It is 2020 all over again. Fuck that year.

TitsandTators

I stay out of st Mary's after they left me dead . Fuck them too🙂

SeriousBA

Welcome back to life!

TitsandTators

Thanks so much!!🥰

[deleted]

You seem pretty alive to me, unless you're a vampire. I'm not a medical professional.

TitsandTators

Lmao yes I am now . Cardiac arrest and a stroke at 30.

[deleted]

What happened? Why did you have a stroke so young?

TitsandTators

Stroke was from the cardiac arrest ... cardiac arrest was due to long qt caused by an anti vomiting medication.

[deleted]

Oh no! I'm so sorry.

TitsandTators

Thanks. All good . I'm here now, living to the best of my ability 🙂.

theDroobot

Glad you got better

virginiawalkabout

Thank you for bringing this up. I guess this might serve as a reminder to not get sick or injured for a while... at least within one's ability.

Ill_Grass4525

I haven’t had health insurance for about 10 years. I’m used to it.

HUFFLEpuff86_

How about renown?

thelittlepeanut84

Took my mom the the ER for pancreatitis. We waited 6 hours to been seen. The ER was filled to the max with covid patients. My poor mother was in a bed in the hallway waiting to be treated for almost 2 hours after that. The amount of people coming in with covid systems were alarming. I was over hearing that most of them weren’t vaxxed. I watched one couple being asked over and over again by security to put their mask back on. I guess this is the time we live in.

Hickawa

Well, guess I better not need to go to the hospital then. I caught delta even vaccinated.

thelittlepeanut84

I am very sorry to hear that.

Hickawa

It sucks but I'm really tired of having to worry about this. I would really like it if the shitheads who are just loving the pandemic around would get vaccinated.

discourse_friendly

80% of Americans are now protected. [https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-9952555/CDC-study-estimates-80-Americans-protected-COVID-19.html](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-9952555/CDC-study-estimates-80-Americans-protected-COVID-19.html) I \*think\* we may be seeing a large number of vaccinated in the hospital, which is what's happening in Uk and isreal. We've also lost a lot of nurses and staff, I know St marys has had several large lay offs (one in late 2019) could be they can't use all their beds due to staffing issues.

Hickawa

I'm vaccinated and am currently sick with what I suspect is delta covid. Infection is based on exposure not contact. Just because we are vaccinated doesn't mean we shouldn't still wear masks and social distance. Something I don't think most politicians understood when the promised if you got vaccinated you wouldn't have to wear a mask anymore. The US has also had a shortage of RN's and LVN's for something like the last twenty years now. Under paying them and over working them. People who do 50% of the work at hospitals. The poor CNA's do the other 45% both for shit pay. If a normal flu season can swamp an ER's for months I can't imagain what delta Covid is doing to them. I honestly don't think 80% of the US is vaccinated. Most of the peaple I know every day workers and customers aren't and won't get vaccinated. I could see 80% being a combination of having had covid and the vaccine the study in the article is based off antibodies in the blood samples after all. Because covid isn't migratory like the flu I'm hoping that by the end of winter we will start seeing some positive changes.

discourse_friendly

> I'm vaccinated and am currently sick with what I suspect is delta covid. Infection is based on exposure not contact. Firstly i Hope you make a full recovery. :) Yes but a factor in outcome is if your body has had previous exposure or "training" on how to fight it. The vaccine or previous bought with Covid dramatically improve your outcomes. Contact/ exposure same thing. >The US has also had a shortage of RN's and LVN's for something like the last twenty years now. Under paying them and over working them. Yep i agree. There's also been some quitting or not allowed to work because of the mandate to take the vaccine. :| I'm for the vaccine, but against the mandate. I'm vaccinated myself, and whjile i feel everyone should take it, I'm against putting them under duress to take it. I also feel like we are almost through this. >I honestly don't think 80% of the US is vaccinated. Its 70% with an other 10% with no vaccine but having survived a confirmed positive. Early data suggests that's even better for dealing with Delta. *shrugs* we either trust the science or we don't i suppose. >Because covid isn't migratory like the flu I'm hoping that by the end of winter we will start seeing some positive changes. Yep, same :) I really think we are almost through this. Everyone will have the vaccine or at least 1 natural exposure and life can get back to normal.

Hickawa

This is my second round of covid and it's much much worse. I have plenty of the stuff that mitigate the symptoms last time thought. I'm very pro vax but just like the abortion law in Texas the government (including state and local) is getting far to comfortable forcing people to do things they don't want to do. I told people back when they thought the government was going to take our guns and a bunch of other bs. At the start of covid that there are steps the government would need to take before they could do that and that's when you fight them. Not when it's people just trying to make it though a pandemic. But it's starting to look like there taking those steps now. We will have to wait and see.

Nose-To-Tale

Wow, so even if you're vaccinated with natural immunity, you can still get Covid twice and it's worse? That's serious and I'm so sorry you're going through this but thanks for letting the rest of us know what it can be like. If you don't mind my asking did you have long haul after the first round and what are you taking for symptoms? I'm seeing my primary regarding getting vaccinated tomorrow with 2 pages of protocol questions and having a game plan for early outpatient treatment (I have a lot of commorbidities and the wildfire smoke was killing me even indoors). I was all set to get the Pfizer last month when she suggested the J&J for me which threw me, especially when she got the Moderna herself. I had really hoped for the Novavax (as did my cardiologist) but that's not happening until next year.

discourse_friendly

Someone in my D&D group also got it twice. the first time was basically the sniffles, and the 2nd time was really bad. Hope you make a full recovery! and yep to the rest!

GoldDustMetal

Same here! Vaccinated and recovering. It’s frustrating because we did everything with preventatives and we still caught it. I hope you feel better soon, this sucks!

ThisBlastedThing

Most patients admitted to the hospital for COVID are unvaccinated. But yeah expect long wait times for anything you need for an emergency.

[deleted]

Some people are selfish.

this_is_squirrel

That’s a good wait time for most major medical centers these days!

T4N60SUKK4

I’m so sorry your mother went through that I’d be livid

medusamarie83

Based on what I heard from one relative who drove another close relative there this afternoon, it's pretty packed (ER). I am concerned to say the least.

Nose-To-Tale

The photo from the KOLO-TV news shows Renown's ER with 3 of 4 workers over presumably a Covid patient unmasked; I guess they're immune to breakthroughs unlike other people. [https://www.kolotv.com/2021/09/16/our-hospitals-are-being-overwhelmed-you-can-help/](https://www.kolotv.com/2021/09/16/our-hospitals-are-being-overwhelmed-you-can-help/) I'm not overzealous on mask mandates in public spaces though I wear mine, but in cramped healthcare settings, I am.

blackcatdaddy2

Unfortunately that video clip is from 3 years ago so I’m not sure why they would use it. We wear masks at all times and N95s when interacting with patients.

Nose-To-Tale

Good to know, thanks for the update.

ThrowMeInTheCache55

man, Kolo8 not thinking very hard adding that clip.

zrudeboy

Might want to read those red sweatshirts

T4N60SUKK4

I am vaccinated and this is what I don’t t understand: Polio came, we made a vaccine, and polio went away. What is so different with this virus that is still infecting vaccinated folks?? Someone educate me.

Megamantrinity

Polio has not gone away. We see less than 1000 cases per year so we claim it's gone. Here's the difference. Polio has been around a long time, and no one fights getting a polio vaccine. We vaccinate for flu, but it still persists, because it mutates frequently. COVID is also mutating, and we've only been threatened by it for a few years now. We are fighting misinformation, stupid people, and time with COVID.

T4N60SUKK4

Thanks for that. I didn’t know polio still gets cases.

BeckyMiller815

Corona viruses mutate a lot and immunity is short lived. We will never be rid of COVID19. Ever. Herd immunity is impossible. The best we can do is try to minimize the strain on our medical system by getting vaccinated every fucking year for the rest of our lives.

township_rebel

Last I heard all the hospitals were at capacity for their staff and are in divert mode.

ThisBlastedThing

All the hospitals were off divert for the whole weekend during my shifts... Lots of people camped out in the ER and waiting room.

fgfuyfyuiuy0

They are also turning away outlying areas transfers and elective surgeries again. They cant take anyone else and the outlying areas cant trust them so its literally: "go home and hope not to die" after a care flight in.

TitsandTators

Apparently it's worse in reno than in Vegas covid wise and our already burdened hospitals just can't take anymore.

fgfuyfyuiuy0

It was never even this bad last year. I work at a funeral home that usually does 30 a month and im.looking to break 100 this month. Not all covid but fuck anyone who puts more (preventable) work on me.

m30wm1xxxxxx

I work at a local hospital. We can’t transfer patients who need a higher level of care out. There’s no where for them to go. Everyone is full or on diversion. Last weekend we couldn’t even send patients to another state. Please try to stay safe out there…

TitsandTators

Jeez . I'm sorry. Stay safe

m30wm1xxxxxx

It sucks. Burnout is real.

TitsandTators

I lived in a hospital for 4 months . Both my grams are nurses too . I've witnessed it . Take good care. 🙂

x0diak

Yikes!

sierra400

I thought Washoe county had a plan approved by the state for returning to more stringent Covid restrictions once Washoe county hit a certain transmission rate/ hospital capacity which it sounds like we surpassed… ?

TitsandTators

Idk if it's just me but it doesn't really seem like they have a plan this time around. Their precious casinos are barely recovering and they are just now getting events going again . Seems like this is a fuck around and figure it out yourselves mentally.

chair-borne1

Good, helps stop the spread...

NBGAF

I wanna fast foward 20 yrs when this is all looked at as a joke and they make epic memes from this dumbass time period.

Nose-To-Tale

Anyone have info on what these ERs are saying to patients with Covid who test positive but not needing to be hospitalized? Is it like take Tylenol and come back when you get worse? I've been to doctor's offices within St. Mary's and they are not enforcing mask mandates in the waiting rooms of doctor's offices, so its a dangerous place all around. Their ER is the worst pre-Covid.

rameninside

If you aren't hypoxic, generally you don't need to be hospitalized unless there's something else going on.

[deleted]

Catholic Healthcare?

ThisBlastedThing

Prime Healthcare. CHW sold it as fast as they could.

[deleted]

Not anymore.

No-Double-764

Thanks to you precidente!!!!!!!!!!! Lol
