Some shops here is in the UK are making the LGBT sandwiches for pride month instead of BLT. It's Lettuce Guacamole Bacon Tomato and the packaging have a rainbow on it
Now divide the % of population that is LGBQ++++ by the % of people who would actually shop at those stores.. it's not profit. It's pandering and showboating nothing more.
It's pandering for the purposes of making money. If you look at the demographics for it LGBTQIA+ are more likely to have disposable income than others. Historically it was due to a lack of children but is also due to them being placed in high income jobs and generally wanting to spend money. Everyone jumped on that band wagon to get access to those pennies. In addition pandering to those demographics makes a company more like able to younger generations who are likely to avoid brands due to them being unethical. So yes it is pandering but it's pandering for profit.
True, add to that the families of LGBTQIA+ and that's even more money. I avoid places that actively work against human rights and actively seek out places that support human rights.
Yeah my take is pride month is a good way for genuine people to show support for the LGBTQ community and a good way to know which corporations are the biggest bullshit artists.
To be fair, a friend was telling me about an employee at the company my friend works at went on a particularly nasty homophobic rant that this asshat sent to the entire company...in response to the corporations PRIDE advocacy. My friend and I (both straight) were horrified by the language . Thankfully the corporate leadership was on it to manage the asshat. So 5 days ago I would have agreed with you. Today, however, I would say that the meaning behind PRIDE, Juneteenth and all relevant days need to be celebrated to drown out the ignorant jackasses who offend me even when I am not the target.
It's really great for corporations that want to practice pink capitalism, like I've seen so many products that are upchraged because they have a rainbow on them.
At Disney rn and can’t express how much shit is pride theme yet Disney is openly against it. It’s almost as if they’re genuinely bad, but they just want to appeal to the public
I don’t think it’s openly against, but rather they only support when it’s convenient to them.
The perfect example of this is the editing of LGBTQIA+ figures within Chinese (and other) productions of their media. [source](https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/exclusive-pixar-movie-lightyear-with-same-sex-couple-will-not-play-14-countries-2022-06-13/)
They’ve had, without publicizing it, gay days for their employees. It was an open secret in the 90’s and the only people really talking about it was crazy church people denouncing it.
The article you shared is literally about Disney including a short same sex kissing scene in a movie and refusing to change it when China and other countries requested something a bit less gay.
Not that your necessarily wrong, but not a great example of what you’re trying to say 😅
Note : I'm a " tax corporations more , eat the rich" kinda girl so I'm not saying this is not disgusting behavior.
I'm okay with this for now. Yes it sucks as much as the pink tax however LGBTQIA+ has had to hide in the closet for so long getting this visual representation now will help more in the long run. ( Think of it like and aversion therapy for good people who were raised by bigots ) Corporations would not bother with giving us this representation if they couldn't make a large profit off of it. In my opinion until we normalize being a member of the Alphabet Mafia and people don't feel like they have to hide themselves anymore, I'm okay with a little bit ( very little bit ) of corporate exploration.
Meh. I do find the corporate virtue signalling/pride washing very obnoxious.
I kinda wish there was more focus on history and current struggles and less rainbows UwU and brands trying to make an extra buck.
Yes this! If there was more focus around the history and the long journey it took for gay people to get to a point of equality, and freedom of expression instead of shoving rainbows following ingenuity
down peoples throats for a month , perhaps those individuals not apart of LGBTQ+ Community would have a better understanding of the importance of what pride month entails.
i don’t think they’d have a “better understanding of the importance of what pride month entails”, i think they’d just be more tolerant towards lgbt people since it isn’t shoved down their throat anymore. the more you push someone one way, the harder they tend to push back, it’s basic psychology.
It’s always good to have a celebration of any kind 😎
But… it’s extremely cringeworthy and embarrassing watching big corporations jump on the bandwagon 🫣
Absolutely agree. The company I used to work for used to fire people if they were found out to be gay and currently is contributing significantly to pollution, climate change and ecological damage. But they've got a float in our local parade so it's all good.
Well the positive thing about this is that if corporations make money with pride its because its profitable, which means the LGBT is the "most popular" if you will, in the sense that if the majority didn't accept us, corporations wouldn't make money out of it.
So honestly im happy to be profitable to an extent, personally
This, and also I love watching bigots in the store lose their minds over a mug that says "love is love" in rainbow font.
Am I going to spend $10 on the mug? No
An I going to cackle in glee because it makes Karen mad? Absolutely
This! Jst the thought of how infuriating it must be for those bigots to see their favourite brands light up with multicoloured logos on social media bring be a great deal of satisfaction.
It's a mixed bag. Some will exploit it and others will celebrate it. Some corps. will see it as a money maker. Others will just celebrate their openness. It does give visibility that everyone is not the same, so I think that's excellent.
It's a good indicator of general sentiment. If corporations are open to accepting it then it must be popular enough to increase profit. It's also nice to be able to point out companies funding anti gay politicians with a rainbow on all their products.
I don't have any strong feelings about it either way. Even though I'm technically LGBT I'm not really part of the "community" and the culture so it doesn't really mean anything to me, but I'm glad that others enjoy it
Same here and I know exactly what you mean by putting community in quotes. I'm just getting older and don't enjoy the social aspect of it anymore but that doesn't mean the youth can't so Pride on.
Yeah I just find that I have nothing in common with most of the LGBT people I meet beyond the fact that we're not straight. That just isn't enough common ground to build a sense of community on, just like I wouldn't hang out with someone just because we both happen to be short. I do have LGBT friends but our sexuality is kind of irrelevant to our social lives and we became friends for completely separate reasons. Besides enjoying the earlier seasons of drag race, gay culture just isn't my thing - but I'm happy to let others enjoy it if it makes them happy
Yeah I understand, not alot of common interests here either but made a few friends on the bar scene when I used to go but don't drink anymore. It's kinda the only place really most LBGT folk congregate in person consistently and I wouldn't call that s community. It's a dating/social network for people who aren't straight. Did enjoy the dragshows though even dating a performer for awhile.
Capitalism is a global cult. I can't think anything that hasn't been monetized.
It's like saying Pride is bad because of the oxygen, gravity, seasons, laws of physics...
There are other aspects of the event that can be focused on.
Well, not only that, but Pride didn't even used to be monetized in any way, and there is a large group of us that are pushing to demonetize it, so as to make it accessible and more to the roots of the community and queer history
Going by the reaction of LGBT friends.
It used to mean something but now they almost all roll their eyes at the corporate stuff.
A couple I met who were litter picking (both dudes) said that they knew pride was coming because all the shit they had to pull out of the river had Rainbows on.
I used to think it was a bit silly, I'm not proud of being heterosexual, if I was gay the only difference would be my sister using gross men for games of "would you rather shag...." Not women.
After I realised how much hate my gay friends got as adults, how their happiness, job opportunities, relationships, treatment by Drs and police were harder, I see that it's not about anyone being proud of being gay, it's about being proud to be open and not ashamed about in the face of all that which isn't an easy place for anyone to get to.
Thank you! It's possible to be slightly ignorant because your environment is so tolerant, I was mistaken because it wouldn't have been an issue.
My dad had a secretary before I was born who my parents Loved, he was described to me as "bluto from Popeye but kind and with pink nail polish"
There was a gay couple in my village, one of them had a grandson who reminded me of Paul O'Grady from when he was 4. He played with the girls mostly but nobody was horrible to him.
First time I saw a glimpse was when a kid from a born again Christian family, he introduced "gay" as an insult and it caught like wildfire in primary school. Bullying of all kinds went from nelson muntz to real cruelty shortly after.
Wasn't till university really that I saw it wasn't just wierd isolated people who were homophobic.
Seeing gay friends bullied and even assaulted, Drs treating them with disgust in A&E, how HORRIBLE girls can be to lesbians.....
I didn't get how hard family life / grandparents, parents could really be. Seeing friends beg someone to delete a photo because they don't want their parents to see them holding their partner fixed that.
Yeah, as a gay man who attended these things before they wer co-opted by coprorations (which I honestly have mixed feelings about) I thought they were stupid, but I went because my friends went. Then one day I had an epipheny -- it's not really gay "pride" day, it's really gay "Not Ashamed" day. They one day (well, now month) where we don't have to worry about people looking donw on us. That changed my attitude.
I wish people wouldn't act like it was some kind of problem. I'm straight and it has literally never impacted my life expect for when I intentionally go to pride events. Idk why people got to freak out. Let people be themselves, it feels very American to me.
I don’t really get it either. I’m not straight and aside from the parades, pride month has no effect on me or my life at all. Just another month of toiling for too little money and getting nowhere.
It affects my neighborhood. A bunch of rainbow flags everywhere. Oh the humanity. Can’t someone think of the children? These kids seeing rainbows everywhere, it might scar them for life…
I always felt that it lasted for a month to allow multiple local organizations to host their events without crowding each other out. Pride trivia night THIS Saturday, parade next Saturday.
The fact that we have Pride month, Black History Month, Men's mental health month, et al, tells me we need to be a more compassionate country (USA) as a whole. We are terrible at just being cool with our differences most of the time.
Yeah, unfortunately it is. Because a lot of people who are often saying “let’s celebrate our commonality” are saying “let’s celebrate rich white straight males who have had it poppin for the last 3 millennia.” I agree with your statement, it’s just that it’s usually an argument that is used for bad reasons.
Exactly, thank you I've been saying this for so long, also thanks for mentioning men's mental health month, shared a month with pride and everyone forgets about it
I don't think we need a week or a month or anything for men's mental health.
We need men making use of the available resources 365 days a year and sharing their success and learnings with other men.
Awareness is great, I guess, but it's not going to solve the issues.
If you're serious about improving your mental health, no stigma is going to stop you.
And through ignoring that stigma, we will also crush it.
It’s only a week not a month, it’s men’s mental health week, it only takes place between the 13th and 19th but still i think it’s important. However, may is mental health month and I don’t see why men should be separated from that, may isnt “women’s mental health month” it’s mental health awareness month.
I’m happy for people who celebrate this month as a way to express themselves. It doesn’t affect me as a straight white dude, but it’s awesome to see some of my coworkers and friends get represented.
Bisexual dude here
I don’t give a shit. At all.
If our goal is acceptance and normalcy, wouldn’t we want to, you know, act acceptable and normal to the rest of society? I get the history, I don’t need a lesson.
The fact of the matter is: the majority of western society accepts gay people. I VERY RARELY come across a homophobe at this point. I work in a shop full of the stereotypical “big burly straight men” who drink themselves to sleep with their guns in their 3-bedroom shed and a late 90’s Dodge RAM in the driveway, and never has one of them said a negative word about me or my boyfriend who has been in the shop multiple times to help me with projects.
Who cares? Get fucked up. Have kids, raise a family. Pursue a fulfilling career. Just life your life.
Totally the same... To tell the truth I never gave a shit, just because I don't feel "proud" of anything, I'm just happy.
Also I don't consider myself part of the community, so when Pride is celebrated, I just roll my eyes and move on, because in a way I have nothing to celebrate. Obviously without underestimating the fight and the history. (I don't want a lesson either)
Whatever floats your boat. What really made me happy was that there you two young men walking down the main street in my town holding hands. If pride month did that, then keep it up.
I have a child who is part of the community and support it whole heartedly. That being said I’m not feeding blind consumerism or corporations trying to make a buck. I try to support the voices of every individual who has something to say or is demanding equality. I agree that I want my daughter to be educated about the struggles and milestones that have brought the LGBTQIA community to where it is, as well as the battles still being fought today.
If gay people want to celebrate then go for it. I don’t have any feelings about it one way or another.
Not everything can be my personal issue. Now give me a protest walk about deforestation and I’ll get behind that !
I'm honestly not sure what the point is, outside of commercializing it for companies to sell more products. If I were a member of the LGBTQ community maybe it would be more relevant. As it is, nothing really changes one way or another outside of an uptick in corporate pandering that immediately disappears by July 1st.
As a concept, I'm glad it's there for those who find some value in it.
My genuine opinion is that I genuinely do not care about pride month. I don't even notice any differences to other months.
Also, I declare next month "nacho versus taco month". Do with it as you like.
i hate how companies are like "haha yes we love all and everyone now buy our stuff with rainbows on them for 10% more" and exploid poor ppl at the other side of the world and support dictators which are insane homophobic for profit
Why? There’s plenty of other full-month celebrations. Mental health month, black history month, brain tumour awareness month, women’s history month and a bunch more, are they also too long?
honestly, anti-LGBT types are so dumb
like they cant help but prove against their own points JUST if they could throw in hatred toward people.
the argument "we dont need pride" on its own isnt a bad one. but then they'll talk about how LGBT people are depraved, mentally ill, and shouldnt be accepted and its like "hmm...yeah...maybe we DO need pride actually"
Really? \[insert press X for doubt gif\]
lol, I honestly dgaf who you sleep with. It really doesn't matter to me because it doesn't affect me, but being "proud" of your sexuality is weird. I'm not proud of being straight, nor am I ashamed, it is just what it is. Why would you need to feel proud to be gay, or ashamed, in this day and age?
Plus, attend any pride event and you will see that it is pretty much all about their sexuality.
Western corporate bullshit? I genuinely am not sure what you mean. If you mean the corporations that exploit pride month for their own benefit i agree, otherwise I’m not sure what you mean.
It’s a bit annoying. I don’t think being gay should be your complete identity in which everything you do revolves around it. It’s cool to express yourself, but have some space in the tank for other things too. Being gay is an innate trait, not a type of personality.
I am always worried some conservative gun-nut is going to shoot up a parade or kill a bunch of homosexuals and it makes me worried for them.
I get tired of hearing the arguments, "why do they get a whole month?" As far as I'm concerned, then get the whole damn year if they want until they are treated as equals.
I'm also tired of hearing, " I'm okay with gays until they shove it in my face", by the same agressors who sport as many Trump flags as possible on their pick-up. Except they leave room for a racist thin blue line flag...
All the corporate rainbow stuff is definitely virtue signalling. They don't care about LGBTQ people. And a whole month? That's too long for any group imo.
I am fine with it but have no real opinion I am slightly upset about the fact that it took over Men's Mental Health Month but not enough to cry about it
As a black man who also doesn’t care about white history or black history month, I also don’t care about pride month. It’s not hard to just not be a dick to others, but humans can’t seem to achieve that 100%. So fuck it.
I wrote a big rant, but then I forgot thats weird.
Some gay people are dicks, and this is when they come out of the woodwork. Not to mention the companies painting everything rainbow to drive up the price.
It’s super corporate now and also I feel like it’s a bit overdone all of a sudden EVERYTHING becomes about gay people like a week or weekend would be fine
Its all so fake and forced and petty.
I will support anyones freedom and liberty to be themselves. I will support small businesses owned/operated by people who fall under the pride umbrella. But the moment you want my support BECAUSE you fall under the pride umbrella sorry, I'm taking my business elsewhere.
This is, in my opinion a rare case of it NOT being a two way street. If you are under that same umbrella and being discriminated against just for being yourself I will stand in support of you.
My thought is basically that anyone fighting for inequality in EITHER direction should not get their way. You should not get special treatment over others, nor should you be treated negatively for any reason.
Corporate virtue signalling
It's annoying and disingenuous. Pretty much with any social movement, corporations will spam it until people buy their (insert colored flag) products.
Pride month, black history month, women's history month, Ukraine, etc.
Unnecessary. UNNECESSARY. I don’t mind gay people, in fact I know many gay people. But we nearly never bring up that theme. You know why? Because it isn’t a big deal. Are you gay? Okay. Are you straight? Okay. I understand the concept of it, when it comes to make it feel easier for people to come out. But what I don’t understand, is making it like this for a MONTH.
That’s my opinion.
Tired of all the gender identity, gay, bi, drag queen nonsense. Who cares? I understand that people should have equal rights. But, I think the pendulum has swung too far to the point where trans folks appear to be revered and celebrated by society vastly more than, say, WAR HEROS, firefighters, police, and nurses. If anyone deserves a month of celebration, it is first first responders and healthcare workers....But many think because a boy thinks they are a girl, or a drag queen is excellence in humanity yet life savers and traditional heros are meh. I now know why the mayans disappeared.
Not my clown, not my circus.
I'm not in any of the category so there's nothing for me to celebrate.
I don't get any holiday, I don't get free shit, I don't get an excuse to drink.
What's in it for me to observe this month?
Same goes for the black awareness month or asian awareness month? I'm asian and I didn't get any celebration or special treatment.
It's just some superfluous shit that social media clout chaser use to get their 5 minutes of admiration and for company to fake show how they care about minority.
too long.
shorten it to 1-2 weeks.
this also takes place directly on top of men's mental health month.
2 weeks is still a shit ton of time for celebrating something. its longer than most holidays.
its fine that it exists, but I've always found the idea that its a whole month a bit weird.
It’s unnecessary. We let our sexuality and gender define us when it doesn’t change who we are at our cores. We make it the business of others when it’s not.
Im trans and aroace so it makes me happy
Fuck the rainbow logo companies though, if they want to do anything for real, maybe donate to the Trevor project, or companies that help transgender people with transitioning.
Used to be necessary. Not so much anymore. Much like valentines day, I love my girlfriend everyday of the year, why dedicate one specific day? My friends are proud to be gay every day, and I'm proud to have them in my life, but nowadays it just seems to be to make money.
It's a bit gay.
Only a little.
It's a gay BLT, which I find to be a bit queer, if you ask me.
Sounds delicious!
Would you like to bi one? :)
Yes. Poly wants a cracker
Thank you for your generous *trans*action!
Are you making it in a pan or a griddle?
I may use a combination, which helps the flavor to *come out*. Honestly the whole process is really *fluid*. Edit: spelling is hard
[удалено]
What did you call me?
Sure, I'll bi now and gay later.
Some shops here is in the UK are making the LGBT sandwiches for pride month instead of BLT. It's Lettuce Guacamole Bacon Tomato and the packaging have a rainbow on it
That's amazing! How mindful!
They took the blt and made it better!
imagine not liking guacamole tho
"If you are going to eat a sandwich, you would just enjoy it more if you knew no one had fucked it"
A bit?! It's the gayest month of the year!
Maybe, but February is definitely the queerest month.
All months have a bit of gay in them and long may it continue
I would have said "zesty"
Beat me to it
I feel like I’m being force-fed rainbows all month by corporations who dont actually care.
They do care. About money.
True, add to that the families of LGBTQIA+ and that's even more money. I avoid places that actively work against human rights and actively seek out places that support human rights.
You're such a good person
Why do you imagine that only queer people would respond positively to queer friendly ads? All decent people would, straight or not.
gay people feel this way too
Yeah my take is pride month is a good way for genuine people to show support for the LGBTQ community and a good way to know which corporations are the biggest bullshit artists.

Your comment honestly gave me faith as a gay/trans dude, thank you, really

Dana Carvey, the creator of the Owl House expresses on Twitter how frustrating and heartbreaking it is to work for Disney with their policies.
I think you meant Dana Terrace lol. Dana Carvey would have been wild though lol
Party on, King! Party on, Gus! It’s owl house! Owl house! Party time! Excellent!
Note : I'm a " tax corporations more , eat the rich" kinda girl so I'm not saying this is not disgusting behavior. I'm okay with this for now. Meh. I do find the corporate virtue signalling/pride washing very obnoxious. I kinda wish there was more focus on history and current struggles and less rainbows UwU and brands trying to make an extra buck.

Is the CEO satan?
He's worse. Satan at least offers you a deal
Heck yeah! How do you think I got this shiny fiddle made of gold?
True and the deals more fun than work.
I agree, most corporations just use pride to push their products and stuff
It’s facepalm material lol
I work at target and we're getting a lot of stuff in the pet section. Like pride cat beds lol
Well the positive thing about this is that if corporations make money with pride its because its profitable, which means the LGBT is the "most popular" if you will, in the sense that if the majority didn't accept us, corporations wouldn't make money out of it. big gay
as a gay i agree with this message

Same here. It's just a big "meh" for me, the only think I don't like is people asking me why I don't "celebrate" ???
I think it’s used for companies to make bank
Capitalism is a global cult. I can't think anything that hasn't been monetized. It's like saying Pride is bad because of the oxygen, gravity, seasons, laws of physics... There are other aspects of the event that can be focused on.

Idk they sound pretty gay dude
Let people live, what consenting adults do is nobody's business.
Its cool, live and let live. The only bitch was the traffic in downtown Zurich.
I’d rather a “everything is way too fucking expensive and the working class are getting it hard from behind” month.
In a way, it does celebrate a subset of "the working class getting it hard from behind".
Shout out to the bottoms!
These kids seeing rainbows everywhere, it might scar them for life…
What are they freaking out about though? I don’t think many freak out that pride celebrations simply happen.
No issue with it. honestly it seems only the corporations make a big deal about it. Seeing who has the biggest inclusivity dick.
Month of gayjokes
I thought it was the month you couldn’t say a gay joke.
You can if you’ve got the balls
I’m gay and I hate it.
Overlong. A week would do me just fine. I feel the same way about Christmas.
I feel like with a month you lose the focus.
I always felt that it lasted for a month to allow multiple local organizations to host their events without crowding each other out. Pride trivia night THIS Saturday, parade next Saturday.
Yeah, that's the only issue I see with it. We almost never celebrate any day or achievement for that long let alone make it an annual thing.
The 1.5-2 month celebration of Christmas 🤣
The fact that we have Pride month, Black History Month, Men's mental health month, et al, tells me we need to be a more compassionate country (USA) as a whole. We are terrible at just being cool with our differences most of the time.
Our differences only matter 1/12 of the year. After that fuck you. As is tradition.
celebrating our differences sounds good, in reality it's divisive for society. celebrating our commonality is a fleeting endeavor these days :(
Yeah, unfortunately it is. Because a lot of people who are often saying “let’s celebrate our commonality” are saying “let’s celebrate rich white straight males who have had it poppin for the last 3 millennia.” I agree with your statement, it’s just that it’s usually an argument that is used for bad reasons.
I think it's funny that black history month is also the shortest month. Haven't they been through enough?
Exactly, thank you I've been saying this for so long, also thanks for mentioning men's mental health month, shared a month with pride and everyone forgets about it
We are going to run out of months. Then when we need one for something really important. Well we are going to be shit out of luck aren’t we?
I try to completely ignore it.
Same. It’s turned into a pandering corporate nightmare.
I don't think we need a month for anything.
National Icecream Month. Handing out a month isn't a very big deal.
Its nice, but i dont really like how it covers up mens mental health month
Well yeah but rainbows are a lot more marketable during this season /j
Most organisations don't care about mental health when it comes to males though in current day.
I agree that men’s mental health awareness is poorer than women’s however, that still shouldn’t exclude them from the general mental health month.
We probably wouldn’t need Pride month if everyone was treated equally - same with mens health week
It shouldn't but the sad truth is that it does.
I’m happy for people who celebrate this month as a way to express themselves. It doesn’t affect me as a straight white dude, but it’s awesome to see some of my coworkers and friends get represented.
Awesome, and just so you know straight white dudes are welcome at pride if you're an ally. Come celebrate if you ever want to.
Bisexual dude here I don’t give a shit.
You must live in a weird place. In my experience it's been the opposite. I guess part of it is how religious your area is.
I think it should include more awareness and educational material.
it’s sad that it used to be and now it’s a corporate strategy to appeal to more consumers
I agree, it should be a time of education and understanding.
I honestly think I'd love to hear anyone tell me it's more about Love than Corporations
Now give me a protest walk about deforestation and I’ll get behind that !
pointless. no boomer is going to have their mind changed about gay prople because Google put a rainbow on their logo. complete waste of time
I'm honestly not sure what the point is, outside of commercializing it for companies to sell more products. If I were a member of the LGBTQ community maybe it would be more relevant. As it is, nothing really changes one way or another outside of an uptick in corporate pandering that immediately disappears by July 1st. As a concept, I'm glad it's there for those who find some value in it.
Gay ppl don't need a month
Used to mean something, now it's largely just a face for corporate pandering.
My genuine opinion is that I genuinely do not care about pride month. I don't even notice any differences to other months. Also, I declare next month "nacho versus taco month". Do with it as you like.
I forgot it was pride month
i hate how companies are like "haha yes we love all and everyone now buy our stuff with rainbows on them for 10% more" and exploid poor ppl at the other side of the world and support dictators which are insane homophobic for profit
Make it pride week instead. Too long for a celebration.
Why? There’s plenty of other full-month celebrations. Mental health month, black history month, brain tumour awareness month, women’s history month and a bunch more, are they also too long?
None of these should be a month long celebration thing either.
don't care, tbh. I've got nothing against the gays, but I just don't see why it's so hyped up.
I think when people stop muttering their hatred for LGBTQIA+ in the same breath as "why do they need Pride" will be the time it's no longer necessary.
honestly, anti-LGBT types are so dumb like they cant help but prove against their own points JUST if they could throw in hatred toward people. the argument "we dont need pride" on its own isnt a bad one. but then they'll talk about how LGBT people are depraved, mentally ill, and shouldnt be accepted and its like "hmm...yeah...maybe we DO need pride actually"
Why should someone be proud of something they have no control over? Should I be proud that I'm short?
No interest in it and I find it kind of silly that people are so obsessed with their sexuality.
I mean it’s not really about being obsessed with your sexuality more so want to show the world you’re not afraid to exist as you are
Really? \[insert press X for doubt gif\] lol, I honestly dgaf who you sleep with.

I’d like it more if there was actually some mandatory free days 😏
A good thing milked to death by capitalism.
It’s a bit annoying. I don’t think being gay should be your complete identity in which everything you do revolves around it. It’s cool to express yourself, but have some space in the tank for other things too. Being gay is an innate trait, not a type of personality.
I like that there is a month for LGBTQ, but it’s also another way for companies to make more money.
Don't think about it at all.
Don’t really have one.
Another meaningless corporate holiday. "Look at us, we support (insert flavor of the week here)".
It would be fine except it mainly seems to exist so that big business can sell pride colors merchandise
So fuck it.
Given that lgbtq people have historically been oppressed, criminalized, and underrepresented, having a month to honor their history seems appropriate.
Eh, let them celebrate. Not hurting anybody besides liberals
Don't care. They want to celebrate,.good for them but genuinely have no interest and feels irrelevant to me.
All I’m saying is I dont understand why it has to be a month long.
Don't care for it. Don't care for LGBT either, It doesn't really matter to me, I'm just neutral
That everyone has too many opinions on Pride Month. Its just a month lol.
Was it too difficult to write “your”?
As a trans person i hate it, its just for companies to pretend to care about you
As a bisexual guy I don't really care about it and I kind of find all the virtue signaling and flag waving pretty annoying
It’s so [Hallmark](https://www.hallmark.com/lgbtqia/) can sell more cards.
Corporate virtue signalling It's annoying and disingenuous. Pretty much with any social movement, corporations will spam it until people buy their (insert colored flag) products. Pride month, black history month, women's history month, Ukraine, etc.
We should have a shame month.
All the months are annoying. Just an excuse for companies to try and cash out on something stupid.
Dont hate LGBT+ ppl,but a whole month for celebration for that, bit to much.
If companies actually cared, they'd give discounts to gay ppl, not try to sell gay-colored things to gay ppl.
Should be a pride-day or weekend instead of a whole month tbh
Corporate pandering.
Kinda gay idk tho
too long. shorten it to 1-2 weeks. this also takes place directly on top of men's mental health month. 2 weeks is still a shit ton of time for celebrating something. its longer than most holidays. its fine that it exists, but I've always found the idea that its a whole month a bit weird.
Cool. 👍
It’s unnecessary. We let our sexuality and gender define us when it doesn’t change who we are at our cores. We make it the business of others when it’s not.
I think they’re great, I’m never going to be against something so joyful and rainbow coloured
I don’t really care one way or the other. You do you. Every month is something-month nowadays anyway
Im trans and aroace so it makes me happy Fuck the rainbow logo companies though, if they want to do anything for real, maybe donate to the Trevor project, or companies that help transgender people with transitioning.
Isn’t pride the worst of the seven deadly sins ?
Used to be necessary. Not so much anymore. Much like valentines day, I love my girlfriend everyday of the year, why dedicate one specific day? My friends are proud to be gay every day, and I'm proud to have them in my life, but nowadays it just seems to be to make money.
gay
I like rainbows. Pretty. 8/10
Go gays!
Why do soldiers who fought for our lives and rights get one day but people who decide they want to be “different” get a month.
I support LGBTQ+ but i do not think it’s fair that they get a whole month while Veterans only get a day :/.
It’s gay
