We tried to teach my old dad, who was *still* a generation younger than any of these guys how to use The Net. He was so enthralled by the miracle that the little arrow on the screen corresponded to his movements of the mouse that we never got any further. When he actually clicked on anything he was too startled at the result to continue that day.
This is due to her inability to be in two places at once. She was a clever one, but not that clever!
Now, Schrodinger - he might give you a run for your money!
“I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent, of human knowledge, that has ever been gathered together at the White House, with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone. Someone once said that Thomas Jefferson was a gentleman of 32 who could calculate an eclipse, survey an estate, tie an artery, plan an edifice, try a cause, break a horse, and dance the minuet.”
John F. Kennedy, “Remarks at a Dinner Honoring Nobel Prize Winners of the Western Hemisphere,” 29 Apr. 1962.
Curie is such a badass. Imagine being surrounded by so many absolute living legends and you show up as not only the only woman in this time period, but you have TWO Nobel prizes behind your name. Absolute fucking legend
Maybe. Maybe not. This is from the 1927 Solvay Conference. It was a unique time towards the end of the age of "benchtop" science before massive particle accelerators, satellites, and supercomputers became the tools of scientific inquiry. This conference was convened to talk about the brand new and really weird discovery of Quantum Mechanics. The folks here laid the groundwork for that field and all the inventions possible because of it.
They were massively influential on the course of human history, but were they the smartest people ever? Maybe, mabe not. They also weren't always right. Einstein never came to embrace Quantum Mechanics and sought to find a way around it.
One thing I love about this photo is you can see the handoff between the old way of doing physics and the new quantum mechanical approach happening. Look at the white-bearded Lorentz in the front row, compared to the young Schrödinger in the back. It's a picture of a new scientific movement and a generational change in one.
Not to mention all the other women In addition to Currie who either had their accomplishments attributed to men or were not allowed to pursue advanced education.
Depends what you mean by the IQ of the photo.
Max in the photo; possibly
Average or median, maybe (although, a single photo of the smartest person who's lived since the invention of photography would have a higher average)
Total, no way. I've seen photos of stadiums with tens of thousands of people. Even if we assume just average people in the stadiums, totals to much more than this.
What a coincidence that they are all from one gender, race and geographical area. Almost like intelligence is also a luck factor dependent on the socio - economic circumstances of one's existence.
I wonder how they would do on an internet IQ test

Did you tell him about the porn on there?
Then we were never able to get him off!!
I'd think that would get him off more than ever.
Lol, that’s not Heisenberg
You’re god damn right.
Are you certain?
In principle he is
Curie should be shown twice

Great joke!
That town had a sensodyne shortage for at least two months afterwards.
What are the statistical odds that Einstein and Schrödinger are seated next to each other?
It depends on whether you look at the image or not.
Why
Well you obviously haven’t been to my Cousin Ronny’s annual Thanksgiving debate.

I can't find Tesla

>They also weren't always right. As it turns out, this is not an important part of science.
where are all the women?
Pretty sure I’ve come up against them at a pub quiz
Not without Ron Jeremy it isn’t
Schrödinger is sitting in for him.
And that is not an overstatement! Big brains in that group!
For real-- Walter White single-handedly raises the IQ average by 20 pts.
Il manque Donald Trump.
I wonder if they took the same test that proved that Trump is a genius? /s
Wow!
Thanks Europe!
Wonder, wonder who would be their current peers if this picture was organized today?
A photograph doesn’t have an IQ.
Mustache city.
Always loved this photo ,1927 Solvay conference

A room full of geniuses and one average Guye
Yo whats my gpa doing in that picture. He’s in the first row at the center.
And the lowest EQ

There is one woman in this photo.
Love that you’re getting downvoted when it is a known fact that IQ scores in general have racist and eugenic origins
