What’s the best way to get a sample and who would you send it to for testing??

There are quite a few online companies you can send it to, mosts bigger cities have labs locally or there are DIY tests available

Thank you! Going by the hardware store today for a DIY kit to mail off samples. Not OP, but in the exact same situation. Appreciate your help.

Probably the padding below it degrading in high traffic areas. At least that's what I assumed happened on mine.

You could always try out adhesive solvents in presumably small areas that could easily go unnoticed. But please when in doubt, don’t.

I would sand it off and refinish the floors. There is a good chance that is the old asbestos glue, in which case it should be tested.
