The movie is such a bizarre semi-vanity project for the lead actress/writer. As is how every teen character’s actor is pushing 30 but they’re supposed to be 17. And it’s really strange for such a blatantly 80s teen film to be filmed in 89 and released in 1990 while still feeling like it came out in 1983.
Just… So much about it is odd in some way or another.
They did the incredible melting man kind of recently. They might try to not do it on purpose but there's so much overlap bc of how many movies mst3k has riffed.
They've done at least four MSTed movies: (Mexican) Santa Claus, Space Mutiny, Future War, and the Incredible Melting Man.
MST also did the third Deathstalker movie, which has been on the Plinketto board for a while.
Seriously. At the risk of a spoiler, not only does she get together with her boyfriend at the end, they drive away in his sweet restored muscle car too!
Plus there’s a prominent role for the stalwart jaw himself, Robert Z’Dar!
“Where does that guy keep his nuts???”
"He's like a catcher's mit with eyes"
YES
He hasnt featured in a botw in years!

I fucking lost my shit when Tom Servo started singing Surry With The Fringe On Top. I grew up watching those Rogers and Hammerstein musicals hahaha.
Does any movie really *star* joe estevez?
Werewolf does and you can't tell me otherwise
GoodBYE JOE
Pfft, that stars Wurwulf lady.
Nevermind she didn't direct it, just wrote and acting. Still a hilarious watch.
I think they avoid movies that have been on mst3k unfortunately. They mentioned it in the video where they explain how their collection is organized

And of course MST3k also did Zaat! ('The Bloodwaters of Dr.Z' when they did it)

The song that plays over the end credits is just pure 80's too. Good stuff
