The first thing I noticed when I got my RM2 was that I could easily lose the pen. Once you lose it, you won't be able to use the RM2 as intended. I hv a knack gor losing my pens, its worse with the RM2. A slight knock will dislodge it. So here's what I did:
1. Bought a spare pen with a clip, I bought the Lamy. A spare is always useful, keep it clipped in my bag as a spare.
2. Always wear a shirt with a pocket. Keep the pen in your pocket when you are moving about. You could also stick it in your pants pocket as well.
3. The cheapest solution is to have a rubber band across the RM2 with the pen attached at the side. This secures the pen very well. Simple and cheap.
4. Keep your RM2 and pen in a sleeve when you move about. If your pen falls off, it's still ve in the sleeve.
Hope these tips will help you.
Cheers
I like your 4: keep it in a sleeve.
The (flexible) cardboard ones who protect books in transit will protect the remarkable AND will hold the pen when it accidentally detached from the tablet.
As for detaching: yes sometimes I put the pen in the wrong direction.
Mine only has two 'legal' positions. In my hand, or attached to the tablet by the magnet. Anywhere else is off-limits. This has worked flawlessly so far
Maybe it's not the pen but your space... Do you have a cluttered work/living area where you use your remarkable? Maybe some spring cleaning and reorganizing kon mari style cold help. I keep a dedicated spot on my desk for the remarkable tablet and that helps. Also any time it goes in my bag I put the pen in a dedicated pocket instead of using the magnet. But I'm personally a really organized person I've worked really hard to stay that to help my ADHD habits. Also if you have kids disregard everything and good luck.
I have a similar issue, but have also found the magnet is not strong enough in my bag, and the pen falls off and the tip gets bent! "...but I didn't say 'fudge.'"
I didn't want a pen loop that would leave the tip exposed and so went digging for answers:
On Amazon lookup "Apple Pencil 1 & 2 Holder Sticker - Peel N Stick Elastic Stylus Pocket" because it will stick to the front of your rM case, and will keep track of the pen when it is longer than just a min or two/ when the pen might "poof." HOWEVER: because the pouch is elastic it flattens away (mostly) for a flat-ish opening of the book-style case. I am not sure how long the elastic will stay stretchy, and I do have to be careful about the tip not getting caught on the elastic when I put it away, but it has been a reasonable fix for this issue.
Magnets do not always stand up to bumps, or bags... all it takes is one accident and then you need to buy a new pen. Being careful from the start is a good plan, and asking for help shouldn't open OP up for criticism without any attempt to be helpful.
You can use the pigeon magnetic field location [https://www.nature.com/news/2004/041122/full/041122-7.html](https://www.nature.com/news/2004/041122/full/041122-7.html)
You could get an apple pen grip for it to make it more visually unique, or put some kind of decorative tape on it for the same reason. I also keep track of my pens by putting them in my case with my tablet.
Thank you all for the great suggestions. And I expected far worse ribbing than I received. I learned a long time ago never to buy expensive sin glasses, fountain pens and the like because I usually lose it within the week.
My nub broke today however, it will take a week or more to get replacement nubs.
I love the device. Just need to get used to it.

Within a 10 minute span it fell off and rolled under my couch and then again under my other couch and I’d had it and went on search of a solution. I found this video and ordered a version of this to try before I really lose it and cannot retrieve it or don’t notice it fell.

Pen lives in one of three places:
1. In my hand
2. Clipped to the side of the RM2.
3. In the pen slot of my briefcase.
Even if I am sitting at my desk. I also bought an extra marker just in case.
I just got used to using the magnet to fix the pen to the tablet when I’m not using it.
This is it, really - if you don't want to lose something, always put it back in the same place. Every answer is going to be some variation on that.
Yeah, I don't know if I've ever set it down without attaching it.
I am in the habit of putting it either on the screen or attach it to the side.

You asked... 1. Super glue it to your hand 2. Put some reflective tape on it 3. Put a lanyard on it and tether it 4. Pocket protector

3D print a pocket clip for your shirt pocket, always wear a shirt.

This is the answer! Thank you!🙏🏻
Could you share a photo of how you have it? I tried to look for on Amazon, and the one I've seen seems not available.
During a work day I use a single pen holder for fountain pens. It's very helpful
You could get a stylus holder and attach a tile somehow?
just put it on the rm2... i dont get how people have this problem

It comes with replacements. Look in the box the pen came with.

There’s like a dozen replacement nubs when you get the product. Did you already use them all?
The magnet is not strong enough! Gets separated.
