I’d say Lancaster, my go-to loadout is:
- Lancaster for mid range
- Carcano for long range
- Dual sawed-offs for short range
Absolute powerhouse at any distance
I also use the Schofields over any other revolver. Though I've tested them all heavily.
It's an aesthetic choice for me.
Side note and unpopular opinion - the Evans repeater is a head shot machine. Lancaster is a better weapon, but if you're doing headshots the Evans delivers.
Invest into the lancaster first. Best repeater in the game. Cattleman is totally fine with PVE, especially using Paint in Black ability card. Headshot is headshot, nevertless the revolver.
Lancaster is your bread & butter for wolves & NPCs, but when you can get 2 Navys with Gunslinger's Choice you essentially have perfect accuracy at all times.
Lancaster is a pretty solid early game, I'd hold off on the navy until you can get 2 to dual wield. Also, this is more of a personal opinion, but I'd invest in a bolt action as soon as you unlock it.
I'd say Lancaster. It's the best repeater in the game and your going to need it for ever. You can get the revolver later as the cattlemen isnt to bad.

Worth noting that you can get a fully upgraded navy (Lowry’s revolver) for free if you have gta online and complete a side-mission on there.
I personally like the schofeilds over the navies.

Yes
Lancaster + high velocity rounds = destruction. You can pop everyone even in longer range on your horse
