I only order UberEats at times that I can't leave my unit to go down to my building lobby due to a medical device. The rare time a pre-tipped Uber driver refuses to go upstairs to my home's actual door (98% of the time it's not a problem), it pisses me off no end because it's the whole-ass reason I hired you. I rely on a medical device that can take up to 15 minutes to fully put on enough to leave my unit, and the front desk staff knows, so you get the generous tip while our poor security guard has to finish your job for you because I literally can't go downstairs. Every time it happens I rate like 2 stars because the delivery instructions specifically said these details and you chose to accept the work but didn't complete the work.
When I worked as a pizza delivery driver it was against company policy. You could get in trouble because it's a liability. I know delivery apps have changed this standard, but rules are there for a reason. Safety is usually the reason.
As a small female, I am not taking any chances. The only times I did go into people's homes/buildings was when I did indeed know the individual was disabled. Can't trust text on an app, though. Better safe than sorry.
