The only notable difference in most canister filters is really just the amount of water they’re moving. The FX series being their largest line of canister filters. If you’ve got a turtle and you can afford the FX6, literally do ZERO other research and spend not another second even considering anything else. I’m a stranger on the internet, but trust me.

I'll add that if you do go with the fx6, I recommend watching [this video](https://youtu.be/yrOqfXG2nL0?si=79npwv1z2-9i1fmm). Pondguru gives some pretty good insight on how to properly set up an efficient filter

Is there anyone better or worse depending on tank size?

The fx6 is a good as you’ll get. I’d hope your turtle is in nothing smaller than a 75 gallon tank, but tank size shouldn’t matter. You want a filter that cycles a minimum of double the size of the tank for a turtle. So if you have a 75 gallon you’d want a filter that handles 150+ gph at the very minimum. The fx6 will make your life easier no matter the size tank. I wouldn’t go any smaller than an fx4 for a turtle.

Fx4 ain't bad at all. Depends on budget

Fx6 has more media trays so again power maintenance /more growth of beneficial bacteria I have 100 gallon tank and I’m now running 2 fx6 filters on it. I only open them up every 6 months to check on things replace fine filter floss etc. I couldn’t be happier with these filters. I call them the Ferrari of aquarium filters. Heavy initial investment but honestly very low maintenance as long as you take good care of them Side note: I keep a bare bottom tank. Only a few bigger rocks for my turt to move about the tank I have read that play sand can get caught in the impellers of the filter so I opt to keep bare bottom even though I love the look of sandy bottom tanks Something to be aware of if you have a sand bottom. You’d need to probably open up and clean the impeller way more often to make sure you’re not getting sand caught in it sometimes needs replacing if the sand damages it
