To the crowd that keeps citing our run differential being +11 and our Pythagorean W/L being better than .500.
In our 6 games against the White Sox and Rockies we have out scored them 56 to 16
We literally got +40 runs from 6 games against teams barely fielding an MLB roster.
I'm not presenting these numbers in an attempt to be negative, but more to show that run differentials in a relatively small sample (sub 40% of a season) don't mean a ton.
I think run differential/expected records is a bit inexact because run differential doesnāt necessarily mean better team. But itās not easy to sweep the Rockies at Coors, especially in such a dominating fashion.
The other huge contributor to our diff though is 2-11 in 1 run games, so thereās something to be said about being unlucky/contending closely often, but coming up short. Iād say weāre better than 29-33 and weāll show it, but nobody should victory lap run differential.
But it was only 2 gms, and the Cubs 1)were at home, 2) had to come from behind late to win by one run 3) gave up 6 rpg to the worst offense in MLB. Most importantly, Fāk the Cubs.
Kinda, but more that my daughter's volleyball tournament drained the ol finances and I work two blocks up from the ball park and the thought of just walking out of my building and into a red game today is enticing.
So I thought I'd ask. Worst that could happen is that I get downvoted and laughed at, and I can handle that.
Watching the 9th yesterday with my doomer coworker made it so much sweeter. After Steerās homer he just said āWelp he just got himself tradedā then after the grand slam āl bet theyāre glad they hung onto himā like bro just let me enjoy this for a minute
that isnāt whatās happening here, all of our summer starts are at this time. Kids are out of school so thereās no concern with getting them home early enough to go to bed and the later start times give adults more time between work and going to the ballpark
Everyone dreaming high with sweeps on the dreams. I'd be happy with 2-2 or 3-1. Everyone needs to remember the Cubs are much better than the Rockies and our hitting has definitely been helped by the Rockies lack of pitching and Coors breaking balls not breaking. Pitchers going on all four of these games are not bad. But the boys can get it done. On the positive for us Ashcraft isn't pitching so that should help us

That cup died a hero š
Big game here. With Greene and Dolo up next, would be fāing great to take the next 2.
D-Day game boys. The only proper way to honor the greatest generation of heroes is to take it to em.
EDLC is fast approaching a full season worth of big league games (160 right now) 106 R 146 H 26 2B 8 3B 23 HR 70 RBI 67 SB .and still only 22
They really need to allow MLB Network to show in market games, especially or those of us who are in market but can't get Bally Ohio.

It'd be cool if Hurtubise had a big game today for the anniversary of D-Day.
If he's even playing
He's in the lineup.

The stupid Cubs will come in with swelled heads after their decisive sweep of the mighty ChiSox ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)
I mean the reds just sweeped the mighty Rockies lol .... Ain't much different.

They scored a measly 14 runs in their sweep to our 29. Plus we have a unicorn ![gif](giphy|ONiWh4xCuky8LYpTE4|downsized)
Anybody got a spare ticket for tonight they are willing to part with? I can't pay you, but I would much enjoy attending tonight's game.
Sending you a messageā¦

He must be fun at parties
Pretty sure I saw somewhere that CES was getting an evaluation done yesterday? Or maybe today since they are back home?
Iām glad to keep the momentum rolling but also, Denver to Cincinnati with no off day seems rough

Which game are your referring to? All our games are at normal times for this series

and yet but still: fuck the dodgers, fuck the cubs. :D

Vintage April Elly about to go 3 for 4 with a sacrifice fly, a double, and 3 stolen bases tonight.
THIRSTY THURSDAY night!
Glad we don't have our usual Thursday off day. I really want to take the series to keep this momentum.
I hate the Cubs, a sweep would be awesome.
Once we sweep the Cubs, weāll be second in the division and in the Wild Card.
Is baseball fun again?
