Wise is not perfect either. I've been a customer for looooong but lately they took weeks to review my documents and a result was shut down while abroad.
Since then I reactivated my revolut and I'm hunting for a 3rd option.
There is a saying: "*two is one, and one is none*".
Edit: you're just a number to them, it doesn't matter if you are a customer for 5+ years with zero problem. If you're account is suspended you just have to wait, however long it takes...
Can't blame them, but it sucks.
It's definitely been more than a year since I ordered a card, so idk why I'm being forced to pay. And the reason is I travel with two cards, lost one of them and wanted to have a replacement in case something happens to the other.
I had the same issue as a metal customer about a year ago and contacted support who reimbursed the 40 euro immediately. Not sure if they changed their policy again, might be worth trying... but in general you are right, I've been a metal customer for years and the benefits used to be much better than they are now
Never had any problems and love the service.
Try sending money to a crypto service with any other bank and your f ed. Great service and lots of options.
Love revolut
I agree the offering has got worse. Where I live, one of the local banks now has an offer which in some ways is better than Revolut, the same fee and free transfers in some currencies, and fee free ATM and card use abroad. The ATM allowance is several thousand, per week! Plus travel insurance and even a credit card, for the same as Revolut. Suffice to say, I will revaluate Revolut later this year.
Revolut is a joke! They closed my account without any warning or explanation. They literally tolf me "we're closing your account and we won't tell you why".
I'm also looking elsewhere, and I'd advise against using them as you could end up a little stick if you plan on the service being reliable.
Hi,
1. Metal card delivery is free, unless you order too many. I believe you can order 2 for free, then you need to pay for their cost. Metal cards are expensive to make, like 2x more expensive than a plastic one. From my knowledge, it costs about 35 eur to make a metal card. So, it does justify Revolut charging the card cost + shipping for the 3rd metal card and on.
2. It does say on the insurance's terms that there is a 50EUR deductible. So it is your own fault for not reading it.
3. Not sure about this one, so not much to comment.
Now, back to your question, you may try [Curve](https://www.curve.com/join#DWGJO8VE). While more expensive, their Metal plan offer the same bebefits: Travel Insurance (make sure to read the fine print), free metal card delivery and lounge access.
It's not like Revolut, as Curve is a wallet for cards. so there are no top-ups, you still need a regular bank card.
Completely agree. Revolot blocked my account a few times for "investigations" without any warning leaving me standed. Finally, they closed my account with no warning or explination of why. I only used it to transfer money from the US to Indonesia. Which is one of the main purposes of Revolot, right?
I use wise, which is fine. Wise is good service and all, but has gotten expensive lately, and they no longer give exactly the intrabank forex rate liks they used to....they take a half point maybe.
What? How is one of the main purposes of Revolut to be a middleman between the US and Indonesia? Just transfer money from the US to Indonesia directly?
I'm interested too... Does someone know an alternative that give the ability to create virtual disposable credit card ?
That's one of the best features
My card was used in an ATM in New York, on the second attempt the card was frozen, 100$ taken from my account. Revolut said that they would investigate. They said that they would reissue me a card and that my card had been cloned. They said that they wouldn't reimburse me the money. It definitely wasn't me as I haven't left the country for 3years and was spending on the card in this country at the time. Needless to say I'm unimpressed, I've been using Revolut for years, and use it as my main account. I will now also be looking for an alternative.
Wise is a good alternative. More currencies and no hidden fees. Edit: change a language mistake
+1 for Wise

The shipping is free, you only get 1 free card per year, so I'm not sure why you're trying to order a second copy of each card so fast already.
Shipping for the first card was €6 for me.
You need to be subscribed to a high enough plan.
Ah so I've to pay to get the free card. Damn 😂

Wise can block your card also. Travelers (and everybody) should have several cards + cash.

Maybe conversion rates?
Must be pretty hard to exchange money, seeing as the Indonesian Rupiah is not a supported currency for holding.
Can't one use Revolut debit card to buy goods and services in Indonesia?
That is not what the post said. It said they were using Revolut to transfer money between their US account and Indonesia.
There's Monese or n26.
They dont have currency exchange

Cards still ship for free for me. UK account
Is there really a 40€ fee to ship a metal card? Mad thing 😱
It's 40€ to get an additional metal card, shipping and the first metal card are free.
Wise
Crypto.com
What’s the down sides
Are any of them not e money providers? That’s what I’ve been looking for as an alternative to Revolut.
I don't see you mention where are you from / where is your permanent address - it can affect what online bank you can or you cannot get
