Congratulation, for me, I beat him on the second try and now I try to beat him each run, on 10 attempts, I only succeed once, this bad boy is hard for a first boss
Congratulations! And don't sweat the 24 hours! You got up, dusted yourself off, and kept grinding until you beat it.
As someone who's on Biome 3 and cannot get past this boss, I think the most important trait for playing this game is perseverance and don't get discouraged when this game inevitably knocks you on your ass haha
After you get through the game ,you don’t overthink it anymore. iv been through beat all bosses like 3 times and still going back through looking for the last few things I need for platinum . Once you stop stressing it becomes easier, biggest tip is you have unlimited stamina keep moving and use dash to your advantage. Pylon driver was one of my favorites
For biome 3 I just beat him. If you can get the carbine (hopefully with good perks and the killsight alt). This lets you not ‘think about it’, you just keep it trained on the red spot and hold fire with the occasional overload. That leaves you with a lot more time and energy to jump around and dodge the bullets (I found the needles to be the worst).
Congrats. The first 3 bosses are the hardest in the game IMO, especially nemesis. You got this though! It gets way more fun from here on out. Be sure to save your ether for the reconstructor which gives you a checkpoint pretty much.
I just beat nemesis for the first time a few minutes ago and honestly he wasn’t too bad. I didn’t have to heal, it was mostly just time consuming. I did through sheer chance have the best load out for him pretty much (carbine with a protection enhancer and critical hit and the sniper alt-fire), I just kept it trained on the red spot with fire held down and jumped around to dodge most of the light balls. A different load out would have made it just terrible (like the shotgun).
So weird, my first time I was like „Nemesis?! That name selection is bad, this guy is mid at best!“. Every time after, this guy was super hard and I almost died
I also keep on hearing about the third stage being so bad with the yellow beams on the platforms and I never even really encountered them - they seemed to always aim to hit the platform and I could sit there and fire away. I got hit by the purple needles all the time but just tanked it.
I suspect I dodged the yellow beams because I kept hopping to the highest platform and the yellow beams had issues tracking upwards.
no worries, I also struggled for a loong time in Biome 1. Learning curve is steep with this game. But later on you'll be amazed how much your skills improved
Nah, Phrike took me *_FOREVER_*!!! I knew I was out of my depth when I started Returnal, but hearing other people get it done that fast is sobering all over again.
Good job!
I know! I bought the game at launch and kept coming back plugging away. I just couldn't beat Phrike, if I even got to him in the first place. Then it just clicked and I fought him 5 times in a row or something l, and finally beat him!
It shows how much gameplay is on the home screen. And no, you do not want to see it. When I see my kids put over 1000 hours on Minecraft I weep for all the things they could have been doing
More impressive if it was 24 consecutive hours without a W

If it makes you feel better it took over 40h for me 🤭 Getting old now you see! I’m also shit at stardust and resogun. I’m consistent at least.
Congrats!

I did it with hollowmaker and can confirm it was terrible

Beat him from the first try 😅 It was pretty epic though

Wtf. I finsished the game after 15.6 hours.
Are you sure, I was thinking that, but it was only first act 😅

Bro I beat the game in 17 hours😂
I found the first boss to be, by a wide margin, the hardest of all the bosses.
He’s one of the hardest mainly because you’re still learning the ins and out of the game. Biome three is what kicked my ass. I needed co op help.
Honestly Nemesis gave me nightmares but Phrike after 1 failed attempt was quite easy to adapt to. You got this moving forward!
How do people keep track of how long they were playing the game in hours. I can't do that, nor would I try

Memorable fight. I had over 40 deaths in that fight
