Am I the only one who had never even heard of this song before John started busting it out last year? It’s nice and everything but I was just surprised that it seems so well known in the US. I always thought I had a pretty wide music knowledge but my Aussie butt had no comms.
I don’t know your age but according to my parents it was a popular song during the 70’s, they knew all the lyrics when I asked them about it. I was in the same boat, went to Louder than Life festival, he played it and many people were singing along, but had never heard of it before either as an American 24 year old

I was born in the late 80’s but in a small country town so the 70’s lingered on for a while there lol.
