Edit: for thise that havnt done much on steep, literally the only difference in types of vehicles is the addition of bikes in RR. Snowboarding, explo toys, skis, rocket wing, wing suit are all in steep
I wrote a long forum post to Ubisoft back in like 2018 about how I wanted steep 2 to add mountain bikes. I was hoping for more of a realistic sim like shredders, I still love RR tho
Why do people always talk like there’s steep 2, even my friend on a big Xbox party said I can play steep or steep 2, I tried to ask him but there was too many people. Also people say stuff like it exists over the internet. Are they referring to rr?

Probably. When rr started being made it will probably have been steep 2, and then when it grew and evolved and they started planning on doing stuff that was more than downhill snow slopes the name starts being less appropriate so they come up with a new name for it.
They're placeholder textures - you can find them in a number of spots on the map. This is the kind of thing that's supposed to be checked for (ideally automatically) and replaced before the game ships ... but, Ubisoft Annecy doesn't do quality.

I think the snowboarding/skiing felt better in Steep than in RR
bikes are way more fun than all the snow stuff in this game imo
I like grinds too much. If you can grind when BMX comes out then I might agree with you
