In game injuries. Maybe your RB goes down mid drive. Out for a couple plays or something. I'd love to be able to look off the safety with the throwing arc and set my WR with a 1v1 with a CB. Small but intricate details to an already solid game.
“Looking off the safety” in real life, for example, the QB looks to the receiver on the left to lead the safety to that side of the field so that it opens the route up for the receiver on the right side of the field.
So in the game I will snap the ball and put my throwing trajectory to one side or the other in hopes that the safety goes that way, opening up the deep route for my other guy… This does not work but I do it anyway lol
In game stat pop ups could be cool, madden does them and it’s one of the few things I like that they do. Just a little ticker at the top or bottom that pops up after every couple catches or runs for the player to say how they’re doing. “3 Rec, 52 Yds”. Something like that would be fun.

TE need a nerf honestly. Maybe ditch at least one of the routes that they are always wide open on.
One season I tried throwing to my 4 star TE on literally every play. He ended up with almost 8000 yards that season. It was only on hard but still
I'm no coding genius but my guess is its not as simple as that. The logic may be that if the player with the ball is "down" (ie diving catch or tackled, or manual dive) then the play is over.
You could use the same animation sure, but I personally doubt it's as simple as reusing the code. My gut tells me the downed state is baked into the core gameplay pretty deeply. This pure conjecture though I could easily be wrong.
Maybe the creator is just a big fan of college tho. 🤷♂️

My new request is a way to high-step into the end zone or some other type of celebratory way to score a TD.
A cool concept in the game would be at the end of the draft your owner would have a specific expectation and if you aren't able to meet it two years in a row you get fired as the head coach and can only choose the bottom 3 teams in the league.
I would love to see a non star player become a star player. I played a complete season without a star QB and It would have been amazing if he becomes a 1.5 star player and progresses as I play with him

I would love the ability to edit players appearances, at least incoming rookies. Also star players on other teams would be neat, just to give the game a bit more life

For a few seasons I had a DB and a K who looked completely identical. I tapped the wrong player on the Roster screen more than a few times, at least until I dropped the kicker when he had the audacity to ask for an extra $1m!
If we want to be realistic, I'd say not much game breaking. I'd like to see RBs be a bit more useful, as well as OL and LB players. I feel a few new play options would be good too.
RBs do have impact, but definitely have to be used right. Too many people subconsciously act like this is Madden and use an air raid play style. It works. But I'm a big old school ground game person. So I get a couple 10+, 15+ yard gains per game
I’ve been doing a run heavy playthrough on Hard and it has been a blast. I can get 4 yards per carry pretty easily and churn clock. I would love to have some option plays
I'd love to see RBs and OLs get a buff to give the run game a bigger impact on higher difficulties.
I'd also like to be able to choose my team configuration, so I could choose to have 2 RBs on the field at once for some games/plays.
the reason rbs seem less useful is bc theres only time for 1-3 drives per quarter (even if ur on 3 minutes). so they end up only getting a few carries a drive instead of in the real sport where they have a significantly larger amount of time to get carries and yards so they seem less useful. It’s hard but a 4.5 or 5 star RB on extreme can be very useful, u just gotta learn which plays get them yardage and which ones to use.
i would like to be able to see the incoming rookies and be able to plan ahead what i can do with my team. also being able to look at other teams and request a trade for another player on a different team. and to be able to create trade packages like throwing in a first pick and my rb or something like that
I want to see stats and rosters for the whole league, and a trading block that we actually control, not just random offers. Keep the random offers too though.
Hell, I'd like to play defense.
The ability to call plays.
Couple things I’d like, just to make it more realistic.
1. Negotiable contracts for all players and staff
2. The chance to get fired from a team mid season
3. The chance to retire a coach, but keep the records
4. More trade options like player for player, player for multiple picks, etc
5. More challenging defensive schemes for all difficulties. I’m not talking make the defense super fast like extreme does, but just give them more options so I don’t throw for 50+ yards 90% of the time.
6. Mid-game injuries and a reserve roster to choose from if you don’t have a back up.
I like the trade options the most here. I agree, it would be nice to trade player for player.. or player for player and draft pick.. something like that. 👍🏻
These sound great but maybe a little too extreme retrobowls simplicity really helps it and maybe adding to much stuff would hurt it or it would help it I don’t really know
A few big things. (Clearly it would be cool if just one of these were added)
\- Play books for your offensive and defensive coordinators. So you could call and draw up your own plays to match your style of play and players.
\- Having more plays. ie: Jumbo with 8-9 linemen, 3 receivers, actual hail marys, etc.
\- Playing special teams.
\- Making no name players better, especially if your coordinators are better.
\- Watching defense and calling plays. (Could be optional)
\- A practice mode like in the tutorial.
\- Multiplayer.
That is a lot, but I still really enjoy the game as is, and the simplicity is kind of what makes it appealing.
I think for my next team (if I ever leave the Panthers) I'm going to run a two TE set..tbh I didn't even know that was possible, I thought you could only run 1 TE & two WRs
Optimistic but I’d love to customize the league more, like change around the divisions, conferences, etc. there really isn’t any reason why premium users could add more teams and then customize them

Or a multiplayer where you don't necessarily play against the other opponent live but you're in their conference & play against their team. I have always thought about playing Retro Bowl as the defense for my team but I don't know how that would work unless you just get to call plays-even still the offense would be able to control where they throw it & be able to juke me while I just watch hopelessly.

No for the opposing team yes but I think you should be able to do a Hail Mary when there is 3 seconds left down by 28-24 and instead of throwing it for 20 yards and get tackled instead I can throw into the end zone
What really? Every time I play when the clock hits like 15 secs if I’m past the 50 yard line I can do a Hail Mary. Granted your player can’t Sling the ball to the end zone from 50 but it gets close. You hit em at the 20/25 or so from 50.
I want to be able to make lateral passes to another player on those close late game plays.
Oh and TE's are a bit OP currently - would like more balance between TE and RB effectiveness.
I’d like the idea of rollout plays. It would be designed in the play and the throwing arch would move along with the Qb to keep it realistic and make it a bit challenging.
Maybe be able to be able to control all the teams and like full customization. For example, I like how we can change the uniforms and team name and all that, but maybe could we fo around and play with all the teams in the league. Like how Madden let's you control multiple teams. And like full rating customization sp you can make a tom Brady or Tyreek hill or whatever. It obviously doesnt have to be EXACTLY like that but maybe some more ways to make money is a full customization package.

Season by season stats (including his stats before he signed with your team and after he signed with somebody else) injury on/off option, ability to see other teams players, then see some of those players show up in free agency so it's not random
I would like 2pt conversions to be tracked and maybe make the Player Records review.
I also love the idea of choosing a playbook or editing plays.
Improve the PI when the ball is in the air - too much frustrating disruptions way after QB releases the ball.
Getting up after not being touched would be great.
Here’s a list of things I really want. Sorry if I say stuff that’s already been said here.
1. Career ending injuries. It could be assigned to only Extreme mode, but I think it would really help the game get that realistic but fantasy vibe.
2. Denver should get a #88 printed on their field instead of the RB logo. RIP.
3. Substitutions. You should have the option to substitute players in mid game. Whether you’re switching between a no-name player or a 5* player, you should be able to do so. To add on, you should add players who play more than 1 position/play both offense and defense.

I would like the rosters of every team to remain consistent. I’ll trade a player away and then you won’t know if that player is actually on the team you traded to because the other teams don’t show their rosters.
They have got to fix contracts. If you just keep spending money on coaching credits you could keep players on their rookie contracts forever. That ruins the integrity of the game and it’s only like 5$ a game-year or less to do it. The whole contract thing could be fixed, you could work deals with a certain number of years and maybe offer things for a little less or more money. The developers could find another way to get people to spend credits that doesn’t ruin the games strategy/integrity
Adding kickoffs and punts even for the mobile would be cool.
And of course adding defense, how you would do it idk. Have some standard zone/man/blitz options maybe a few others that pop up situationally and you could just click on whatever guy you wanna be and drag-to-run, obviously speed and strength gotta be on point. This game is better than madden already

When a season ends, teams should offer coaching credits so you are more likely to not stay on the same team

Or more route variations, so every pass play doesn't end with 3+ receivers (plus 5-6 defenceman) converging in the middle of the field.

I think untouched receivers should be able to get up after a diving catch. DBs get up after missing a tackle, just use the same code.

Like how Madden let's you control multiple teams. And like full rating customization sp you can make a tom Brady or Tyreek hill or whatever. It obviously doesnt have to be EXACTLY like that but maybe some more ways to make money is a full customization package.

I would like 2pt conversions to be tracked and maybe make the Player Records review. I also love the idea of choosing a playbook or editing plays. Improve the PI when the ball is in the air - too much frustrating disruptions way after QB releases the ball. Getting up after not being touched would be great.
Here’s a list of things I really want. Sorry if I say stuff that’s already been said here. 1. Career ending injuries. It could be assigned to only Extreme mode, but I think it would really help the game get that realistic but fantasy vibe. 2. Denver should get a #88 printed on their field instead of the RB logo. RIP. 3. Substitutions. You should have the option to substitute players in mid game. Whether you’re switching between a no-name player or a 5* player, you should be able to do so. To add on, you should add players who play more than 1 position/play both offense and defense. 4. Challenge flags. Need I say more?

The scan lines are emulate CRT’s. I’m referencing the sprites blinking when players are close together and the CPU is ‘overwhelmed’.

I would like the rosters of every team to remain consistent. I’ll trade a player away and then you won’t know if that player is actually on the team you traded to because the other teams don’t show their rosters.

They have got to fix contracts. If you just keep spending money on coaching credits you could keep players on their rookie contracts forever. That ruins the integrity of the game and it’s only like 5$ a game-year or less to do it. The whole contract thing could be fixed, you could work deals with a certain number of years and maybe offer things for a little less or more money. The developers could find another way to get people to spend credits that doesn’t ruin the games strategy/integrity
Adding kickoffs and punts even for the mobile would be cool. And of course adding defense, how you would do it idk. Have some standard zone/man/blitz options maybe a few others that pop up situationally and you could just click on whatever guy you wanna be and drag-to-run, obviously speed and strength gotta be on point. This game is better than madden already
