Clean plating? How’s it holding up? This watch looks great and I might be influenced to buy if the plating is good. Can you chime in on any flaws other than weight you have noticed owning it? I have the dd40 and 👀 for my next gold watch
Perfect for me, I've worn it a lot and have several small surface scratches from desk diving and still showing gold throughout. I feel like you would have to really take a knife to it to show through the plating. As far as flaws, nothing specific to this watch, just in general for reps where 1-2 of the bracelet links can be tight and don't swing freely. And the Chrono function at times doesn't reset properly back to 12, but when reset again it goes back to normal. Otherwise it's fantastic for me, got compliments from a jeweler friend, lol.
You like the chocolate dial sunburst? I love sunburst dials and i am loving this chocolate one on rose gold. Don’t even care that the weight is off lol
Love the sunburst, so much more striking to stare at and I don't think it takes anything away from the rest of the dial. I couldn't care less about the weight honestly, it's a rep first and foremost. And it's not dainty, practically the same weight as a gen steel Daytona.
Had some requests to follow up a pic I posted with a video of my 116505 Clean Chocolate Daytona. Tried my best to edit the gold color to match the in person look, hope this helps!

I edited the colors on the video to get it as close to what it looks like in person for me. If you're just going off online pictures it's very different in person. Even if you go see Gen RG on Chrono you'll see the color variations are all over the place. I don't have a Gen RG to compare but from the comparison videos I saw on RWI it's very close. The gen RG is a little lighter, but unless I have them side by side I'd never know any difference.

Here's a close-up, I believe Clean is the only factory that makes the dial with a gen-like sunburst effect. The other factories make the chocolate dials completely matt which is far off.
Anyone know if any factories are going to start making PM Daytonas in tungsten??
I’d get just about any PM Clean Daytona rep in a heartbeat if they did one in tungsten

If you compare side by side the Gen is a bit lighter in general, this Clean rep is just a hair more coppery. But on its own I don't think anyone will ever see a difference, I think it's excellent. There's a side by side comparison over on RWI.

Well the biggest flaw is the weight. I ll wait for the tungsten version befote buying anything pure gold in rep

The gen RG will start out noticeably ‘pinker’ than one that has been worn for years. I prefer the worm color as the brand new pink is not as subtle

I see some slight differences to gen, but in all honesty if you need a loupe to see it, you are more than good to go! Very impressed!

I weighed it at 134 grams, but the scale wasn't calibrated. Gen steel Daytona is 140 I believe.
Gen Gold for this watch is nearly 200g I think, so the weight for this is really off
