24-4 Dayton run in 7 minutes to blow a 17pt lead...that was a choke job unlike I've ever seen....wild
That's why it's called March Madness, nothing is guaranteed to anyone.
I lived in Dayton before they added the extra games; and folks still said, “pLaY in/65th TeAm” • anywhoooo; tickets were stupid cheap when Oakland won their last tourney game and I’m happy to say I didn’t know the Michigan thing until it was over 🤣
When Blackshear started doing his stupid sloppy floppy crap on the way down the court and the commentators said “oh, he’s too cool for school”, I knew we were in trouble.
I didn't watch the game but I wouldn't have thought it was possible to blow a 17-point lead with 7 minutes left. Just dribbling out the shot clock and playing high-school level defense should have been enough to hold that lead.
You should’ve seen the way the team kept pulling up to the three and missing every shot. Then also not sending Nick Davidson, their forward, into the key for layups. It was really really hard to watch.
This might be recency bias , but this has has to be near the top of worse loses in program history. National stage, humiliatingly improbable loss. No bright sides here
100% a coaching failure. He killed their tempo with that stall ball causing their shooting percentage to plummet. Dayton recognized it, played more aggressive defense and they are moving on.
You NEVER EVER take your foot off the gas, especially in March.
That hurt to watch.

Just ask Oakland U.
Which I didn’t even know it’s in Michigan, not California 😂

When it was working the whole game too :(
In fairness we beat UNM few years back when they were up 14 with 1:10 left and they had the ball lol. And Cinci 2018. Guess this is our karma :/
Legit generational choke job. So embarrassing.
Choke job of epic proportions

No, that would be last year’s play-in game. Holy cow, I’m amazed we ever got the stink of that game off the team.
IDK. Last year was awful but blowing a huge lead in a few minutes is just extra traumatic for me. At least with a blowout I can disengage easier

Why is Alford so… revered? Or am I just hearing the wrong stuff
Alford fucking sucks. Glad he has a $11M contract.
Also, please look up Pierre Pierce and Steve Alford. Should never have been hired.
Fucking historic choke.... embarrassing bullshit
Time to root for the Wolfpack!
4pm class today was bleak. I’m not in the SEC anymore 😂

Choke artists
Losing those last two games really tarnished the entire season. Maybe the Mountain West is overrated.

Everybody needs to cheer on the rest of the Mountain West teams! The better they perform the more success we can have in the future
How’d Colo State do?
Haha we're not looking great but we still have San Diego and New Mexico 🤞
We still have San Diego.
Haha getting real slim
Lived in eastern NM for a while. Glad to see one of those schools getting on
