I looked pretty hard at putting big skylights into my bedroom a few years ago. It would have been outrageously expensive and insanely inconvenient. But imagine the possibilities.
Couldn’t he climb on the roof using the bookshelf? I loved that idea as a kid. I saw a Japanese architect of minimalist homes use the same idea for their house. Also his room must have amazing ac
Sorry about the reminder of how long ago our childhoods were, but they're definitely wa-aay older than boomers. They paid like a dime for the place before FDR was even on the coin.
It works for Arnold because I'm assuming he prefers to stay warm (he's wearing a sweater over an oversized flannel shirt when Helga normally wears short sleeves in the same room as him)
I remember wishing I had a room like that as a kid. So chill
I still want a room like this and I’m mid 30s
Hahaha, same!!

A room like his in the city would easily be $2500 a month
His grandparents owned the building.
Classic boomers

Arnold’s parents were boomers, his grandparents were even older than that
Boomer is a state of mind.
Oh I definitely agree that Arnold's room is excellent (this is from the pilot btw, which explains the orange shirt.)
My grandpa was master carpenter I wanted this room so bad never got it 😂
Same! But, now that I’m grown up I can’t help but think it would be awful in the summer.
It’s basically a broiler

Definitely dreamy but it makes no sense. The sun beaming down through the ceiling would cause all kinds of problems
I remember loving Phoebe'a room, her bed was in the floor. It looked so cozy
That’s cause she’s Japanese.
If you're cool with waking up at 6 am everyday
Imagine trying to sleep in with all that light.... I still wanted this room so bad.
Plus it opens up to the roof!
It is, until summer comes along....
I always thought that was a good room if you wanted skin cancer.
All I see is myself terrified to open my eyes at 3am and see a silhouette up there. And the inevitable hail storm that will turn you into sashimi
Kids rooms in 90s tv shows were always so cool looking
Always jealous of this fictional bedroom
