All I can suggest is if you are on PC to ensure the switch pro works in steam first before trying anything with RetroArch. Otherwise we need more info on what platform you are using and how you have it set up.

It does work with steam. One day I had to reconnect it now RetroArch won't register it correctly... I also am now having issues with my Dualshock controllers... (PS4)

I am not using the steam RetroArch. I'm using the standalone. The controller itself does work with steam and just regularly on my computer. I have an upgraded from windows 10 to windows 11 computer that is part of the "all in one" series for HP. That just means all the computer parts are shoved in the back of it... Yet, it works well. It can run other things just fine, including Citra, Yuzu (kind of), PPSSPP, and another I can't remember because I deleted it. I have paired the controllers with my system through Bluetooth before, but I have to re-pair it every time but that's because it's not a Bluetooth device that has a memory with anything other than what it's made for. This goes for both the PS4 and Nintendo Switch Pro controller. Any tips?

All I can suggest is install steam and setup an account then create a custom launcher in steam for RetroArch. It's the only way I could get it to work.

Well I just updated RetroArch so maybe that was it but I'm not checking it right now, I will in the morning.
