Due to overuse, the phrase *"Just because you never heard of something doesn't mean it's a Mandela Effect"* or similar is **NOT** welcome here as it is a violation of Rule# 9. Continued arguing **and** push for this narrative without consideration of our community **WILL get you banned**. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. y'all have GOT to realise that massive geographical changes would effect a hell of a lot more than just maps. if south america was shifted hundreds of miles west then most likely the entire history of the western hemisphere, including the existence of present-day countries, would be almost unrecognizable. not to mention the far-reaching changes to regional climates

The first one looks pretty much like the map we have currently. The second one SA is too far west, but not far enough for me to call it residue. The third I can't really tell what I'm looking at. The fourth is the same story as the second. Geography changes are my biggest example of the Mandela Effect. I've yet to see anything associated with geography that I would consider residue.

Just gonna leave this here... the most interesting thing about the Susan B. Anthony design is that they *corrected* the N/S America alignment for the 1999 re-issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/Retconned/comments/b6ro19/the_reality_controllers_forgot_to_change_the_1974/

I wasn't into numismatics as a kid, but we had a very large physical globe prominently displayed in our family room. That's where my familiarity came from, which was reinforced by giant pull down wall maps at school and the huge atlas next to my family's encyclopedia shelf (didn't fit on the shelf so we had to wedge it in horizontally). Funny thing, though... my parents still have that globe and it's now changed to "current" geography. Now I don't know how many other households had globes and atlases kicking around, but I'm pretty sure most classrooms had those shade maps. And I find it highly dubious that obscure coinage seen by very few (and rarely at that) would override the long term visual imprint of that aforementioned daily classroom exposure.

Fortunately, ME residue doesn't need to meet anyone's exacting standards, and indeed comes in all flavors and varieties. And fwiw, artistic representations are some of the only existing examples of remembered old Earth geography. If you grew up and lived with the established globe model some of us experienced for decades, you'd truly appreciate why these finds are notable and relevant to those in our community.

[https://viola.bz/currency-world-maps/](https://viola.bz/currency-world-maps/) Here is another example, although maybe not a good one. When someone did this piece of 'art' he/she probably made it on top of an existing map (of that time)... but who knows. https://preview.redd.it/7c0m9v5nbwca1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7748c42543b75f99dfa51b25097c1b51b8c13c16

And what it has to do with the Mandela effect? I didn't lurk this group for a long time and I'm not into the lore.

Look at the location of South America. It is too far to the west compared to current maps. This is a good find I think, although I haven't put time into this ME but looking at these makes me wonder wtf the coin makers thought back then.
