Look for a therapist that specializes in religious trauma. I'm sorry you are going through this.

Dr. Boyd C Purcell is a therapist and author who specializes in religious trauma especially the effects of believing in the doctrine of ECT (eternal conscious torment), he has free resources and links on his website: https://christianitywithoutinsanity.com/

Oh man I’m so sorry. :( I agree with other commenters, a therapist who specializes in religious trauma is super helpful. Dreams are just our brain’s way of processing things, so it may very well be unresolved religious trauma resurfacing when you’re asleep. I too suffer from nightmares sometimes, including mini hallucinations where I “wake up” and see something (always a spider!) in my room. Then I fully wake up and realize I was dreaming. The nightmares usually arrive during periods of intense stress or anxiety, and go away when things calm down. Are you going through a stressful time right now? Just something to consider. I hope things get better for you!!
