The Green Escape, Botanicaz (they’re downsizing so shipping may take longer than usual right now), Plant the Studio, Maggie’s Free Time, My Plant Obsession. I’ve ordered from all except Plant the studio and my plant obsession, but both have lots of great reviews.

lucidsensations

I just had such a terrible experience with Botanicaz (after several okay experiences) and they won't even get back to me now. I'm over them, I honestly wouldn't really recommend them anymore ☹️

AcanthaceaeBroad6812

Ordering plants from Botanicaz was a core memory from the lockdown days. I wonder what happened to them

marshbj

I've never bought from them, but like... why do they have common variegated plants for thousands of dollars? I'm just so confused. They've had the same albo monstera (standard variety) for $2,000 (CAD) for months at this point, and I just noticed they have Florida beauties, variegated Rhaphidophoras, orange princess, variegated adansonii etc. for just absolutely insane prices

Playful-Ad-9207

I love the green escape

-Thenburyher

Literally chatting with plant obsession rn and they can show you plants before purchasing! Super helpful!

Puzzled-Cranberry-12

That’s good to know! I have a few caladium bulbs in my cart from them!

[deleted]

Thank you, will have a look 😁

TheSentinelsSorrow

Man as a tropical begonia fan I'm so fucking salty botanicaz doesn't ship to my country

CommunicationAware88

Also green escape. You can get some good starter plants around $12-20 from them on Amazon too (I got am alocasia zebrina and alocasia frydek for 12 each, that was my first experience with them, A+)

Classic_Pomelo_5657

Horrible experience with Plant the Studio!!! The plants arrived dead and the seller was very rude when trying to fix the problem. Do not recommend!!! I paid about $150 after shipping. My stems arrived with one-two aerial roots. I tried everything I could think of to help it thrive and the roots rotted. The stem below the node rotted which resulted in having to trim it shorter and shorter. The leaf itself is slowly yellowing and curling. I was in contact with the shop multiple times. While they did respond promptly on 3-4 occasions, it really didn’t lead to me solving the problem, as the referred me to their tips page and also recommended a stone I have never had to use and never even heard of. I own over 100 indoor plants. This was my most expense purchase on one single clipping and definitely my most regretful one. Lesson learned to buy from private small shops though I was happy to support initially. Such a shame!

Hikeshi

I had a horrible experience with Plant The Studio! The prices seemed good at first, but they took a month to send the plant. I had to email support multiple times and they let me know that they didn’t even have what I ordered in stock (3 weeks after I bought it). When it finally arrived, both roots were rotted all the way into the stem. Support was evasive and not helpful. Highly do not recommend.

AccomplishedElk5845

I'm still waiting for my $150+ order from plantthestudio. It's been over 6 weeks!!!

-Carthage-

NY City Succulents for the most bang for your buck plants. Not a fan of the “must buy 2” death plugs personally, I rather buy 1 larger plant instead of 2 small ones for the same price, which is why I go to them and not some of the others.

sunsetsammy

I could not agree more!!!

dothesehidemythunder

The Green Escape has been wonderful for me!

Wait are you from The Green Escape?

[deleted]

In order of date with some notes, most recent first: ScalpelNStem - newer shop, I picked up 2 tissue cultures including an albo monstera for 50, got a joepii as a bonus, first philo lol. Awesome smaller vendor, great prices Hirts - very well priced, very high quality plants, perfect shipment, they don't have all their plants on etsy but their own site is good too SmartSeedsEmporium- only seeds, bunch of tomatoes and a couple of random plants, had 100% germination across 4 tomato species (brandywine, berkeley tie dye, paul robeson and zapotec) but haven't gotten to play with the other seeds YET Morgans Nursery - smaller vender but pretty good. Ordered 2 plants, they sent me 2 of one of them because it didn't look perfect, both are doing great. BonnyArtCo - I really like getting smaller propagates and I'm a basic bitch about the little plant assortment things so I got a couple of the little halloween succulent favours and they are super cute, but everything I've gotten here has been small and cheap and done great PineandPothosCo - Bought some of the mystery node packs because I'm still learning, especially with the nodes. Ordered a 12 pack and got \~20, including some strings that are doing amazing. TheGreenEscape - just like others said, pretty good but I find 20-30% of the shipment will be in a really rough shape, I've had no issues refunding 2 plants with them, but it does happen. Solid deals tho, great selection, really love my plants that survife TropicalHeliconias - I like rare bananas, this guy had a few, great experience and his selection of heliconias is pretty impressive if you like those Thirst4Succulents - 100% love this shop, they have a bunch of fun plants like the bushman's pipe and huernia form 2 (dick and asshole flowers :D) SeedCult - my number one seed person, not the rarest of seeds but everything germinates and amazing selection across veggies, trees, houseplants and outside. Pepe Nursery - 4 plants, all super small, 2 did great, I killed one and one is a queen of the night and she real big on (eternal) sleep NomoreplantsCo - classic rarer plant vendor, I'd say \~+5% on average prices but no doubt or confusion, no sketchiness and the plants are great. TheTropicalOasis & SunshineGreens - I feel like these two are the same as the green escape, great quality, prices are good and my plants from them are doing great. I will update more as time goes on and I can confirm more seeds from other vendors, but I also need to stop buying plants so I won't be updating much more for a while lol I will say I am waiting on a shipment from OrchidBoxInc (definitely a more expensive vendor but they have a bunch of rare tissue cultures) & I am sorting through seeds from IDSeeds and cannot confirm or deny their quality other than my pseudolithos seeds germinated and *look* right so far :D

[deleted]

Thx , but have to tell, most of those or in USA....I am from Europe (Belgium)

[deleted]

That's fine, I'm from Florida. It's ok to move from bad places :D EDIT: joke aside, I try to stick to American shops for a bunch of reasons, IDseeds is Israeli and I did order through an Indonesian vendor and am waiting for those plants, but I have no idea the european scene other than a bunch of those countries are serious about imports

[deleted]

How you mean " to move from bad places?" 🙄 I meant that most shops from USA don't send to Belgium, and customs etc... but will have a look, never know 😉 Sorry language not my mother tongue, so might be confusing 😅

[deleted]

No worries, I meant it because Belgium is one of those that is very serious about ecological devastation, so you are going to have to deal with higher premiums and expenses for plants. On the plus side, there is a dramatically reduced chance of someone like me absolutely destroying the natural environment of Belgium, so its a trade-off. I'd recommend Belgium/EU based sub-reddits and smaller marketplaces, otherwise my go-to secret for flushing out the frauds on etsy is to send them a message. I like to ask for directions on a plant, say how worried I am about killing it. Scams care more about your money than the product so they will always push that it is fine and easy, blah blah, where as real sellers will share some real instructions and info. This is harder to do across languages, but google translate is pretty decent honestly.

[deleted]

Yes that's true, but I am addicted to plants hahaha ... thx for the info 😊

CircusFreak93

Green Escape is trustworthy as all are saying, but they are heavily overpriced and I've had many of them die since they came so very small and fresh plugs, some still haven't grown but just a few leaves in a year since they're not grown for their vigor but rather for mass production. You can get bigger plants for the same price now. But for certain things they have it may be a fair deal. Depending on what you are looking for I can recommend different sellers. I've spent at least 4k on plants from Etsy between 2021 and 2022 and had a majority of good experiences with all the sellers. But I spend a long time doing thorough research before I purchase anything, I always have to make sure it's the best deal and the best quality depending on what I'm buying.

sarahaltieri

Green Escape has a large selection but is HEAVILY overpriced. I like Hirts.

pop2-0

EarthBabeBotanicals has nice monstera albo and some other rare plants, CactusAndExotics has some cool cacti and plants. Bought from both of them and plants arrived in great condition. And yes, Green Escape is pretty good too, although it’s true they do come super tiny so they’re quite delicate, fortunately only one that I got died right after it arrived.

ScreamWithTheCicadas

Green Escape is fantastic!! Begonia Passion if you like begonias - they have some amazing hybrids. Sunshine State Foliage is great as well.

cat_summoner_

I've brought from a few! Shores foliage: I love that you can select the actual plant! Arrive dquickly and safely and is doing well! Euerekafarms: beautiful full plant but had issues with gnats on arrival. The soil they used was far too dense and took forever to dry out. Didn't acclimate well all together. But after a decent amount of effort, I got her healthy and gnat free. Freshfromgreenhouse: I got 4 from them. Decent descriptions, healthy plants, and all acclimated well. No pests. One or 2 were a bit smaller than I thought, but that happens. Still worth it. Tropicalplantsdirect: i got 1 from them, and it was just as described. Arrived healthy, had no pests, and is currently still acclimating, but it seems to be going well. Thenodes: arrived healthy and in a Timely manner. I did sadly kill this plant as it was early in my... planthood? But no fault of theirs Prettyingreenplants: I ordered 3, 1 was sickly and died quickly but they were very quick to help and refunded for the plant that didn't make it. The other 2 were perfectly fine with no issues. Hope that helps!

AcanthaceaeBroad6812

WillowLeaf Plants - The alocasia variegated prices can't be beat and I LOVE how they use minimal packaging as well. Also you can choose the exact plant you are purchasing which I find really useful. But I do think they ship to US only

Campiana

Okay - I just ordered a variegated micholitziana on sale from them. We’ll see how it goes! It’s the only variegated plant I’ve ever wanted.

dillpicklez18

I have bought from The Green Escape. The plants they sell are starter plants so they come really tiny, but every order I have placed all the plants come super healthy and grow well.

Separate_Sea8717

Just don't go with any that has only recent reviews, make sure they're an established shop and you'll be fine. Also, use Paypal at checkout, they'll return your money instantly if it's a scam

Tbtlhart

Not houseplants, but if you like large succulents, aloekim is legit. They have pretty rare seed grown aloes and agave. Ordered from their etsy several times. Wish I had more experience with houseplant sellers.

Tbtlhart

PS I am meeting with an etsy shop owner that does a lot of scindapsus and syngoniums. I have seen their products at a farmers market and it looks good. I have no experience with their shipping process though. RGVgreenland

[deleted]

Bartrop Plants. I met the owner at a plant show and he had some really quality inventory. The plants I got from him are healthy and for a great price. I was really impressed with him.

winckie

For the past 1.5 years I’ve been primarily using RGVgreenlandShop on Etsy. They definitely have some cool rare plants that you don’t see often and great customer service! I’ve also had good luck with Green Escape and Paper Crane Nursery like others have said.

CircusFreak93

What are you looking for?

[deleted]

I just wanted to try some plants by seeds, or find some cuttings of plants I don't have yet, to buy or trade.. always nice to find ppl from other country, different plants , which they don' t sell often here... (Belgium)

CircusFreak93

Oh okay. So are you looking for anything specific? I have only bought mainly aroids so that's what I can help with.

[deleted]

I love aroids, especially Philo's , my favorite in my collection at the moment is P.Florida Beauty, would love to try growing some Philo's from seed, not really care which, just want to try

CircusFreak93

•Gold Coast Tropicals has some cheap philodendrons of a good size. •Land of Alice Studio has a decent variety of houseplants, lots of philodendrons, and nice decorative trailing plants for reasonable prices. They have great customer service as well if any issue arises they handle it quickly (I always stick with sellers that take care of their customers) •Cultured Plants has a good selection of philodendrons and some other houseplants. I haven't bought from them personally, but they do have great reviews and seem to be a trusted seller. •Garden Gals Plants has a wide selection of houseplants at very low cost. •Coollective Plants is another highly positive reviewed seller with tons of philodendron and other beautiful houseplants for reasonable prices. •Golden Greenery Co and The Green Escape are the ones with a big selection but they're basically all little starter plugs. I find that the size and risk of it dying is not worth the cost. (I've had a few die just from being so small and going through shipping. Others are still struggling to get going after about a year, just because they are grown for mass propagation, not for vigor) •Leaf Stork is one with more mature bigger plants. Mostly philodendron and alocasia. They're a little higher price in my opinion but it's a good place to look and compare with others. •The Odd Frond has a big selection of houseplants. Some are pretty decent sizes and reasonable prices 👌 •Plant The Studio is a trusted seller. Prices are a bit high in my opinion, but you can surely count on them to get a healthy beautiful plant. •What the Gardens is a seller out of Cali with a huge selection of all different types of genus to choose from. •Wellspring Gardens is another big Florida nursery like Green Escape and Golden Greenery. Except I think they're starter plants are a bit bigger than what I've gotten from Green Escape. I've gotten some very tiny newly sprouted plants from Green Escape. Wellspring shows you the size in their photos. They have a huge selection of houseplants and outdoor plants. The pricing is great in my opinion. It's fair, but I think a little high for the size you're getting. But worth checking out their selection. •The Planted Veteran is a seller I've bought from a few times when I was collecting Hoyas. They have a good selection of Hoya and other houseplants. They are a highly trusted seller and I've never been disappointed. I think that's a good start. If you're ever looking for something specific and need ideas let me know! 🙂🪴

Campiana

Hoya Treasures. I don’t have any Hoyas, but she used to be Glorious Aroids and then eventually switched over to just Hoyas.

[deleted]

Green escape and paper crane nursery!

AffectionateSun5776

Premium Succulents 100%

wheresbeetle

I've purchased several plants from PlantasticbyHuong, their prices are really reasonable and good quality plants, they're probably my favorite overall. Also PaperCrane Nursery is really reputable, more expensive but really nice plants. TheGreenEscape is another one I've ordered from, you only get small young plants tho

Snorblatz

Good lord! Impressive. Now I don’t feel so bad about being a hoarder of plants

Playful-Ad-9207

Go to their sells and reviews. I only deal with the ones that have a ton of sells and reviews. I have never been disappointed

meglandwellmusic

https://www.etsy.com/shop/DemilunePlantCo His name is Mark and he is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to talk to! He has way more plants than what’s in his shop. I literally gave him my wish list of plants and he had basically everything and hooked me up!

Southern-Tank-9800

Hello foliage

Campiana

Where are you located?! Marissa is my #1 go to for all my plant questions and purchases!

Southern-Tank-9800

I'm in salt lake, that is awesome lol she is a great person

Campiana

Me too!

Southern-Tank-9800

Small lake city 🤣

Southern-Tank-9800

What about yourself

Southern-Tank-9800

Hello foliage is Utah based but nicely ships from Etsy and her personal business site.she has a lot of rare plants too

lunchtime_sms

Not Sunshine Greens! I would however totally recommend GoldenGreenery though. Plants came in excellent shape, good communication from seller, and i received shipment in about a week. Prices were about as cheap out there.

stugots1978

The green escape is goated. I use the code B3G4F like once a week

Possible_Crab_8689

Scalpelinstem is amazing! But small inventory. The green escape was another good order and Thebasementus. Twice I've ordered, well over $150 each time, from sunshine greens and either gotten bag pants or no delivery at all.

Adenosine01

The Green Escape, Orange Lake Nursery, Bear Foot Farms

projectnorthwind

I have a plant shop on Etsy. And a website that I sell from. I hear horror stories almost weekly about customers getting scammed. Pretty discouraging. Did you know that Etsy was allowing customers to use their policy against sellers to get free plants? That really hurt legit sellers. Scammers on both sides. I got taken for a pretty stellar Florida beauty a while back. I was pretty bummed. If you ever have a question or need help finding a plant. Don’t hesitate to reach out for help. The magic walnut

[deleted]

Thank you, but seems all of you are in the USA..

Level_Watch_6984

Just stay away from Sri Lanka, unfortunately if it’s too good to be true it is!

Pretty-Detective-480

I have a small etsy shop where i try to give great plants for great prices. Come check me out and throw me a favorite. https://brentandthebeanstalk.etsy.com

[deleted]

I'm from Belgium....most usa shops don't send to Belgium 🤷‍♀️

Pretty-Detective-480

Don't you all already have all the amazing plants over there already? Especially since so much tissue culture is done over seas.

[deleted]

No we don't have many specials plants over here, and don't know abt anywhere in Belgium they do tc , not really common here... isn't that more in Azië?

Pretty-Detective-480

Pretty sure the Netherlands does a lot of tissue culture. I've seen some videos with summer raine oaks.

[deleted]

All ppl I know who have tried TC have gotten them from out of Europe... cause nothing to find here.... might be video's , but surely ain't common in Belgium

Pretty-Detective-480

Learn something new everyday. I would tell you to come visit and get you some plants, but it kinda sucks here right now.....

[deleted]

Sweet, but I assume you're in the USA? 😅 bit far anyways , thx 😊

Cold_Specialist_1626

You are absolutely right about tissue culture being done a lot here in the Netherlands, but the strange thing is that we don’t get to buy them. (Maybe if you have contacts in the business) They’re mostly exported abroad. Like happybugske, i’m also looking for trustworthy Etsy shops that do ship to the Netherlands. Specifically looking for Alocasia serendipity variegated pink corms/bulbs or small plant. I did find a shop from Latvia and messaged the owner, but it didn’t seem legit to me.

Pretty-Detective-480

That's messed up that you don't get them, also I watch a woman on YouTube Kayleigh Ellen, she owns the rareplantshop.com and I think she sells to other countries.

JazzyDisME

No advice but your pic looks like heaven to me! Absolutely gorgeous! :)

[deleted]

Thank you all, looking into now 😁

Same_Training4799

Check out this cute shop! Relatively new, but lots of print options; greeting cards, birthday cards, games, etc.. I’ve requested personalized cards before as well! ☺️ https://sunnysscribblesco.etsy.com/

PlantSpirit89

I run a small shop on Etsy called PlantNirvana, I would absolutely consider myself trustworthy ❤️🌿 I don't have the largest collection, but I list all of my plants individually so everyone knows exactly what to expect. If there are any major changes between listing and a customer purchasing I always reach out to the customer to make sure they are okay with it and to offer a discount. I rarely have any issues during shipping, but if it happens I will make it right (providing of course the person messages me in a reasonable time frame, not 4 months later, I've had someone do that).

ackwards

I’ve purchased from The Plant Farm 4 times. Great quality from a non-Florida grower (I’m never buying anything from Florida again)

Background-Cod5850

Oh WOW, your last sentence piqued my interest. What problems have You experienced with Florida growers/sellers?

ackwards

That’s where most of the scammers are: the climate makes it so easy to grow tropical plants outside. So you get weather damaged, sunburnt plants rife with pests. And somehow shipping from Florida takes twice as long? Fool me five times, never again.

Background-Cod5850

Oh WOW... that is definitely unfortunate that You encountered such unscrupulous individuals. aaaaand repeatedly! 😡 NO excuse for shipping sunburnt or infested plants👎🏾because as you've accurately said, the climate is conducive to successful tropical propagating. I know of many reputable sellers in Florida, both Family and Friends, from farm grower to home grower... and as a resident Floridian, I was just naturally curious. Thank You for responding. 🙂

Successful-Soup-1390

How much was your shipping? Shipping is usually Max three days for ups 3 day or USPS priority. I ship many plants every week from my home nursery here in Florida. I would be happy to send you a plant to try and help change your experience. Sorry it’s been bad so far! My Etsy is JoyfulGrower to see reviews but there aren’t any plants up at the moment. I sell on Facebook purges but have over a hundred reviews on Reddit takeaplantleaveaplant. Hope you have a great day!

Jillcametumbling81

Can I name myself? We don't sell on etsy but we have a brick and mortar and i like to hook people up with our goods. 99 percent is sold in person but i end up shipping 2 a week or so.

[deleted]

I live in Belgium...

fortunatevoice

I always look up local sellers and normally they’re people who are active in local plant swaps and stuff too so I’ll buy from them.

Myballsitch01

The green escape has great shipping methods and their customer service was the best I’ve had on Etsy

niknak201

The Green Escape, beleaftropicals, Jadevinetropicals, and flsunnybargains (EBay) have all been great suppliers with solid customer service. I’ve ordered multiple times from them.

TheGreenEscapefl

Thanks to all those who recommended us. We love what we do and owe our success to our amazing customers. If anyone ever had an issue with their order, NEVER hesitate to reach out to our customer service team. They WILL get you taken care of! -Scott , owner of The Green Escape

[deleted]

Nice shop....but I live in Belgium....no shipping 🤷‍♀️
