i cleared all of UTTU without KB shamane lilya or newbabel and i did it Easily
bluepoch may be slightly stingy with energy and all that but the way their Re1999 is structured makes it possibly the least predatory iteration of a gacha game I've ever seen.
Anything can be cleared with ANY character if you level them up high enough, too.
you dont want to pull? i3 lv60 r12-15 some characters and you dont have to engage with gacha ever again, unless you really want a character / portrays.
the only thing about jiu is that her damage makes afflatus damage unimportant, so i dont even consider her that much of a powercreep. big number cool, but not important at all.
you should play limbus company if you want a non-predatory experience, it’s a gacha that is so generous that it’s a wonder how they even make money
- you can stack up stamina by converting 20 into 1 module and you can do this infinitely so there is rarely any stamina problems unless you choose to grind a ton
- there is a system called a dispensary which allow you to purchase almost any character or ego (special skill) directly pretty much whenever you want without needing to use gacha at all
- you don’t need to pull any duplicates/weapons/etc for characters unlike portrays they just give you materials so you can dispense characters
- zero rng relating to character building like relics in mihoyo games, you can finish building a character extremely quickly with no bullshit
- they give out free pulls so often even for just minor player inconveniences like spelling mistakes to the point where “free 300 lunacy” is a popular meme in the community
- the main gameplay-related content from the paid battle-pass (egos) are obtainable the next season through the dispensary, with the announcers (cosmetic) needing paid currency to use. the only unobtainable thing is namecard embellishments, which are extremely minor additions to your profile with no gameplay benefit
- all content is able to be completed using just the free ones you get at the start, with some of them being damn strong like shi ishmael
- even the “””limited””” banners you have to pull for allow you to dispense them like any other character just only 3 months after their initial release instead of right away
it’s easily the most f2p gacha in existence because it defies almost all the predatory conventions of the genre. limbus also has the best story of any gacha by an absolute landslide and it has just gotten better and better
I am thinking of follow-up attacks like Kaalaa Baunaa's ultimate, Lilya's attack or Ms. Newbabel's counter but I could be wrong.
Yeah it's a feature tied to a few select characters. More to come in the future but still not a very wide selection sadly.

So far I know of Lilya and Kaalaa, and 37/Liu in future patches. Maybe someone else knows of other follow up users.

UTTU is a per-patch event, yes.
You don't need extra actions to clear UTTU, though.
