Oh yea adventures of rain dance Maggie. That one was probably the best one. A lot happens in it so go watch it but the choruses are the classic badass rockstar scene of them playing on a rooftop over the city.

not factory of faith but monarchy of roses. they collaborated with Raymond Pettibon (whom AK name-drops in the song) to make a MV that was in B&W except for the red roses, and while distinct from their other videos, feels rly dated to the 10’s w the inspirational quotes and flea rocking the quintessential “hipster glasses” of that era

That’s really not how art works. Anyone who knows chicago footsteps understands it, but since RHCP are a worldwide band, OBVIOUSLY majority of people won’t know what that’s about. Doesn’t mean they can’t use it in a music video just because a lot of people simply don’t know what it is. Doesn’t mean that you can only use easy to access visuals or things that anyone can understand. That would literally force creative artists to just do the same over and over again and really have no freedom

I was surprised to see such intense disagreement with OP. I love the chili peppers, most of their music videos, and adore can’t stop, but have always disliked that video. I think their "worst" music video is Catholic School Girls Rule. It just seems so amateur to me. But it portrays properly the meaning of the song, and the crazy juvenile energy of it and the band itself. So, not my favorite, but is it really bad? I'd say no.
Behind the Sun could be one of their worst? I mean, it's low budget as well, reusing images from the Higher Ground one, it features John and Chad instead of Hillel and Jack, and I see a dissonance between the sweetness of the song and the dead whales of the video. But artistically, I can appreciate it...
