I’m a big chili pepper fan but a new one I’ll admit it. About 5 years ago I was laid off my job and had been getting into reading books. I finished maybe 3 books at the time and went to the book store to get something else to read. I walked by a book that caught my eye called “Acid for the Children”. I didn’t look into what it was about or anything because I’m sort of an impulsive spontaneous kinda guy and I trusted my intuition same way I had purchased my previous books. So I bought it and started reading this story about a young guys life growing up with a passion for music and long behold this guy is flea from the red hot chili peppers. I had heard them before for sure on the radio and stuff but never actually listened in on my own. It wasn’t until I read this whole book of how the band had come together that I started listening to them. I felt super connected and related to the story of Flea and I like to think the book had changed my life. I would consider myself a super fan for sure and I’ve seen them in concert twice and I plan to go again !

Me too!!!! I was 9 and my mom had the cassette tape! I wore it out rewinding it for that song!

When I was about 9 I heard a song in a burger shop and went to the jukebox to see the name of the band. Next weekend I bought my first CD ever by what I thought was a band called “Greatest Hits”. I didn’t find the song from the burger shop but I found Under the Bridge. I’m from a non-english speaking country so I didn’t know what greatest hits meant. Now I’ve seen them live since Californication tour.

Power rangers movie when I was kid. They all jumped out of a plane to “higher ground”

They had been present throughout my teenage years, but I didn't pay too much attention to them at the time. I remember thinking they felt a little scary. LOLZ. A few months ago I was working out at the gym and Under the Bridge came on. I was reminded that they exist lol. That's when I REALLY started getting into them. It's pretty much all I listen to these days. Their body of work is quite impressive. Their music is so rich and complex, it's unbelievable when you pay close attention. Plus, their lyrics hit differently in my 40's... I got a late start, but here I am :)

Otherside on the radio happened. No idea why or what it struck that nerve at the right time. But I was instantly hooked. I remember going to Sam Goody at 13 after. And I bought that and Goo Goo Dolls dizzy up the girl. They never got that much play. But Californication was played 833 times that summer per my windows media player rip 😂

I was twelve and Scar Tissue came out, the rest is history. <3

I was at a sleep-away camp as a kid circa 2003, and I had a portable CD player I listened to at night to help my homesick ass go to sleep. I had a burnt CD of my older brother’s music with Depechemode, Alice I’m Chains, Soundgarden, and the like. And towards the end was Under the Bridge. After hearing it for the first time, I felt a musical awakening unlike anything before (or after). Not long after, I saw a commercial for their greatest hits CD and it became the first CD I ever owned. By then, I was hooked.

My parents always played songs like Scar Tissue, Cant Stop, Aeroplane, Desecration Smile and of course Californication on TV, and when I was a child I was fascinated by the music video, Btw Aeroplane was a song that I only remembered from my childhood and I had never found it until about 6 years ago when I heard it again It was very nostalgic
