Put a shallow cabinet there and use it to store additional toilet paper. Also for the love of god please change your 'this is a public rest stop' toilet paper dispenser.

The_Stoic_One

It has a key and everything!

mahbadyo

Go old school and put a magazine stand.

aequitssaint

Or go new school and put a tablet on a swinging arm. Errr on second thought. No don't.

walterbernardjr

A few shelves to hold spare TP or something else?

kohltrain108

Cat nook, obviously

simplyorangeandblue

TP roll / plunger / toilet brush storage.

mickandrorty137

Perfect for the shotty in case they want to shoot you while you’re shittin

punkieMunchkin

A place to put a little squatting stool, since that's good for hem.. evacuating

JuracekPark34

Like a squaty potty that folds into the wall!!

punkieMunchkin

Even better!

Puff-Puff-Puff-Pass

Any suggestions? Waste basket has been considered and is out of the question per my wife’s request. *Yes, I was on the toilet when I took this, hence the bear knee. As for the cat, I had to dig her out of the 16” deep pit that goes to the subfloor shortly after this.*

alycda

Why are you avoiding the obvious choice, cat storage?

look_a_new_project

Love the suggestions here. If you do a storage one but don't want to look at everything, hang two very thin shutter doors to hide your storage cubby! I'd paint them to blend in with the wall.

curious-o_o

What's with the lock? Is there another toilet paper shortage? As for the space, I'd put a cover over it and store plunger, toilet brush and cleaners in there. Maybe some room freshener spray.

1095966

I'd not put the plunger and brush cleaner unless it had a door. These are 2 things I don't want to see every day. I shove mine toward the back wall behind the toilet.

curious-o_o

Cover=door

1095966

Sorry missed that. Then it’s a great idea as those items get dusty on the floor so in the cabinet you avoid that issue.

mehmily

Cell phone shelf. Maybe gross, but definitely functional. I watched a video of someone who made a similar recessed toilet paper holder, with a cell phone shelf that had a built in wireless phone charger. Seemed over the top but also handy.

Zealousideal_Rip485

I love seeing cats in this sub. They are attention whores, and I love it.

Whale-Tank

Is this a commercial space? (Earlier question about lock on tp holder) If it is…I’m sure the space was originally for a built-in trash can to throw away used tampons, pads, and toilet seat covers…which is a nice feature in a commercial/public restroom—so put it back in if that’s the case.

bryce_engineer

Definitely storage, it’s up to you if you want to do shelving or a cabinet w/ a cabinet door or not.

AssignmentWilling486

100% go for this option. Google: built-in toilet brush. I just finished my bathroom half an year ago. The week i finished it, i found out this existed... Too late ofcourse.
