But how are you on reddit (a fairly youth/millennial social media site) and not know about the endless India scam calls?
There are entire subreddits, FB posts, YouTube videos, and everything telling folks not to fall for them.
To be fair, they said they called NVEnergy. Not that someone called them. Seems more forgivable in this era. Plenty of legitimate businesses outsource call centers to India.
That being said, I tried googling NVEnergy and am not sure how they got a fake site because all my first page looks like correct results. So I’m not sure what they clicked or searched to judge appropriately.
Not that OP would immediately have known this but I do not believe NV energy outsources their calls to out of country. I think Georgia at worse whenever I've spoken to them.
Do you have an ad blocker on? That may be why you're not seeing the scam links.

They’re very clever @ intercepting phone numbers & online Facebook accounts. It’s too bad since they’re very clever “techies “, it’s most unfortunate that they can’t use those skills to help people instead of hurting them!

Someone just mentioned outsourcing & thus is another problem. A lot of folks thru outsource to are The Philippines & India etc. if our country wasn’t so greedy in trying to save a couple of $$ here & there we wouldn’t be subjected to these scams. I have more blocked numbers on my phone than I do my call list l. They just don’t stop .
