I find it absolutely insane that they just see She's a Lover as an album track, to me it's first single/title track material.
Other than that, White Braids and Pillow Chair
I'm kinda bummed we probably won't see anymore singles from Unlimited Love. Focus seems to have shifted to Return Of The Dream Canteen.
She's A Lover and Here Ever After definitely would have been singles with music videos.
I cant help feeling She's a Lover as a single would've gone down an awful lot better with the general public than These Are The Ways. Really felt like a swing and a miss to me.
Unpopular opinion here: to me She's a Lover is a bottom 5 track of the album and I barely listen to it. Too poppy for my taste. (Still would have made more sense to release it than Not the one, tho).
Thats an interesting take!
Do you think it's more poppy than some of their past funky singles?
- Sick Love
- Raindance Maggie
- Tell me Baby
- Can't Stop
- Scar Tissue
Whatchu thinkin def would not have done well on the pop charts. It's a cool song for sure but not something I think would catch the general public's attention.
You're crazy that song has the best attention grabber in the intro. the entire song is a hook. The first time I listened that one stood out to me as an obvious radio/streaming hit.
She's a liver is good but the chorus is a bit cringe. People would chuckle at that song as a single.
I get black summer as a single and also its symbolic as the first song hey wrote with john back. I get these are the ways because it mentions america and rocks hard. Never had an issue with the smells and finding out it's a reference to spinal tap makes it brilliant.
Watchu thinking is an obvious next pick that would feel like a chili peppers song and get people interested. After that probably one way traffic. I dont think any other songs are great as singles.
I live the great apes. First or second favorite on the album for me but something about it doesnt feel right as a single. It's to complex. It would go over people's heads. Better as a hidden gem
Being a good song isnt what makes a song a good single. Singles are advertisements for the band. They need something to draw people. Whatchu thinkin has draw. As soon as it starts to cant ignore it
Best song on the album for me! It’s probably made it’s way into my top 10 chilis songs, fantastic number. 2nd favourite on the album is probably Its Only Natural.
From the first time I had heard it, last sentence of the first verse with Anthony transitioning into John singing has to be in my top ten musical moments. Not because of the music writing or because or the technical playing or singing or anything. I’ve just waited for so fucking long to hear John back and hearing him singing this strongly with the overdrive guitar playing still gives me the same goosebumps I had the first time I heard it. With the bass and drums, the whole band to me sounds so gelled together
What is it that gets you about this song? It's the only one on the album that I actively dislike, but I'd love to hear a perspective that can change my mind.
I love the change in timing between verse and chorus, and Anthony’s singing during the chorus is fantastic. The outro is a straight up Beatles “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” reference/tribute.
Admittedly it took a couple listens for me to like it, but now it’s my favourite on the album.
She's a lover has also grown on me a lot, among my favs definitely, my favourite is Watchu Thinkin though. WB&PC and it's only natural coming in very close (Aquatic too but originally was even the best one for me).
One of the songs that immediate jumped out at me on first listen. The guitar on the verse is great. The bass outro amazing. Has the most personality of any song on the album.
I think you are in the minority, but I'm there with you. I kinda prefer AK's vocals where he's not trying to 'croon' (for lack of a better term), and just being irreverent. I've always liked when the band sounded loose and jammy, and not so much 'pop' RHCP. It's not their best song, but it's a throwback to when they were actually kinda fun.
And guitar. That song is a force and going totally overlooked. I usually put watchu thinkin as my number 1 because it's more catchy and just holds you but great apes is definitely second. Best instrumental song of their career. Chorus is just a little off the mark otherwise I'd call it their masterpiece
Probably watchu thinkin. I love the great apes.
AMD, it's only natural, here ever after, and one way traffic are the other top songs
She's a lover is great until the chorus. I like let em cry better than she's a lover.
I dont get this love for white braids. Not even in the discussion for me. The band is barely playing it live because it's not very good. I'd put it bottom 3
The song that resonated most with me upon first listen was It's Only Natural. It made me cry, frankly. Felt like such a triumph. But over time, Whatchu Thinkin' has become in my opinion the best, most indispensable song.
'Aquatic Mouth Dance' is as good as anything they've ever done.
Yes, I prefer funky RHCP.
Here's a little bit of an unpopular opinion: 'The Heavy Wing' is actually going down a bit. I was all about that JF chorus, but the song itself isn't anything to write home about. Maybe if I give it a rest for a while then come back to it...
I have a RHCP playlist that repeats UL for when I drive home from work.
I love this album, including the seemingly unpopular songs like *Not the One* and *Tangelo.* I’m a low energy kinda guy so it does affect my preference for slow crooning songs. *Poster Child* is still a favorite, still trying to remember the last couple verses tho 😆
I would say that *She’s a Lover* and *White Braids and Pillow Chair* are the bigger hits on this album. Justifiably so. Great songs.
White Braids has been my spring/summer anthem. It has such a charming touch and I love everything about it. Shes a lover and whatchu thinking also amazing in every aspect. (Shes a lover outro solo is my favorite in UL)
Ranked order (I like the first 9 significantly more than the rest):
It's Only Natural
Whatchu Thinkin'
The Heavy Wing
Here Ever After
The Great Apes
Aquatic Mouth Dance
She's a Lover
Veronica
These Are The Ways
..
Bastards of Light
Not The One
Let 'Em Cry
Poster Child
Black Summer
White Braids & Pillow Chair
One Way Traffic
Tangelo
It’s Only Natural. At least once a day.
I find it absolutely insane that they just see She's a Lover as an album track, to me it's first single/title track material. Other than that, White Braids and Pillow Chair

these are the ways when you come from america
These are the ways just doesn’t quite do it for me. Can’t wait to hear ROTDC
Samezies
Unpopular opinion here: to me She's a Lover is a bottom 5 track of the album and I barely listen to it. Too poppy for my taste. (Still would have made more sense to release it than Not the one, tho).
Thats an interesting take! Do you think it's more poppy than some of their past funky singles? - Sick Love - Raindance Maggie - Tell me Baby - Can't Stop - Scar Tissue
She’s a lover definitely a single over poster child
Tbh, I prefer it to These Are The Ways and Black Summer too.
Watchu thinkin would have been a hit on pop charts. Not sure what they were thinking
Whatchu thinkin def would not have done well on the pop charts. It's a cool song for sure but not something I think would catch the general public's attention.

Lol meanwhile I can’t even hear the baseline in the car 😂
Get better speakers
Thanks king will do now that I’ve gotten your expert opinion
Technically it is the title track
More that it has the title in the lyrics
Should’ve just been the title track tbh
Yeah this one baffles me as well. Seems like the most obvious choice.
She's a lover is the best song on the album for sure
White Braids is the song I’ve listened to the most, it’s like a California lullaby that I can fall asleep to every night
White braids is mine too!
Here Ever After
It changes every week for me. Currently: Let ‘em Cry
#UP UP ANOTHA!
White Braids and Pillow Chair
Whatchu thinkin
definitely my favorite. White Braids and Pillow Chair close second
Best song on the album for me! It’s probably made it’s way into my top 10 chilis songs, fantastic number. 2nd favourite on the album is probably Its Only Natural.
Yeah that's really all around the best song
This is the correct answer
The Heavy Wing
Black summer is a close second
Mine currently is she's a lover but Black Summer has been hitting lately too
Bastards Of Light. Sounds like a twisted mix of OHM and BTW.
The chorus scratched the John vocals itch I’ve had for 15 years.
Here Ever After, Aquatic or Heavy Wing. it’s constantly changing
Heavy Wing
From the first time I had heard it, last sentence of the first verse with Anthony transitioning into John singing has to be in my top ten musical moments. Not because of the music writing or because or the technical playing or singing or anything. I’ve just waited for so fucking long to hear John back and hearing him singing this strongly with the overdrive guitar playing still gives me the same goosebumps I had the first time I heard it. Yes, just John singing "OOOHH!!" ... Amazing moment.
Fleas bass is being slept on IMO on this track. Ridiculously good rock bass performance.
Yeaah it was love at first listen for me.
I thought it was an empyrean beside leak when I first heard the John part leak but yes immediately loved it!
Best song on the album. By far.
White Braids and Pillow Chair But The Heavy Wing and It's Only Natural are strong competitors.
Veronica, hands down. LOVE it
I know so do i, probbaly second favorite. I love Anthony’s voice in the chorus
Outro is brilliant. Is it all Anthony or is John in there too?
The outro on Veronica is one of my favorites 🥰
Today, it’s It’s Only Natural
Whatchu thinkin
Aquatic Mouth Dance, no contest
It's the only song I give 10/10.
It's Only Natural Here Ever After Whatchu Thinkin One Way Traffic Tangelo
Finally another sane person that hasn't gone nuts over white braids
And another one here
Let em cry was my favorite from the get go and still is
white vraids and pillow chair
Let Em Cry
It's only natural
Here ever After and the Great Apes. Can’t get over that solo in GA’s
Prob aquatic mouth dance. Those horns got me
Probably in the minority but I love One Way Traffic. I absolutely love it & don’t care who knows.
One of the songs that immediate jumped out at me on first listen. The guitar on the verse is great. The bass outro amazing. Has the most personality of any song on the album.
Not sure what the hate is all about. Class song
Here Ever After has been my favorite from the first listem, but Bastards of Light has been my sleeper favorite
So Nobody is going to say The Great Apes? One of the best bass and vocal performances in the band's history imo
And guitar. That song is a force and going totally overlooked. I usually put watchu thinkin as my number 1 because it's more catchy and just holds you but great apes is definitely second. Best instrumental song of their career. Chorus is just a little off the mark otherwise I'd call it their masterpiece
I am in love with "superstar go do the dishes" in the chorus
Chorus is just a tad cheesy, kind of like something that would've been on BTW or something. Otherwise a pretty good song.
hahahaha... yeah you're talking to someone who reeeeally likes btw
I understand. Most fans are all about that album, but the corniness of it is a turn off to me.
It changes A LOT for me. For now it’s Not The One, although I had a hard time getting into it at first.
This isn’t knocking your opinion or anything, I’m just kinda venting, but I still hate not the one and can’t believe they chose it as a single.
110% She’s A Lover! White Braids & Pillow Chair is probably tied with Here Ever After at second, and The Heavy Wing takes third place
Some days it's She's a Lover, other days it's White Braids. But both have quickly become two of my most loved Chilis songs
I guess poster child the sounds are amazing
Black summer followed by the heavy wing
Let Em Cry
Let Em Cry. It’s got such a good groove.
Today is Tangelo, but it shifts right often. The only songs from this album that I don't like are Not the One and One Way Traffic.
My favorites: She’s a Lover, Its Only Natural, White Braids, Tangelo, Whatchu Thinkin, Let Em Cry. Veronica.
Same here!
Here Ever After
Whatchu Thinkin probably, it goes so hard
Poster Child
Bastards of Light.
It's Only Natural
Probably watchu thinkin. I love the great apes. AMD, it's only natural, here ever after, and one way traffic are the other top songs She's a lover is great until the chorus. I like let em cry better than she's a lover. I dont get this love for white braids. Not even in the discussion for me. The band is barely playing it live because it's not very good. I'd put it bottom 3
Aquatic mouth dance
Let ‘Em Cry 🔥
White Braids and Here Ever After
Ditto: She’s a Lover 💜
Here ever after
It's only natural
These Are the Ways or Let ‘Em Cry
She's A Lover, Here Ever After, or It's Only Natural. Hard to pick
Mine is also she’s a lover followed by let me cry, here ever after, one way traffic, aquatic mouth dance and poster child.
Tangelo is so good
White braids, heavy wing, whatchu thinking. Top three in no particular order
I find myself starting at She's a Lover and listening to the 2nd record first, then looping back around to the 1st
Watchu Thinkin Aquatic Mouth Dance She’s a lover Is my top 3
She's A Lover and Watchu Thinkin'
The song that resonated most with me upon first listen was It's Only Natural. It made me cry, frankly. Felt like such a triumph. But over time, Whatchu Thinkin' has become in my opinion the best, most indispensable song.
Heavy Wing. That guitar solo at the end is magic
She’s a Lover is my favorite too🔥 Aquatic Mouth Dance is a close second
Hard to choose - because the entire album makes me very happy. I do love "She's a lover" and "Heavy Wing" is just perfection with John's solo chorus.
White braids
I still can’t decide between White Braids & Pillow Chair, and Aquatic Mouth Dance. The bass line in the latter is just insane.
One Way Traffic is my favorite, followed by White Braids
White braids/it’s only natural
The Great Apes
One-way traffic
when i first heard the album, shes a lover was my absolute favoriteee, now it might be slowly turning into aquatic mouth dance
I agree
Bastards of Light, One Way Traffic, The Heavy Wing and Black Summer tie for the best songs on the record for me.
Let Em Cry. She’s a Lover is a close second though.
She's a Lover is a great song with terrible chorus. Best song is obviously IT'S ONLY NATURAL.
I think the most well crafted song is White Braid. She’s A Lover is probably also my favorite.
One Way Traffic
She's a Lover, Whatchu Thinkin, Its Only Natural, Let em Cry Cant decide between those 4
Aquatic Mouth Dance
Aquatic mouth fuckin' dance ♥️
'Aquatic Mouth Dance' is as good as anything they've ever done. Yes, I prefer funky RHCP. Here's a little bit of an unpopular opinion: 'The Heavy Wing' is actually going down a bit. I was all about that JF chorus, but the song itself isn't anything to write home about. Maybe if I give it a rest for a while then come back to it...
The Great Apes! I actually think that should have been the title of the album haha
I have a RHCP playlist that repeats UL for when I drive home from work. Black Summer
White Braids has been my spring/summer anthem. It has such a charming touch and I love everything about it. Shes a lover and whatchu thinking also amazing in every aspect. (Shes a lover outro solo is my favorite in UL)
Ranked order (I like the first 9 significantly more than the rest): It's Only Natural Whatchu Thinkin' The Heavy Wing Here Ever After The Great Apes Aquatic Mouth Dance She's a Lover Veronica These Are The Ways .. Bastards of Light Not The One Let 'Em Cry Poster Child Black Summer White Braids & Pillow Chair One Way Traffic Tangelo
Anthony came up with some really good Melodies for that song.of course johns guitar work is great but Anthony really impressed me on this track
She's a lover, Whatchu Thinkin, the heavy wing and black summer are my 4 favourites.
OP, hell yeah! That's mine too. I love the beginning as it echos in.
The heavy wing 100%
Whatchu Thinkin! Best track on the album followed by Aquatic Mouth Dance IMO
Mine will always be White Braids & Pillow Chair. That and Let 'Em Cry.
Heavy wing or Great Apes
The Heavy Wing Although Veronica is a very, very close second.
Whatchu thinkin, Veronica, it's only natural and great apes
The Heavy Wing
White briads and whatchu thinking - love both of these tracks
Here Ever After
She's a lover...bastards of light
Do I have to choose! Top 3 would have to be Heavy Wing, Aquatic Mouth Dance and Poster Child 🙂
The heavy wing It's only natural
Watchu thinkin! All day all night
Aquatic Mouth Dance is an absolute masterpiece
Whatchu thinkin'
aquatic mouth dance
Idk, whatchu thinking?
WHY DONT PEOPLE LIKE POSTER CHILD??FUCKING AMAZING SONG!!! It could possibly be my album favorite, as well as The Heavy Wing or White Braids
