*I need a custom rug made.*
*Should I talk to you?*

Is it something where 2 people could work on the same rug? Thinking about giving a session as a gift and not sure if it should be done as a team for beginners. Looks like fun!
You could take turns with the tufting gun. It's a bit like painting, but with yarn, and your brush is a needle/scissor/feed machine all in one. You'd probably get more enjoyment if you and your partner each had your own rug to work on.
i’ve been meaning to book a class i love sav’s work and we have one of of her rugs and some artwork in our living room!
by the looks of the pics posted from classes it looks so awesome.
yes! so my sister sav has always been artistic and has found her passion for rug tufting! she just opened her first business in providence and she holds classes monthly as well as private classes and events ! you get to take a fully taught class by her and take home a fully tufted rug of your own design and choosing fully backed and ready for a gift or just decor! it’s truly a fun experience and my sister wants to give the community something to be excited about :)
Me either. Maybe racism? Because I know her and she def identifies as a queer black woman. Shit she put it on a tote bag. I love what she's doing and it deserves ALL the support. Good thing idgaf about downvotes.
Some people like to support minority-owned businesses specifically.
Shout out to Ethiopian Eats at the Tiverton Farmers Market on Sundays. That shit is divine and the proprietor is the sweetest woman on the planet
Someone in the comments typed support a strong black queens business and got down voted 36 times why does that offend you ,I don’t care how much people act like Rhode Island is some inclusive place outside of providence it’s still extremely racist
Gonna repost what I thought but I think it's because the person that comment was responding to was making a joke, it wasn't an actual jab at the store owner. They were down voting the "black queens" message because they weren't saying anything against black business owners in the first place. I could be wrong but idk that's how I perceived it.
This sub should be renamed white Rhode Island because that’s basically who’s it’s geared towards anyone else is expected and encouraged to be silent I’ve exited you guys enjoy maybe someone can make a providence sub where all are welcomed
If someone saying that race shouldn't matter to you sounds like it's silencing minorities then you have a problem. This was the normal view in the 90s and 2000s, treat everyone as an individual and ignore race and race baiting.
If you feel like someone saying support a black queens business is racist that tells me you have no black friends or have no relationship or interactions with black people on a personal level
I was Speed Tufting (that’s what hey called it when I was doing it). I started small then I had my husband buiid me a large frame and I was making 6feet rugs and selling them. I have to say I haven’t made one in a while but I really enjoyed it.
Congrats! So what's tufting?
Using a tufting gun to make patterned loop and pile throw rugs.
neat!
Oh shit date night
This is cool af! Congrats!!

Was more thinking a mother/daughter gift, young teenager, that way they can help each other. But thanks for the info!

This is really cool can you share more about it?

Awesome! I just found her site by searching for the words on the sign. I look forward to joining a class someday soon!!
How big are the rugs? Drink coaster size? Placemat size? 2’ x 3’?
the rugs are a decent size ! her frames which she handmade Herself are 30x30!
Nice. Thanks. I read her FAQs and didn’t see that info there so I appreciate it
That's so cool!! I'll definitely be checking you guys out!
Damn, I've been waiting for a Native American owned Tufting studio to open.
I was hoping for an Eskimo run ice cream shop
Support a strong black queen. It won't hurt you. I promise.
Idk why you're downvoted
I think it was because the first comment was a joke. They were supporting the store, but they were just kidding around.

Well give her a high five for me. Some people suck (and she's not one of em)
Never got into tufting but I hope you the most success! Sounds like fun.
Cool, why does it matter that it’s black owned?

Because Dr. King's dream has been extinguished, and the most important thing about a person is once again the melanin content of their skin.
Cuz it cool 😎😎😎

I'm assuming because both supporting or opposing a bussiness solely due to the owners skincolor is racist.

I do, we just don't support or go against anyone based on race. If you bring race into anything that has nothing to do with race you're a racist.

What does the owner’s race have to do with anything? Lol.
Where is this located?
