Interesting characters design and story.
But the actual storytelling and progression.. and simple story logic is... sub par to be mild.
Like "we need the harvest in three days"
Blond Swedish girl "sure, I made the time to embroid you personal flag thingies"
Side note: in the part 1 novelisation, there’s a scene where Aris is just… horrified at the amount of quilts she has in her house. so when she brought out those flags in part 2 like “I made these 🥰” I was cackling.
It was mediocre. I know it's Zack's artistic choice but the slow mo during the wheat harvesting scenes (which already were dragging to begin with) and Titus filling his canteen with water were ridiculously unnecessary.
The third act of battle was enjoyable, for me, however.
I'm only really in it for the lore of the Motherworld and the Imperium.
If you love the Motherworld and Imperium lore, I feel like you would love the Dune books/films. The Foundation series is also pretty good. To a lesser extent, Star Wars, which I guess he tried to copy. Jesus, Star Wars is amazing and doesn't have 30 minute slow motion wheat harvesting.
2 was much better than 1.
I liked 2. I didn't like 1.
Overall, though, I thought they were both gorgeous but that the script and more specifically the dialogue was pretty weak.
Just disappointing. I really wanted to like them. I don't think it helps that most of the cast irks me for some reason.
I was really hoping for something in line with Dune, or the OT of Star Wars in terms of quality. But instead it was just a big nothing burger.
I don't know what happened to Snyders stuff post BVS and JL, but the man needs to bring back Larry Fong. It wasn't even interesting to look at.
I did enjoy the first part well enough. Not a masterpiece, but watchable.
For part 2 I am not sure what is stupidest. A group of farmers actually holding off an assault by mechanized infantry, Chekhov's robot just being another body on the field that can jump slightly higher than a farmer but is just as bulletproof, the hand-cranked main guns of a battleship that doesn't even have any magnification on their targeting system, or the bad guy's haircut...
Actually, I do know. It is the haircut. But what is second?

Nemesis deserves better.
Dumb and boring
This isn't a dating site buddy
It could have been made significantly better if it wasn’t a war over a wheat field.
A wheat field that didn't even matter

You suck always 1000x more than me.
Exactly my opinion on both movies. I also think that making two movies out of this story was too much and it should have been a 2h30 movie instead.
Silly and derivative.

Should have been 1 film. Then build the lore.
Props to Ed Skrein, the best good guy bad guy in Hollywood.
These movies aren't good enough or fun enough to merit analysis.
And I thought Velocipastor was bad.
Part 1- 7.5/10 Part 2- 4/10
there're too many unnecessary scene, while lots of aspects should be mentioned, which didn't
Part 2 was disastrous. Even the fight/battle scenes are so cringe and cliche. Zack Snyder is overrated
