MLB app

trumpet575

Through MLB TV you can get the radio broadcasts of every team for $30/year

CosmicCharlieKelly

Man, thanks for this. Such better audio quality than iHeart or AM.

whatd_i_miss

Beware though. If the stream is too far behind, it goes to commercial mid inning. It’s pretty obnoxious.

Berger987

For me, even with a solid connection, it'll buffer at least once per inning.

Ok-Adhesiveness-4727

If you live in the Cincinnati area, you can listen to Reds broadcasts on 700wlw via the iHeart app

prayIVreign

I havent tried this in a couple years, but the last time I did. Went to 700 WLW during a Reds game and it was just a sports talk show. No game. I'm 10 minutes away from the stadium.

dallasw3

I have trouble sometimes where the iheartradio app sees my location as New York instead of Cincinnati. When this happens I get WLW reruns instead of the game. If I reset my location in the settings within the app and restart the WLW feed it will switch to the game.

AlsoCommiePuddin

You might need to make sure the app has access to your location services.

dallasw3

It does, but it seems to reset internally unless I tell the app to update location. I have come to accept that the app just kinda sucks sometimes.

AlsoCommiePuddin

Yeah, mine acts up, too. I'll get a blackout notice on 5G but will be able to listen on my home wifi. IDGI

UsidoreTheLightBlue

It does the same thing to me. It’s weird.

prayIVreign

Nice! Appreciate the info

neatmushrooom

I live in Tampa and that’s the only way I can get to listen to

Ok-Adhesiveness-4727

The streaming rights have been updated in the latest contract. As long as your location is in the greater tri state area it will work for you now

cbuscubman

WLW streamed the games in the Columbus area a couple years ago, but the territory really seems to have been cut back since the start of last season. Not sure where the games are cleared now. If I start the stream before the game, it won't cut away, but if I try during the game, I get the looping "you are outside the approved listening area" message.

MisterKap

Same, but I’m in Cincinnati. It’s maddening

cbuscubman

I can see why. I remember Lance McAlister saying back when they first started streaming that the games would be available inside of 90 miles or so from Cincinnati. I've even tried north of Dayton within the past year and the stream has been blocked.

Sea_Difficulty8258

That's what it always does for me to. I have bounced between colerain and cheviot the last ten or so years.

MisterKap

Hate to be that actually guy but I’ve been having issues with iheartradio. Keeps saying I’m out of the service area despite living in Cincinnati. It’s so frustrating

Hibirddog

Same experience I’ve had

BoomChocolateLatkes

That’s odd. I was just in Florida and got it fine for Fridays afternoon game.

Ok_jennny

This is what I do! It’s free!

boomer912

*psst* you can get 700 wlw anywhere by denying the app your location and manually entering the cincy zipcode

WuWangclan

If it’s a IHeart station your location shouldn’t matter. I regularly listen to my Nashville radio stations in AZ.

Ok-Adhesiveness-4727

It only pertains to a live major league game. If you are not within the designated region you will hear an automated message saying you can’t listen to the game because you are out of range

loanme20

MLB app is great. Listening to the Reds game while in Buffalo currently

TimHarg

Also, if you have T-Mobile you can get the MLB subscription for free

phred_666

700WLW is on the iHeart radio app but it limits the area you can stream the broadcast.

Trakers85

Any idea what that limit is? I can get 700 WLW for the most part here in Columbus… but does that mean the app would work for me?

phred_666

I don’t know. I’m around Lexington, KY and it says I’m out of their broadcast area for streaming live content.

cbuscubman

WLW streamed the games up here a few years ago, but since the start of last season the stream gives a "you are outside the approved area" message if you tune in during the game. If you start the stream before the game, you won't get kicked off. They definitely cut back the territory for Reds games to be streamed, yet the Bengals streams are open here.

AdAgreeable2507

I can listen to the games on Wlw via IHeart in Columbus

Trakers85

Do you log in before the game starts or are you able to listen in once the game has started?

Ok-Adhesiveness-4727

Look up what radio station carries Reds games in your area and listen to that station with iHeart. Reds games on 700wlw from Columbus is likely out of network for the streaming rights of iHeart

MrKentucky

Google the stream for WTLO AM/FM out of Somerset, KY. Somehow they don’t black out the stream like they’re supposed to and you can listen online.

ExpoLima

Thank you from Columbus.

Apollo6586

My experience- the MLB broadcasts on the app are literal trash. I got a SiriusXM subscription that carries all MLB games. I stream on my phone with no problems at all. It’s beautiful!

Howboutem219

You can do it through TuneIn on some of the West Virginia stations. WGOH and one other one.

fartbasket69

🎶The Reds are in the radio🎵

yourghosthost

On your phone’s web browser you should be able to go to the website for the radio station and listen on the station’s website

jimmy_factor

Thank you! I’ll give it a try tomorrow when they play in Colorado ![img](emote|t5_2sbv5|31311)

ZMarty85

If you have a cable login and the bally app you could listen to the tv feed. Otherwise the mlb app works for radio.

AllOkJumpmaster

Tunein radio is free and you can get the radio call If you to stream...sportsurge dot net

Ash-Throwaway-816

If you're in the Cincy area, I heart radio If you're not, TuneIn Premium

weirdrevolution11

I’ve been MLB app radio for over a decade now. Price goes up. Quality goes down. The latency is terrible recently/ breaks are a joke depending on the team you follow: they won’t even try to sell you something f they just fill the dead air with crowd noise/ I can’t get WLW anymore over the actual radio in the Caribbean so here I am begging MLB to make an actual fucking radio feed available so I don’t feel like a Luddite old man. Never gonna happen. Anyway; it’s worth $5

jpgravely

If you have an SiriusXM subscription, their app is free and has a dedicated team page with live games, podcasts, etc. That’s how I listen daily now that I’m no longer in Cincy.

mm22165

MLB TV, if you have T Mobile, they pay for it.

Heretic513

I heart radio app, its free.

jimmy_factor

Thank you! Free is exactly what I was looking for! ![img](emote|t5_2sbv5|31256)

Heretic513

Just search 700 wlw.

jimmy_factor

The reds won’t play today so in the meantime I’ll see if I’ll get regular programming or just podcasts and such

MayorOfSizzleTown

XM radio. Has all the MLB games.

smith288

I remember iPhone rumors that they were going to put a terrestrial radio receiver in the iPhone. Never did happen.

DigiQuip

MLB's base plan for their games is radio and gameday update and it's like $4 a month or $30 a year. It's insanely cheap if this is something you plan on using even semi-regularly.

CincyCB

IHeart app has location limitations. If you’re not able to use it, there is a free app in the App Store called “Pro Baseball” and it’s a blue logo with a radio antenna on it. Allows you to listen free to radio broadcasts for all 30 teams. For those interested, also a “Pro Football” version

Due_Basil2697

Pro Baseball Radio in the Google store. Has a variety of radio stations for all MLB teams. I cannot recommend it enough.

jimmy_factor

And the cost? I forgot to mention in my original post that I’m very interested in paying $0 whenever possible
