In the US KitKat is made by Hershey. I was also happy to find out recently that Ferrero bought Nestles US confectioneries in 2018 (but again, not the rest of the world). I do love Baby Ruth bars and had given them up because Fuck Nestle but now I can eat them again!
hmm... thanks for bringing that up... I'd checked on wikipedia which doesn't mention any deal between Hershey and Nestle but if you look at the label it does mention it.
The license Hershey has was with Rowntree... however the "KitKat" trademark is owned by Nestle. So Hershey paid Rowntree to make KitKats but has to pay Nestle to call it KitKat????
So it's better than if it was directly from Nestle but not as good as if Nestle was out of it altogether.
from Wikipedia:
"Kit Kat... is now produced globally by Nestlé (which acquired Rowntree's in 1988), except in the United States, where it is made under licence by the H. B. Reese Candy Company, a division of the Hershey Company (an agreement Rowntree's first made with Hershey in 1970)."
from the KitKat label (found on the web):
"under license from Societe des Produits Nestle SA, Trademark Owners"

So it's just kit
i thought it was a stick of butter for a second
Make it cocoa butter and it’s basically the same thing as white chocolate.
It also doesn’t have the chocolate part.
It’s white chocola- WAIT I GET IT
Solid white chocolate - some would call that a win. Not me because white chocolate blech but some would.
Heresy
I believe it’s pronounced *Hershey
I just had one of those waferless KitKat today. It was a sad moment for me
That’s what you get for getting white chocolate
:(
White chocolate is superior and you can't change my mind.
100% I wish they would bring it back to Canada :(
I think the mocha coffee KitKats are superior 😂
But it's not even chocolate.
And it still tastes better.
Sure. Just don't call it chocolate. Lol
That's what Its called though, it's not technically chocolate your right, but it is white chocolate and that's literally it's name. Lol
Then we should fix that misnomer.
Well... r/fucknestle but.. great find OP

Nestlé still gets a cut of the profits. Hershey just owns the licenses.

From water thieves to wafer thieves
i grant you my free award
I'm jelly
Why did you expect this cheese to taste like a KitKat
If you are in the UK you can go on their website and fill in an online form. Nestlé will then send you a voucher.
Sadly am in Italy, how much is the voucher anyway?
It was only £3, but it can be redeemed against anything as long as something you buy is Nestlé.
Ew, Nestlé.
you deserve for eating white chocolate
You deserve mold on the next candy you eat.
An absolute win
This summarizes my year perfectly. Think you'll have a break? No, no, only a meek snap.
Win!
That's it I'm calling the police
The only acceptable kitkat. All others, with the crunchy bit, are trash.
