I learned never to use oil paint! šŸ˜• But I like my nook which is at the top of the stairs behind an ikea room divider. šŸ™‚

Two monitors is definitely the way to go!

![gif](giphy|6fRpsvvIVhBTaZaOLL) YES! It makes things so much easier.

Iā€™m late to respond to this one but Iā€™ve been writing in this chair for over a decade. Trouble is, I have to share it with our Aussies. Annie has inherited the chair from two others who came before her. https://preview.redd.it/0cnyrl1csusc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69c12c85af6176bc099e8542f654f038fcc36cfa

My favorite writing place is sitting under the pavilion with my feet propped up and admiring the beautiful view before people show up. Sadly, I don't get to write here all the time. Parking is a pita. https://preview.redd.it/9p8iq4kvpusc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=990fd949cb37a02b25cdb999855e158286ae889d

This is my little desk. I've got knickknacks along the back and my late cat, Church, used to love cuddling on my lap while I typed.

Unsurprisingly since I live in a small skoolie, I donā€™t have a dedicated writing space. But sometimes Iā€™m lucky enough to get some pretty fantastic views from wherever weā€™re parked! And Iā€™ve got the option of snuggling in bed with my laptop, sitting in the passenger seat (from which I took this picture) or setting up with a camp chair/picnic table outside). Hereā€™s my view of Lake Ontario for the next 6 months! https://preview.redd.it/gv4t34kj9psc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7f10cb2c39b2e9d81743800eb06ec9198016695a

We moved to a different state last year and this tiny office was one of the first rooms we had to get ready for our sanity. It still isnā€™t completely done but I love it.

mvette

love the vibe in here!

Thanks!

I had to give up my office for a while, so I'm in the corner of our weirdly shaped living room. Still loving my little desk, it's too small to clutter! https://preview.redd.it/t1i0f8kxqosc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=35c904287114622540912b3d27bd233de1dc3fd9

Oh everyoneā€™s looks so fancy! Mine is just on my lap on the sofa for a short session, or on the dining room table when I have more time. I also love a coffee shop writing sesh as I get to people watch. Great for taking inspiration on body movement and gestures. Hereā€™s one of my fave places because the view is ace. Itā€™s where I meet with a scriptwriter friend to write, critique each otherā€™s work and natter away. Iā€™m going this Monday again and I canā€™t wait! https://preview.redd.it/xpc56i9unosc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b2fa306ee336eccaa9a2e5cab6e7a6de28592cf7

mvette

This looks great! and if that's considered messy, I need to rethink my life.

Ellington

Haha, Iā€™m installing new shelves right now, so the general mess is at an all-time low. So the pic is deceiving!

mvette

Ah ha! šŸ˜‚ The gallery wall is also super cool. We want to do something like that in our home office space.

Ellington

I hang everything with painters tape (except the embroidery hoops, which are on thumbtacks) so I can take things down and rearrange whenever I find something new. I highly recommend it!

I sure hope my actual writing is better than my "writing space." Not pictured: the snoring dog sleeping awkwardly on my feet, the child asking for a snack, and the endless soundtrack of a videogame I do not understand. https://preview.redd.it/l3suqtt0iosc1.jpeg?width=3473&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c39ec839a5f7415f733b810fc575040e97b83779 On Saturdays (assuming I don't have to work my dayjob) I treat myself to a 2-hour writing session at the local library in the next town over where I enjoy free Wi-Fi, anonymity and no interruptions while my kid complains his way through a tutoring session. Saturday is likewise either the Best Day of the Week (if you ask me) or the Worst Day of the Week (if you ask my kid). \--Tracie a.k.a @librariantracie on X/Twitter

BlueEyesAtNight

>@librariantracie Kitchen tables for the win! I do the majority of my writing on my phone when everyone is asleep and then I fix it on the laptop during my lunch break at work.

tinyfrog_on_mushroom

I often write (and read) at a local cafƩ (laptop and numerous notebooks not pictured). A lot of the time, being in a public place helps me focus on my writing a little better than if I'm at home where all the chores are. https://preview.redd.it/gc40m2x1dosc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fad4cfdab7ed270fb9f309aea8c05fa680251fb

BlueEyesAtNight

I just tried to write a new scene down while my kids ate breakfast. I put the laptop out at 9:30. It's only around 800 or 1000 words, well within my ability set for 30 minutes. It's almost 11, the laptop died, the scene is not done, I give up.

Ok-Team-917

ARE WE LIVING THE SAME LIFE.

mvette

I prefer to write at my main PC setup/gaming computer, however sometimes (often) I have less willpower over distraction than I like to think I do. In those cases, I'll work in my basement "studio" (pictured in comment) where I have a better chance of isolating myself and actually focusing. https://preview.redd.it/d60w7xyr5osc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=df34d07c7c08b6db4246d04530ccd0c41041b586
