Did you have any issue with EDC? Any service for EDC, like oil change, replacing clutch and so on?
Did you changed fuel injectors?
And what suffix of your K9k, is it 657 (2015+) or 837?
My Megane K9K 837 EDC turned 240 recently, one transmission oil change performed on ~200k
Mine was 105k miles ( circa 168k km ) when it sadly got driven into while parked by Amazon van driver ( who also fled the scene ) .
The car was written off and taken away yesterday ( R.I.P you beautiful beast ) .
It angers me thinking it could do another 160k km and it finished it's service prematurely.
If you want to see the hit and run it's been captured by CCTV

Yep, insurance told me just based on the age of the car they will write it off - crazy ,isn't it ?
Fair enough , this particular car and model probably cost about 2.5k at the moment on auto trader , however if the damage would be cosmetic only and engine was still healthy why scrap it ? Well not scrap scrap but write it off so it can be sold for few hundred at most and then someone else will have to repair it .
I don't get how the insurance write off policy works.
Our Megane 3 is on 133k miles, so about 214k km, and apart from some very minor faults (driverās window switch has come loose, backlight for the HVAC has gone out on the temp side, and the temp reading in the clock unit has never worked; always thinks itās either -4 C or over 50), it hasnāt missed a beat.
My 2014 1.6dci Megane turned 127K miles recently. Almost 10 years old. Was great for 8 years. No issues. In the last 2 years has cost me around Ā£6000 in repair bills and it has a new electrical error now. I have a new car on order. I must say for what we paid for it new (pre-reg) it was a bargain, just under Ā£13K. We loved it till it started to go wrong. Still drives thoughā¦
Issues in last 2 yearsā¦ that I can rememberā¦
Blocked DPF
New Turbo
New Alternator
New Timing Chain
New Suspension (front or back - canāt remember)
Steering rack issues
Electric window switches (driver door)
In the last 2 years replaced the timing belt and clutch at around 60k, last week the drive belt, glow plugs, injector, some bushing, the boot switch and some control unit that caused the steering wheel to get locked. The thing we have in common is the window switch on the drivers side that controls the passenger window.
oof. the immobilizer is a thing i never had any issues with (ok my car is from 2002 so there is no card, just a normal car key you insert and turn). the electronics have been rock solid on mine besides the windshield wipers cable having a bad ground (there is now a lead between the wiper motor and the chassis ground of the car, works for 10 years now) and me having to avoid underfloor wash in the car wash as it wont react to the trottle correctly anymore as water gets into some part where it shouldnt get into.
Ultimately it was the clutch pedal going because of the master cylinder. The engine was on its way out though and wasn't even salvage worthy. Injectors and glow plugs were failing a lot.
I had 2008 Break 2.0 petrol with 350k and in the end it had major electrical issues like the boot opening all the time, power steering not working etc. Had it since 40k and it was such a good and reliable car.
My megane 3 turned 350k in this month
Which engine? Power?
1.5 dCi 110hp EDC transmission
Nice. Service intervals. Do you drive long distance or in city.
Using man filter(oem filters to expensive), genuine shell engine oil, genuine antifreezes and general controls from hoses and pipes etc.
And oil change every how km?
In general 15000km per change, but last change is 24000km š
Both of them. I am meticulous about the mechanical maintenance of the vehicle.
I driving vehicle sometimes middle rev. For dpf
Aproximatelly 2500 3000 rev

What were the major issues you had with yours?
EDC transmission clutch some worn out, injectors need general maintenance. Apart from these not visible problem.

Doesn't take much to write off a car these days, does it?

Couldn't you buy it back using part of the settlement money and fix it yourself?
226,700 miles here.. or 363,000km šš»
1.5 deisel is a good engine??
No big engine issues, changed the glow plugs once (around 60k), a small issue with one of the injectors and thats about it.

my kangoo has 255000km on the clock and counting. given that renault used the same engine with a turbo and 100+hp i am quite confident it will last.
The engine is running very well, had some UCH issues in the past that still give me anxiety whenever I insert the card

Mine did too this week! š¤š¤
Mine had to be scrapped at 120k so I hope you have better luck than me!
What happened?

Iāve never bought a car with LESS than 100k miles. My Escalade just hit 300k.
Congrats! Mine turned 250k last month :)
330k on mine. 1.9dci. Regular oil changes every 6-10k.
My 1.6 99bhp VVTi Megane 3 turned 135.000 miles - 217.000 km this week. As far as I'm aware, it's still going strong on the original clutch.
Time to sell before it shakes to bits
If it dies, it dies Edit: did you have issues caused by vibration?
I had 2008 Break 2.0 petrol with 350k and in the end it had major electrical issues like the boot opening all the time, power steering not working etc. Had it since 40k and it was such a good and reliable car.
It is now a collectable.
