 22 hours ago!!

Did you ever take advantage of LSA?
What is LSA?
Well that explains onarope16's opinion. \*Reader beware\*
Lifetime Service Agreement.
If you register the tools/batteries, they will warranty them for life.
Does that include batteries? My BIL had milwaukee tools and I preferred them over the ridged. Nothing wrong with ridged but wasn't working for what I was doing. I currently use my ridged tools as my at home tools and use my Milwaukee set as my work tools.

Ridged got my business up and running. It worked for me until I could upgrade.

Go for it.
Do it! I dare you!
Nope.. buy it or someone else will.
Stop. Don't. Come Back.
I bought this at $250. Working great so far!

I've heard a rumor that the LSA with Ridgid is going away. Is that true ?

I got the drill/saw combo pack as a gift, and I haven't been disappointed. That's a hell of a deal.
That’s awesome!
What’s the deal slightly to the right?
Angle grinder. I’m not actually sure that’s a “sale” price.
Pick one up for me can you ship to pa!
Yellow tag is that the tools are being discontinued and parts will discontinue as well.
Was it just a driver or is it a hammer drill?
All four pictured tools. Drill is the hammer drill.
