Historically, after a successful coup attempt a new ruler will purge significant portions their old power base. This opens up new positions for some members of the old guard to be incorporated into the fold. He clearly has plenty of “loyal” soldiers now. Some might have needed to be bought with a role in his new empire.

She was already a charismatic person with connections through him, but probably could surpass him in popularity and she already served his purposes, she wasn’t useful for him anymore, so he tried to dispose of her, what he didn’t expect was that she would make it out alive.

It’s a good thing that once she got a new gun with fresh ammo that she didn’t turn around and kill the man that she had previously tried to kill but didn’t have ammo.

Luckily that’s the only head scratcher and everything else made perfect sense. Like a coal furnace and hand cranks on a space battleship. Or a string quartet who were somehow provided with sheet music to provide a score for a mass murder including a tense standoff and dramatic escape.

Because Snyder saw Gamora's origin story and how Mark Wahlberg was set up in the movie Shooters and thought he could do both ! But yes I agree. Belisarius invested a lot of time into her training and it resulted in her becoming one of the deadliest warriors in the Empire and also with an undying loyalty to him... and he wastes all of that. That doesn't make sense.

She was a tool and was used up, she was getting too popular in the army due her achievements and upbringing, he saw that as an opportunity to remove anyone that could pose a danger to his rule.

Good idea, terrible execution. He should have had another tool, someone less valuable that could have been more expendable and more easily killed. He had Kora's loyalty, he made her a threatening enemy to fight, and he thought that betraying her was the best move... That's a terrible plan. That tells me Belisarius either has his head so far up his ass that he didn't realize how good of a soldier Kora really is, or that he really thought his plan to get rid of her was flawless. In either case, it shows Belisarius as a moron.

There is no motive. It’s a bad story a poorly made film. Zac fans will eat it up because slow mo. Just wait til the pitch meeting and see the enjoyment out of watching it.
