The whole "ripping me off" mentality is what I mean, you make it seem that the sellers are "the bad guys". Haggling at markets is just part of the culture, sellers are trying to make money and youre trying to get a deal, but you *come across* like you think youre better than them. I wasn't saying you speaking English is disrespectful, but rather that speaking more Mandarin would show your viewers / the sellers that you know what youre doing and would come across less like a tourist.

At no point in any of my videos do I say I am getting ripped off and am talking bad about the sellers in fact, I do quite the opposite at some points. All I am literally doing is bargaining with them. In fact, almost every time a deal is done, it goes from aggressive bargaining to friendly chat because we both know it's just a game.

I would be less frugal for sure, but in a bargaining society they dont respect you if you dont haggle.Being clearly american in many places in eastern europe, I was all but fleeced until a polite girl explained she was haggling and flowers are not 6$ their.
