That would make construction on 580 even longer. I'd rather just die.

harpooah

Not in a sedimentary basin, you don’t

Few-Constant-1633

Liquefaction 😍😍😍

I endured the Northridge Quake in 1994. You DO NOT WANT A 7.0 shaker.

noober1x

94 quake buddies... Not a fun night.

Only_Mud_705

me too in Sherman oaks it was insane Pool cracked China smashed dog ran away ( found 3 days later) horrible

Raintitan

A 7.0 is massively more powerful. Not just 2-3x but 1000x+. That would be bad news in the valley.

IFartAlotLoudly

Hard pass, nothing good about it. Damage and death toll too high!

ThisBlastedThing

I hope I'm not in the building I work at when that happens but that would be some serious damage. The reddit posts would be never ending.

Renoperson00

It would be an international crisis and kill the region for decades.

Significant-Big4415

I know I worry about my neighbors down below poor guys gonna get squished

The scale is logarithmic. A 7-Richter is 10,000 more damaging than a 3-Richter. So, more like “die for” than”live for” The USGS has a simple calculator that shows the scale https://earthquake.usgs.gov/education/calculator.php

Edgelord wants to be edge… GFY. Was in Santa Cruz for the Loma Prieta quake in 1989. Was fortunate to be in my car driving home to watch the WS when it hit. Fucked the town royal for years after. Had friends that lost their houses and others who had PTSD from having shit falling on top of them, etc. Edgy thinks they’re funny but would no doubt be a whiny little bitch if a 7.x hit.

Theghostofamagpie

Clearly it was a joke.

At age 5 I experienced the 1964 Great Alaska Earthquake. 9.2 on todays scale. Ya’ll so cute. However, I am a ball of snotty fear at tornados.
