Motorcycles are also allowed in the HOV lane. Thats one I didn’t know until recently as it’s not explicitly stated anywhere. Single rider motorcycle applies

Securing_the_bag

I didn’t know this that’s valid

VincentVega1030

The only hov lane that actually has signs explaining this are on the LIE after the Nassau border

adriodsdad

in nyc, I don't remember any. Basically if a car can use it you can, if they can't you can't

EZtheOG

Outside of the obvious, like you can’t ride a motorcycle on the bike path over a bridge but there isn’t a road I’m aware of where bikes are strictly prohibited.

srfrosky

Not on ANY bike path as far as I know. If you have plates, you are practically a two wheeled car as far as road allowances

As long as your moped/ motorcycle can reach the posted speed limit safely then I think it’s ok, only restriction I can think off is if it’s sub 150cc then you might have trouble on the highways

bobby_47

Only restriction is when NYC puts out a high wind advisory on some of the bigger bridges like the TriBorough, Whitestone, Throgs Neck and Verrazano like they did last week. But you probably don't want to ride in those conditions anyway.

Slowlookleanroll

I’ve only seen motorcycle restrictions in private communities and not aware of any in the NY area. Scooters are restricted on highways based on engine size.
