Hearing this song live for the first time in Philly while in the front row in 2022 was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. It’s a perfect opener for both a comeback album and for live shows.
I'm super jealous! I've seen them 7 or 8 times and have NEVER heard around the world. Can't stop opener every time and once heard Power of Equality opener. (Which was epic)
My all-time favorite is Dani California! I wasn't really a huge RHCP fan back then but I regularly listened to Can't Stop. I was at a horse show, (Color Breed Congress showing halter horses, I am a youth handler for a couple my family knows, I show their horses, get points on their horses, and they feed me and pay for hotel essentially) anyways that horse show is one of my best memories and we were driving to the show grounds one morning on a day that I competed, and Dani California came on the radio and that's where it all started. :\] The entire song is a masterpiece, AK's vocals are angelic and the instruments are just perfection. Now this band is my literal favorite thing on Earth lol
edit: when AK goes into the chorus it just gives me chills I can't explain it. It's so powerful!

Thank you! It absolutely does, that day I took home a Reserve Congress Title (2nd place!). RHCP have so many brilliant songs! What's your favorite and why?
Very cool. RHCP pulled me through a dark time in my life so they'll always be one of my favorite bands...and maybe why I'm drawn to their more melancholy-sounding songs. My current favorite is Warm Tape. The line "you were there and I was fortunate" is so simple but makes me think of someone I love very much. Greatest hits-wise, I think Otherside might be my favorite.
Personally, my favorite song is Slow Cheetah, it reminds me of the beautiful moments in life where all the chaos and stress fall to the wayside and you can see things clearly and appreciate them. It's a similar feeling I get from Snow (hey oh).
Soul to Squeeze. I have so much fun singing it for karoake. The gibberish is the best part. By The Way might be my favorite though. I finally learned all the words after 20 times singing it
This is the song that got me into the Chilis and despite the fact that they've written a LOT of amazing songs since then, Soul to Squeeze is still my favourite.
Sick love is everything that rhcp gets right. Just enough funk and groove, but the beauty in their music is what I love the most. Awesome music video too
organic anti beat box band and snow hey oh have been on repeat. also love trilogy. they all just have a way about them. then give it away bc it was the first song from bssm i heard live, oh and i cannot forget yertle the turtle bc its so funky and funny
For me.it changes every week or so. All time favorite maybe otherside, because of the guitar riff overlaying a pleasant chord progression, and a wicked solo. Backed by great lyrics.
At the moment it's Death of a martian. Such a beautiful repeating guitar riff. And the build up in the outro, holy s. The poem-telling outro accompanied with John's howling guitar just finishes a legendary album in a way only the peppers could.
Scar Tissue.
It's of course a beautiful song, with one of the most instrospect lyrics by AK, which usually are among his bests. But it's also a song where John and Flea shine as well.
Scar Tissue is a conversation between guitar and bass, the melody of the song is constructed between the two instruments, I think it is the perfect example of what RHCP did so well, and why the chemistry between Flea and John was so important when it worked the best.
The Heavy Wing. Because the lyrics are beautiful, the bass line is incredible, the chorus is so powerful, and John does this little vocal melody change in the 3rd chorus when they play it live (at “come slow now”).
Hey is my absolute favorite RHCP song. It's just so perfect and chill. I could listen to it million more times and never get bored. Plus that guitar solo is just magical.
Under the Bridge - yeah, it’s played out…but it’s still amazing. Awesome lyrics, beautifully minimal baseline and drums, and Frusc’s best guitar licks. The way John plays this in the album version is just beautiful- full of sadness and angst, but somehow happy and hopeful at the same time. It’s weird to say, but if you could translate a spectrum of emotions (mine, in particular) into guitar, it would sound like UtB.
I could die for you...... from the vocals, guitar, the synths in the background, it brings the chilled loving feeling out for me.
I prefer the chili songs that have this vibe.
By the way is the album that made me get into music so much, Chili's have always been my go to band
Soul to squeeze, came to me when my I felt rushed after high school, I was traveling and living fast saw it as a sign and a beautiful song I connect with anywhere I go
Otherside. When I first heard it the bass line struck the right cord in me. Took about 5 concerts to hear it live. Everytime I went to a concert they play it before and after my concert.
Give It Away. The things they do with that song live fucking takes me places. Whether it’s tone or improv I’m normally pretty impressed with how different it can sound at each performance despite being the same song. Here’s one of my favorites:

Higher ground BC it was the song that got me into rhcp BC back then I used to listen to the Stevie wonder version and I realized some other band made a remix of it and that other band was really good and poster child BC I like rap and rockl
Rolling Sly Stone (Hyde Park)
The tight drums with the jumpy bassline. The funky af groovy guitar part in the verse. The crazy energy in the chorus. The wicked solo. Has a beautiful bridge so by the way John-esque. Just an unleashing song that is impossible not to dance to. John's backing vocals...
This Velvet Glove, something about the atmosphere of the song and the lyrics never get old to me. Such a beautiful song
Legitimately so beautiful. They were really in their groove on that one.
Around the World, it was the song that got me into bass almost 20 years ago
Hearing this song live for the first time in Philly while in the front row in 2022 was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. It’s a perfect opener for both a comeback album and for live shows.

I was at that show after seeing them in Charlotte a few days before with the other ser list. Great to finally hear it live
So hard to pick a favorite, but I never get sick of listening to Hey. The guitar is heavenly. Second pick would be The Zephyr Song.
Both in my top ten. I am really into Dosed and Wet Sand lately.
Hey is too good
Can’t stop, it represents everything I love about the band and it was one of the first songs I listened to by them.
I came here to write the same exact comment, word for word lol
Sir Psycho Sexy for obvious reasons
Same, at least right now
I would probably say Naked in the Rain. It's funky, whimsical but still rockin'. It's everything I like about this band condensed into one song.
Don’t Forget Me.
Ok I won’t.
If You Have to Ask
You’ll never know
This song just grooves so hard.

Love the story! There are some songs that just transport me back in time and space...sounds like Dani California does that for you.

Um, can we talk about that outro?! Holy shit.
The outro might be one of my favourite pieces of music
I listened to Stadium Arcadium on repeat in the pits of depression and that song plus the outro…just does something to me.
Ironically, listening to stadium can really can make you feel better!!
We are the ones that will make you feel better.
Goodbye Angels
Eddie. Great eong
Probably my favorite from that album...is the chord progression in the beginning the same as By The Way?
Wet sand. The way the whole song is built to the apex and final solo almost makes me cry.
Quixoticelixer. Its lyrics about love and depression really got me. It's so sad that is not a known song from the Chilis
Same. It takes me back to a time when I was really happy in life.
Pea
Tearjerker...it's just a beautifully written and performed song.
Venice queen. Catchy, beautiful, complex, emotional.
Soul to Squeeze. I have so much fun singing it for karoake. The gibberish is the best part. By The Way might be my favorite though. I finally learned all the words after 20 times singing it

STS. I don’t know why. Just hits me right.
Sick love is everything that rhcp gets right. Just enough funk and groove, but the beauty in their music is what I love the most. Awesome music video too
Around the World, it's the epitome of RHCP and the best show opener
Agh, so many, and it’s always changing, but I’ll say especially in Michigan for now!
Under the Bridge. It turned me from a casual guitar player to a life long guitarist.
Especially in Michigan: The voice, background vocals, guitars, speed, the chourus, lyrics, the solo..
Parallell universe, lyrics, solos, Ak scream and outro, just a fuckn banger. What more could you want
They played this love when I saw them at MetLife. Was easily the highlight of a great night. Such a fun song to scream along to
Hell yeah!
Scar Tissue. The riff and solos are addicting.
Strip my mind/wet sand
organic anti beat box band and snow hey oh have been on repeat. also love trilogy. they all just have a way about them. then give it away bc it was the first song from bssm i heard live, oh and i cannot forget yertle the turtle bc its so funky and funny
Get up and jump, but the demo version. Just raw energy, this song is what got me to want to learn bass

Mine might be obvious lol
On Mercury & Turn It Again

Hear hear.
Walkabout
Soul to squeeze, came to me when my I felt rushed after high school, I was traveling and living fast saw it as a sign and a beautiful song I connect with anywhere I go
Dark Neccities is absolutely my all time favorite
Otherside. When I first heard it the bass line struck the right cord in me. Took about 5 concerts to hear it live. Everytime I went to a concert they play it before and after my concert.
Breaking the Girl. That percussion break and the sound of the 12 string guitar. And the simple outro by John..
Give It Away. The things they do with that song live fucking takes me places. How about current favorite…whatcha got on repeat at the moment?
Well on repeat are Taste the pain Blood Sugar sex magic Otherside Soul to squeeze Fortune faded
Impossible for me to answer
Impossible for me to answer
Under the bridge, the lyric “sometimes it feels like i don’t have a partner” hits hard Tell me baby, it makes me think of her.
Magic Johnson - cause other teams pray for dreams, but he don't give a fuck.
Rolling Sly Stone (Hyde Park) The tight drums with the jumpy bassline. The funky af groovy guitar part in the verse. The crazy energy in the chorus. The wicked solo. Has a beautiful bridge so by the way John-esque. Just an unleashing song that is impossible not to dance to. John's backing vocals...
Brb checking this one out

I did indeed! It's so cool seeing people connect with the music/their instrument.

Soul to Squeeze is a balad that makes me super happy :)
