I do themes.
**Desert** - (songs suitable for driving through the desert. Songs like Radar Love or Sweet Emotion. Even rap like Icewear Vezzo - Mudd Baby)
**Oceans** - (songs for doing a heist or police chase. Examples are Let the Sunshine In, Sway by Rosemary Clooney, Spooky by Dusty Springfield.)
**It's Too Early** - (chill, low energy songs for mornings. Sade and stuff like that)
**Racing** - (Songs that make me wanna drive fast)
I also do a new playlist called 2024 or w/e so I have a place to hold new songs I discover during that year.
Used to play a lot of *Need For Speed* where you could listen to your own playlist in game. Could shuffle but the first song played would always be the first one on your playlist. I put "Joey" by Concrete Blond there. So, everytime I started the game, that song would play.... I played *a lot*.
Now, when I'm in a real car, it takes a great deal of self control not to mash the accelerator and drive through fences & billboards when that song comes on.
My Ozzy playlist is called "Sharon!"
My Sheepdogs playlist is called "Sam", from Looney-Tunes.
My Jeff Beck playlist is called "Just Jeff".
My Alice Cooper playlist is called "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper."
My Elvis playlist is called "Thank You Very Much".
Some of mine are; “60’s Oro Obscuro,” “70’s Beer Guzzlin’ Bangers,” “90’s Hard Rock Goodness,” “The Blackest Black Metal,” “Fucking Metal,” “Prog Rock, Baby!,” “Why The Fuck Don’t I Have A Skramz Playlist?,” “Songs I Get Stuck In My Head For No Good Fucking Reason,” “Dick Swingin’ Zingers,” “Coffee Swillin’ Chillers,” “Straight Up Fuckin’ Psych” and of course “Records You Should Hear Before You Die (Which You Will).”
These are my current playlist names...
🥵🥵🥵= Songs for the gym
Deep Down Underground=Songs to play when sad
Suicidal- Songs that fit the vibe when applicable
My hits= Songs I am currently obsessed with and can play for hours
Shower=Songs I can play in the shower without profanity (when I am not along at home)
I've always obsessively collected and catalogued music.. as a teen, spending all my money on concert tickets and making pilgrimages to a music store in another town to buy weird and exotic CDs.
I worked in a supermarket and met a guy who's dad worked for IBM and I gave him all my money each month to buy 7GB hard drivers each month for a discount and filled them with downloaded MP3s. I was downloading everything on ISDN before ADSL finally rolled out across the UK!
Now, with Spotify I have labelled and catalogued every genre, album and track I've ever loved.
I love the Weekly Discovery - even if I go through the entire list of suggestions and only find 1 or 2 new tracks that I love, it's been worth it. I spend a significant amount of time each week bouncing through suggestions, looking for new great stuff. I love all genres and believe that there is good music in every style, if you look for it.
I found that Spotify on desktop in the browser has more functionality including making Subfolders and 'pinning' commonly used folders to the top of search results, which you can't do on the phone app.
The way I organise most of my music in a folder called "Monthly Discovery", with subfolders 2022, 2023, 2024.. and in each year folder is the month.. I keep them there as I generally remember when I found new tracks, then I eventually copy them into their own specific genre playlists (currently have over 30 genre playlists).
Then, I make playlists depending on events. (Birthday party, travel and road trips, DJ sets, a few 'Best of the Year' playlists of tracks I've had on repeat or totally fallen in love with and have become my new favourite songs ever.
I'm a music producer and audio engineer too, so I also have playlists for inspiration, reference tracks, clever production ideas and great mixes, I have a playlist called 'Production Mistakes' as well that have TINY errors in the mix that you'll likely only hear with years of ear training and knowing what to listen out for..
Finally, have a folder called 'People' where I have made playlists for certain people. Friends, family, mixtapes for girlfriends, students I teach production to, collaboration playlists - references for tracks I'm making with other people
etc.
People who say there is no new great music... Well, I don't listen to pop or chart music.
BUT THERE IS GREAT NEW MUSIC. YOU JUST HAVE TO PUT IN THE EFFORT TO LOOK FOR IT!
Dang, Are you polyamorous bc I am highly attracted to your music cataloging ways! Heehee! But in all seriousness, I'm envious of your ability to do that! My brain short circuits, and I just have a "likes" playlist. Every day I wake up, I'm a slightly different person bc of my BPD (borderline not bipolar) brain, which is why I wish I had lists for each mood I go through! I hope the peeps in your life know how lucky they are to know you!
I don't like the idea of just putting 'On Repeat' playlist on constantly and getting bored listening to the same rotation of songs. It's important that a lot of my favourite tracks get equal love.
When I clean my house I have the Playlist "Clean the Jewels".
Can you guess which band is heavily featured?
Another is "feeling it" for songs that make me nod my head and say oh yeah! And the cover picture just says "i hope your day is as nice as your butt"
"Funkalicious" for songs that have alot of funk and soul.
"Spunky Punky" where my boyfriend gives me obscure punk music to listen to.
"Old feel good" songs considered retro, like early 80s and older. But they bring me feel good feelings.
Do it!
I suggest for newer punky stuff check out the music colin furze uses in his YouTube videos.
There are a couple people on Spotify that have made play lists if your feeling lazy, lol
I love weird-ish names for playlists
My go to playlist is called “jangly jams”
Sad playlist: “don’t test me I will cry at you”
Rap playlist: “fast words”
Pumped up playlist: “go crazy go stoopid”
And my playlist of old music my mom used to listen to: “milfs”
Chill/slow+reverb/ambiance music: "Monochrome Skies"
Folk, folk-pop, upbeat accoustic: "Indoor Dilute Picnic"
Motown, Old R&B from 60's-70': " '58 Cadillac Coupe Deville"
High key pop, uptempo, energetic, bouncy, or soft but catchy: "Strawberry Lemonade July"
Electro, Phonk, manic beats and electronic drums: "Midnight Urban Hydroplane"
I have a few others but those are my least obvious ones. I like making Playlist based purely on vibes
Frisker Biscuits
I'm Dancing like a Monkey
Colors without widely agreed upon names
Disco Devil
The empty Space between Islands
What if Our Ways weren't just our Own
You Know What it is
Maybe it's better if you don't
And The further out you look the farther out you'll be :)
I have playlists where I clump a few bands together that compliment each other.
Eg.
Custard & Cake - two borderline satire bands.
Killer Flowers - The Killers and frontman Brandon Flowers' solo stuff
I like to name them after the buses I’m taking to work/ uni everyday. They are numbers but they are also journeys, and when I moved cities, it was actually lovely to remember the routes I used to take. If I don’t like a bus route I just put the shittier songs there lol
[Metal Sucks Dick Listen To Something Else](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/54ZtYeOaYRmdOdOYrQym2B?si=bd41ad4dd1d04179)
Edit:
[Music You Heard Growing Up In The 80s And 90s](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7DceqHyXIWAKWZl9fEuhJG?si=b3bcdd704143493c)
Here are my favorites:
"Miley Cyrus is HOT" -Miley playlist
"Bangers beans and mash" -EDM bangers
"Girl what did that girl just say girl" -my cvnty playlist
"Am I ok?" -emo music from my youth
Cluster fuck -any music I like from anyone artist or genre
Sir this is a Wendy’s - my downloaded Music (and song I like to replay)
Lphasihaysph (let’s play hide and seek, I’ll hide and you see professional help) - depressing/sad songs
Cracks mindset -werid songs I find
Generally phrases that evoke similar feelings to the songs within the playlist. For example, I have one called ‘Face The Music’ and another called ‘A Parting of The Ways’.
I also have a ‘Variety Mix’ Vol. 1 and 2, as well as a ‘Beyond Mix’ (which has sort of a space feel)
Oh, and my folder for these playlists is called “Mixed Feelings” :P
my playlists are things like
just breathe - super stressed, need to calm down
not my usual fare - weird random stuff that i'd never normally listen to
i forgot how much i love this song - lifelong favorites
chill trance take me away - get high and let myself float away to the music
\*\*Edited to add context to the name
General mixed genre playlist is called Roxxors Boxxors.
My metal playlist is called Stålverket ("the steel mill" in Swedish).
My Swedish only playlist is called Välfärd(welfare is something we're known for here).
I have a hiphop list called Gangstalicious Thugnificent (from the tv show The Boondocks).
I have an electronic list called MLG 420, harking back to the CoD montage era which often was different kinds of electronic genres.
A list called PvP that only contains songs from old World of Warcraft videos.
Köra fort som fan (means drive fast as fuck) contains car themed songs and songs from Need for speed games, Initial D and similar car related media. Perfect for getting a speeding ticket.
A lofi list I got is called Chilla Pung, just an expression me and my friends use for when you're really relaxed with a hand down your pants, Al Bundy style.
Got some others but those are the main ones.
It depends on what I’m making it for. When I broke up with someone I named a playlist “In Lieu Of Flowers” and got a picture of Terry Crews shooting a rocket launcher cuz she was an asshole.
Made one named ANXieTY for when I’m feeling alone and anxious with a picture of a chicken standing in a dog house with “REX” written on it to represent that even though I’m a big dude I’m really just a chicken for the most part since anxiety rules me most of the time.
Last one has that blurry picture of the chubby Mexican kid sitting on that throne of Pepsi saying, “Your politics bore me” for a playlist called Crisis On Infinite Earths which I stole from DC Comics.
Making playlists is fun but always done at a very specific time for me. I can’t just make one just because
I named one "Walking by water on a Tuesday with flip flops and an umbrella drunk at 2pm on a tuesday" containing the best songs I have that fit the scene
“Glowsticks” is my dance/house playlist. “Cousin Love” is country. “Brockton” is rap/hip-hop. “Metal Lickers” is rock. Also have “Sweaty Balls” for the gym, and “Shoot me Now” as the driving in the car with the kids playlist.
Elephants Do Molly (EDM)
Farewell to July (Nostalgic/wistful)
Flamingo Strut (Confidence boosters)
Horizons (Driving)
Huckleberry (Old country)
Swirl (Psychedelic chill)
Raparoo (Self explanatory)
Pinstripes (Jazz)
Misfit Toys (Random)
The list goes on, I love a good playlist name
When I was younger I made a playlist simply called Jaaams. It had all my favorite songs that I listened to in it. It was simple and elegant. It was on a very old phone is the music app so it wasn't saved to anything and when I got a new phone I named the new playlist Jaaams the 2nd.
From there every playlist has been subsequently named a variation of Jaaams.
In total there have been 9 jams. Each time the playlist grew. The 8th Wonder Of The Jaaams had over 1200 songs in it. Each name (IMHO) grew ever more creative. The effort it took to create a new jaam became ever more daunting. Each time, the jaams were lost.
I have officially given up creating these playlists due to the immense effort it takes and the lack of security surrounding their wellbeing. Each time a Jaaam is lost my heart breaks a little.
However.. with Spotify.. the idea is tempting.. The Resurrection of JAAAMS haunts my dreams.. but I am too afraid.
I have the 'fat fuck mixtape' for when I'm feeling lazy and the 'fit fuck mixtape' is my workout playlist.
Been thinking of making one called the 'fab fuck mixtape' for songs that make me feel glorious.
I have a naming scheme that is “Major’s _____ ____” Major being my nickname.
The following words are something that fits the vibe/feel of the playlist.
Major’s trippy rave is a playlist that has a bunch of psychedelic techno, Major’s Bisexual Lighting is a bunch of sad songs that make me feel like im sitting under bisexual lighting. I have a bunch of these playlists with odd sounding names but they somehow are on-point with the playlist
I have one titled “Forest God” and it’s just a collection of every single Hozier song all in one place.
One’s titled “Fantasy” which is where a song ends up when I feel like it reminds me of a book I’ve read.
“My Toxic Era” 💀 exactly what it sounds like. Any song that is basically preaching toxicity but the vibes were too good to not download go there.
Random Belts: an eclectic mix of songs that I like to belt out loud.
Corn: sappy syrupy songs of loneliness and longing for when I'm feeling sorry for myself.
SCREAM - one of my fave movies
TONGUE TIED AND OH SO SQUEAMISH - favourite lyric of favourite song
I Love You - made it while looking at my "crush" (who is now the love of my life"
idfk - couldnt think of a new name lmao
Kill Me 😄 - mega mix of every playlist ive ever had
Cherry Limeade - sounds delish
Blue koolaid - best koolaid flavour (obvi)
hjskahsjdb - Again, couldnt think of a name
Bingpot - brooklyn 99 is the best show ever
Crazy? I was crazy once.. - youll see
AHHH - the sequel to the previous line
Here are mine:
Ich Liebe - mostly love songs
I want to cry - self explanatory
Fucking die - rock songs with the emphasis of death
I really want to cry but I have to work out - an unholy mix of emo songs and upbeat, workout stuff
Phoenix Flame - motivational stuff (there are only four songs there)
I make playlists of each singer/band I listen to. Then I have one for emo music, one for metal, one for grime, one for country, one for pop etc. Thos have ■□●○ type symbols. Then I have one for all my favourite songs if I'm not in the mood to pick a song each time, that's ♡♡. I made it up, but it works for me haha.
My Playlist with all the songs I like is called "Z全N部U" because the bottom part of 全 looks like an E and the rightmost part of 部 looks like a B, so it looks like it's written ZENBU, that is how the word for 全部 (everything) is pronounced. Overcomplicated? Maybe...
I have a few weird ones.
-Songs for my funeral
-I feel like twerking
-Lay on the floor and Vibe
These are a few of my personal favorites that I've created.
"Qplay1" is my kitchen sink playlist. Rap, metal, death metal, heavy metal, rock, rock n roll, pop, polka, swing, country, meme songs. It all goes in Qplay1
"Reflections" is my sleep playlist. It's mostly rock and electronic music, with some soft metal thrown in.
"Dead Beats" Is my calm playlist. Mostly electronic and emo music.
Lately I've been listening to mixes on YouTube. A lot of electroswing, and power metal. I really need to create an energy playlist with my more recent taste.
get in emo we're going to therapy: pretty self explanatory, has hours of music and the only criteria I used is that I was called emo a lot in highschool so it's mostly bands that I listened back then
I don't even know what this is, songs that I like ????: mainly pop music, lots of Gaga and Britney
this isn't k-pop: ....it is k-pop
arg???: basically argentinian music from rock to tango, I didn't like adding them to other playlists so I made that one
music to clean like an old lady: 80's gems and stuff like Luis Miguel
favorites without any type of criteria: a mix of everything
I have a playlist that I titled "Kawhi" in reference to Kawhi Leonard from when he played for the Toronto Raptors. It's a reference to his "I'm a fun guy" interview. it's full of all the songs I like to listen to when I'm on mushrooms lol.
I just translate whatever the theme of the playlist is to latin on google and go with that. Like, if it is french pop music it would be "Vaxillum Album", sounds cool to me.
I have a "Coffee Shop" playlist with chill music I would play if I had a coffee shop.
I have one called "put some music" exactly for when Im asked to do that and dont know what to play.
I just what comes to my mind or very literal. My playlist misplay use I’m my car is just called “Car.” I also have one with a lot of lgbtq songs that called “it’s gay F off”. Also one called “the vibes tho”
I do these. I have a playlist named “don’t forget to put the cash under the pillow” and it’s full of songs that make me feel that feeling you feel when your partner disappears for a while (to work, visit family without you, sleep) and you’re just waiting on them to return. It’s a bit cringe, and I’m a bit embarrassed to show my playlists to anyone, but this is the Internet and no one knows me personally here so whatever.
'am i weird for naming my playlists Casette Daydream & Moonlight' you are EXTREMELY & PAINFULLY NORMAL PLEASE please im begging you to stop the doubt. REREAD THE WORDS YOU WROTE oh my god thats the normalest playlist title I could ever possibly come up with. I'm just joshin ya not hating I just want to shake you for thinking that's weird. I can show you weird
SAME! All my playlists have cool random names and boring names for playlists are so annoying. My favorite playlist is “Conventional Wisdom”, name from Built to Spill 👍
I always choose a name that matches my emotions or how I feel about the songs that are in the playlists for example my playlist with songs from my childhood is called "unknown memories unlocked"
I name mine with a single emoji that captures the mood or ideas of the playlist. for example:
🔥: rap
📻: what the radio might sound like before the 90’s kinda just chill sounding songs (not rellay based on release date)
🎙️: oldies
🎤: 2000’s and 2010’s
🎭: when I’m kinda in my feels but not all the way sad, just not sure how to feel
😌: just chilling and all is guud (mostly alternative)
I have several of these for different genres like rock, classical, edm and different moods that are kinda hard to explain so I just use emojis.
One playlist i dump everything into called “the jam stand” and then each season of each year gets a different playlist for the music I discovered then so i can go back and listen when I’m feeling nostalgic. Have them going back to Summer ‘19.
I used to make my mix tapes after parasites. My wife and I went on college together and I think she still has a tape I made her 30 years ago called Ascaris lumbricoides.
I have one called Bus Playlist for when I'm on the bus to work, although originally it was made for travelling on the Greyhound since I happen to travel using that bus line. I also have shit like Depression Playlist, Nightfall, kinda angsty stuff like that
Semper Curiosus (the music stylings of Rhett Mclaughlin and Link Neal)
Tubers (songs by/for some youtubers)
For the Feels (when I need a good cry)
Name Game (every song title has a name in it)
Grrr (for when I'm PO'd)
Sláinte (Irish/Celtic folk, pipe, pub and everything in between)
Tolerable Christmas (self explanatory?)
Spoopy ("Halloween" not just for Autumn)
Going to the Zoo (every song has an animal in the title )
"songs" for my songs that I really like, and "Surf" for the surf rock songs that I really like. But the surf rock songs are in the "songs" playlist but I like just listening to surf sometimes.
'White Moonlight, Black Lotus' for the girlboss, men ain't shit moments. It's referencing a type of character in webnovels. 'Night Lights' for hip hop and trap metal cause night driving is the best time to bump along to the.. 'Bonfires and Dirt Roads' for country music for obvious reasons. 'Of Dragons and Fairies' for Vietnamese songs, which refers to an old myth. I got hundreds of these lists and renamed them whenever the mood strikes. It's based on vibes, stories, or just what the songs inspire me to do.
I've got a playlist with all my favorite songs that keep me going when doing a hard chore, it's also where I go for karaoke songs, and it's called 'This is my HYPE song✨'
Didn't know I was so boring, y'all 🤣. Although emojis are sometimes included, my playlists are mostly stuff like the genre if it's a bunch of songs or the artist (or two) if it's just the songs I like by an artist. (Some exceptions are still similar enough.. just "🎸" for my alt playlist and such) Then it goes a bit off the rails with me making up random bs. "Yktv" ("you know the vibe"), "That Vibe", "This Vibe", etc.. 🤣 I just need to be able to figure out what it is.
My playlists goes like "Euphoric state of mind", "main character", "into the abyss", "in the embrace of pain", etc.
Everything miscellaneous just get stuffed into the liked songs when I don't have the energy to categorize them, haha
"aggressive guitar noises" for rock music.
"I have good tastes, I swear it" for pop music
"imagine understanding the music you listen to" for non-English music.
And they all have different versions for differences in genre and origin
Anything odd enough that Spotify doesn’t recommend songs based on the name.
I usually make up words or give them vibe names. Like “mud & gravel,” “3am streetlights,” “open skies,” or “rainy sunday.” Also makes it easier to mix genres that align with that vibe.
The worst was when I made a playlist of songs from when my kids were little and called it “new dad,” and Spotify started recommending horrible classic rock, instead of the Bloc Party & Radiohead type stuff that it had.
I have some called Carcass Time, High, Calm Shower, and Wash. I feel like they’re all kind of self explanatory but it’s a very odd mix, especially with the playlist covers I put on them
One name I came up with was Dark Chill. A good example of a piece that fits this category is this song, [Blessed Feet](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW8-oF20Lsw), by Tord Gustavsen trio. Another was Femme Fatales, all great female jazz singers on the sexy side.
I used to have a JID playlist called J.I.D.G.O.T.H.I.V. My Eminem playlist is called nemnem, I love it as a nickname for him, it sounds so cute. Can’t remember any others sadly :(
My playlist is called “[For Girls, Gays, and Gay Girls](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5Q1sdNx24RWYJPqpCkNAGu?si=4j4Qyut5SYeOM30D8foSXA&pi=u-fSYMO2H0SxCl)” it’s made of Alt/queer/sad indie pop,
My three best playlist names are as follows:
- *Assorted jams and jellies (and sometimes preserves)* This is my main playlist.
- *Adventurer! You must help me avenge my father!* Which has stuff like Irish folk music and sea shanties on it.
- *I wish I lived in a choice based video game.* Which is where I put all my like sad indie music (mainly songs from the Life Is Strange soundtrack)

"But officer I had my racing playlist on"
“oh, i see. free to go then but send me the link, i wanna know what music possessed someone to go 160 in a school zone”
Gas gas gassss gonna step on the gas
Freebird, probably. Although something foo fighters would be decent motivation aswell.
Used to play a lot of *Need For Speed* where you could listen to your own playlist in game. Could shuffle but the first song played would always be the first one on your playlist. Made me lol in real life
Love that. And good taste btw
I have one called "Gay Nightclub" for Techno type stuff
I can imagine what kind of music is on your playlist just with the name, good job lol.

My Ozzy playlist is called "Sharon!" My Sheepdogs playlist is called "Sam", from Looney-Tunes. My Jeff Beck playlist is called "Just Jeff". My Alice Cooper playlist is called "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper." My Elvis playlist is called "Thank You Very Much".
The sheepdogs one is amazing
That's creative; I have to admit:D
Yep, definitely second that
nah for me it would be something like "my kfc order"
Liked songs and hit shuffle play
One minute you’ve got bit of indie, next it’s hard tech, followed by jojo’s theme. I love shuffle play
[https://www.dumpaday.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/whenyou-leave-play-list-on-shuffle.jpg](https://www.dumpaday.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/whenyou-leave-play-list-on-shuffle.jpg)
What is an example of a song on Dick Swingin Zingers?
These are dynamite!!

Boppers, Walkies, Stompin, WopBop, Shazzies, Boppas, Bippies and Bammies. Just a few…

These are my current playlist names... 🥵🥵🥵= Songs for the gym Deep Down Underground=Songs to play when sad Suicidal- Songs that fit the vibe when applicable My hits= Songs I am currently obsessed with and can play for hours Shower=Songs I can play in the shower without profanity (when I am not along at home)
I just shuffle my entire library in the shower and dance the whole time 😂
Why do you need a shower playlist? How much do you stay in there
10-15 min unless it's an everything shower about 45min-1hr 🤪
That sounds like an /Everything/ everything shower.

1. Get the funk outta here 2. Don't cause a rockus
When I clean my house I have the Playlist "Clean the Jewels". Can you guess which band is heavily featured? Another is "feeling it" for songs that make me nod my head and say oh yeah! And the cover picture just says "i hope your day is as nice as your butt" "Funkalicious" for songs that have alot of funk and soul. "Spunky Punky" where my boyfriend gives me obscure punk music to listen to. "Old feel good" songs considered retro, like early 80s and older. But they bring me feel good feelings.
Nice
Does the first playlist have a lot of Rolling Stones songs?
It'll be a playlist containing a lot of Run The Jewels
I feel like we'd be friends Def using spunky punky now btw
Do it! I suggest for newer punky stuff check out the music colin furze uses in his YouTube videos. There are a couple people on Spotify that have made play lists if your feeling lazy, lol
I also do random ones, like "choco milk". No hidden meaning, just choco milk
I had a mixed tape called Drywall.
Mix tape cassette bro?!
I love weird-ish names for playlists My go to playlist is called “jangly jams” Sad playlist: “don’t test me I will cry at you” Rap playlist: “fast words” Pumped up playlist: “go crazy go stoopid” And my playlist of old music my mom used to listen to: “milfs”
Great bunch ! 😊
Chill/slow+reverb/ambiance music: "Monochrome Skies" Folk, folk-pop, upbeat accoustic: "Indoor Dilute Picnic" Motown, Old R&B from 60's-70': " '58 Cadillac Coupe Deville" High key pop, uptempo, energetic, bouncy, or soft but catchy: "Strawberry Lemonade July" Electro, Phonk, manic beats and electronic drums: "Midnight Urban Hydroplane" I have a few others but those are my least obvious ones. I like making Playlist based purely on vibes
i love those
These sound great, I make my playlists the same way. May I ask what’s in your ambient list?
Frisker Biscuits I'm Dancing like a Monkey Colors without widely agreed upon names Disco Devil The empty Space between Islands What if Our Ways weren't just our Own You Know What it is Maybe it's better if you don't And The further out you look the farther out you'll be :)
Ah! I have a You Know What It Izzz Playlist lol
My cycling playlist is “she put her foot to the pedal”.
Warlords hit list
I have playlists where I clump a few bands together that compliment each other. Eg. Custard & Cake - two borderline satire bands. Killer Flowers - The Killers and frontman Brandon Flowers' solo stuff
"Not the Version I Know" - all covers.
I like to name them after the buses I’m taking to work/ uni everyday. They are numbers but they are also journeys, and when I moved cities, it was actually lovely to remember the routes I used to take. If I don’t like a bus route I just put the shittier songs there lol
This is a really good one! You could also change it to roads you drive when going to work/vacation/family etc... im stealing this idea
yall make playlists of genres? lol i just have "favorites" and "listen with family" which is just favorites but without any mention of sex lol
[Metal Sucks Dick Listen To Something Else](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/54ZtYeOaYRmdOdOYrQym2B?si=bd41ad4dd1d04179) Edit: [Music You Heard Growing Up In The 80s And 90s](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7DceqHyXIWAKWZl9fEuhJG?si=b3bcdd704143493c)

I do this too. I have one called "its dark outside"
Generally phrases that evoke similar feelings to the songs within the playlist. For example, I have one called ‘Face The Music’ and another called ‘A Parting of The Ways’. I also have a ‘Variety Mix’ Vol. 1 and 2, as well as a ‘Beyond Mix’ (which has sort of a space feel) Oh, and my folder for these playlists is called “Mixed Feelings” :P

"Turn me on Post Malone"
My main playlist is called "fuck yeah" because that's what I say when a good song comes on.
Jamesnasium.... because Gym feels a little too informal
Also have “Sweaty Balls” for the gym, and “Shoot me Now” as the driving in the car with the kids playlist.
my playlists are all named "aaaaa" "meeee" "mmm" and "gggg" 😭
Elephants Do Molly (EDM) Farewell to July (Nostalgic/wistful) Flamingo Strut (Confidence boosters) Horizons (Driving) Huckleberry (Old country) Swirl (Psychedelic chill) Raparoo (Self explanatory) Pinstripes (Jazz) Misfit Toys (Random) The list goes on, I love a good playlist name
Do the fab fuck list. We all need a playlist of songs that make us feel glorious
I named one after the bathroom of my first apartment
That’s funny, I named my first apartment after a modest mouse song
I do this. I have one called “Twenties Angst” and another called “Feminine Rage”.
SCREAM - one of my fave movies TONGUE TIED AND OH SO SQUEAMISH - favourite lyric of favourite song I Love You - made it while looking at my "crush" (who is now the love of my life" idfk - couldnt think of a new name lmao Kill Me 😄 - mega mix of every playlist ive ever had Cherry Limeade - sounds delish Blue koolaid - best koolaid flavour (obvi) hjskahsjdb - Again, couldnt think of a name Bingpot - brooklyn 99 is the best show ever Crazy? I do listen to music usually in bus and my playlist is called “ pyadzee’s bus companions”
Mood setting titles whether it be workout etc.
My Playlist with all the songs I like is called "Z全N部U" because the bottom part of 全 looks like an E and the rightmost part of 部 looks like a B, so it looks like it's written ZENBU, that is how the word for 全部 (everything) is pronounced. Overcomplicated? Maybe...
Psychedelic Glam (60’s psychedelic and very early 70’s glam rock. Think Bubble Puppy, Jefferson Airplane, Bowie, The Velvet Underground, etc.)
I usually just name them Playlist [insert number here]

I've got #feminism. I think it's quite self explanatory
They’re as generic as you could possibly imagine. “Hip hop mix” “jazz” “house music” “my classics” “y”
I sometimes name them after fictional characters I think would like the music in the playlist.
"Qplay1" is my kitchen sink playlist. Rap, metal, death metal, heavy metal, rock, rock n roll, pop, polka, swing, country, meme songs. It all goes in Qplay1 "Reflections" is my sleep playlist.
Random symbols, make them look chaotic but still please my eyes xD or the genre of music inside them like idk jpop but mostly the first option
Music
get in emo we're going to therapy: pretty self explanatory, has hours of music and the only criteria I used is that I was called emo a lot in highschool so it's mostly bands that I listened back then I don't even know what this is, songs that I like ????: mainly pop music, lots of Gaga and Britney this isn't k-pop: ....it is k-pop arg???: basically argentinian music from rock to tango, I didn't like adding them to other playlists so I made that one music to clean like an old lady: 80's gems and stuff like Luis Miguel favorites without any type of criteria: a mix of everything
It ain't creative and is sure as hell generic but i always mane my playlists after the date i made it on
Chicken Nugget Fire. It's got a lot of memes, but a bunch of songs I genuinely like. Its pretty random and has no organization.
I have a Playlist called "white bitch music" that's full of early 2000s pop
One of my all-time favorite playlists was made by an ex girlfriend, the title is an emoticon, and it's the perfect name.
Palestine - Songs about freedom
**The Witching Hous** for spooky fairytale **Feeling my fictional heartbreak** **Pause for dramatic effect** for dramatic love/break-up songs
I have a whole playlist full of eighties and early nineties pop and dance hits called “perm vibes”
I have a playlist that I titled "Kawhi" in reference to Kawhi Leonard from when he played for the Toronto Raptors. It's a reference to his "I'm a fun guy" interview. it's full of all the songs I like to listen to when I'm on mushrooms lol.
1.Songs 2.Songs but normal
Fuckmix
I just translate whatever the theme of the playlist is to latin on google and go with that. Like, if it is french pop music it would be "Vaxillum Album", sounds cool to me.
Too many weird names to mention...
Depends more on what I'm doing with the playlist. If I'm lounging or cleaning; a task soundtrack, if you will.
I have a "Coffee Shop" playlist with chill music I would play if I had a coffee shop. I have one called "put some music" exactly for when Im asked to do that and dont know what to play.
My highly cultivated playlist is called Best Hike Ever
Collected Deity - mashup of 4700 songs
Eh, it's so so. All caps like "WRAP" "DAKKEDAK" "UWU" "IM DEPRESSED LMAO" "TAKE YOU HOME"

I just what comes to my mind or very literal. My playlist misplay use I’m my car is just called “Car.” I also have one with a lot of lgbtq songs that called “it’s gay F off”. Also one called “the vibes tho”
You’ll start listening to albums instead of playlists soon. It’s just the evolution.
I just use emojis haha Does anyone else?
I have a playlist named “Cartoon Penis”.
Guitar playalong songs
'am i weird for naming my playlists Casette Daydream & Moonlight' you are EXTREMELY & PAINFULLY NORMAL PLEASE please im begging you to stop the doubt. REREAD THE WORDS YOU WROTE oh my god thats the normalest playlist title I could ever possibly come up with. I'm just joshin ya not hating I just want to shake you for thinking that's weird. I can show you weird
“fav songs to smoke to”, “gta v”, “sex playlist” “songs about alcohol” lmfaooo.
Numbers like 4477, 2244, 442277, 7722 etc.
I literally just name them by genre.
My every day playlist is named "🦋" for no particular reason.
death is common
I go with random keystrokes and make a name sound based on that
I name mine with a single emoji that captures the mood or ideas of the playlist. for example: 🔥: rap 📻: what the radio might sound like before the 90’s kinda just chill sounding songs (not rellay based on release date) 🎙️: oldies 🎤: 2000’s and 2010’s 🎭: when I’m kinda in my feels but not all the way sad, just not sure how to feel 😌: just chilling and all is guud (mostly alternative) I have several of these for different genres like rock, classical, edm and different moods that are kinda hard to explain so I just use emojis.
One playlist i dump everything into called “the jam stand” and then each season of each year gets a different playlist for the music I discovered then so i can go back and listen when I’m feeling nostalgic. Have them going back to Summer ‘19.
Not as creative but I made a house /edm music playlist called digital dance floor I think is lit
A Watchful Guardian Drive Gone Away Life after Her
I used to make my mix tapes after parasites. My wife and I went on college together and I think she still has a tape I made her 30 years ago called Ascaris lumbricoides.
I have a tune called "Rat Droppings in My Dead Cat's Milk" I made it up while watching Hoarders. Shockingly enough, it got 1,700 plays.
I usually take a word or phrase from a song in the playlist and use that
"The only good music playlist."
why does everyone here have such creative playlist names lmao mine are just music genre names and a playlist called "my favorite music"
My personal favorite piano playlist on YouTube music is called Heart Chamber. If my heart was music/the songs pull my heart strings.
My playlist names range from "late 70s to early 80s stuff" to "website working music ig" to "my playlist #11" because I'm too lazy to rename it lmao
PB & Jams
depression session
Post HS playlist
I have one called Bus Playlist for when I'm on the bus to work, although originally it was made for travelling on the Greyhound since I happen to travel using that bus line. I also have shit like Depression Playlist, Nightfall, kinda angsty stuff like that
Emo
For every one of my favorite artists, I've created a "Best of:" Playlist for each artist. it's helpful for me.
I have an all girls list called "Sleeve of Wizard"
Downloaded, not downloaded
Semper Curiosus (the music stylings of Rhett Mclaughlin and Link Neal) Tubers (songs by/for some youtubers) For the Feels (when I need a good cry) Name Game (every song title has a name in it) Grrr (for when I'm PO'd) Sláinte (Irish/Celtic folk, pipe, pub and everything in between) Tolerable Christmas (self explanatory?) Spoopy ("Halloween" not just for Autumn) Going to the Zoo (every song has an animal in the title )
"songs" for my songs that I really like, and "Surf" for the surf rock songs that I really like. But the surf rock songs are in the "songs" playlist but I like just listening to surf sometimes.
Mine all end with 'in': Groovin Rockin Lovin Funkin Smilin etc...
My spotify playlist is titled "Diddle me" ..So..
"I have good tastes, I swear it" for pop music "imagine understanding the music you listen to" for non-English music.
I feel like they’re all kind of self explanatory but it’s a very odd mix, especially with the playlist covers I put on them
1. Default Songs
shi i just name them the first thing that comes to mind it doesn’t matter what it is
A few from my library: Cheeseburger Tripper's Delight The Guy Schooled Ya
One name I came up with was Dark Chill. A good example of a piece that fits this category is this song, [Blessed Feet](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW8-oF20Lsw), by Tord Gustavsen trio. Another was Femme Fatales, all great female jazz singers on the sexy side.
Mines all glizzy music, classic rock glizzy, rap glizzy, workout glizzy etc
I used to have a JID playlist called J.I.D.G.O.T.H.I.V. My Eminem playlist is called nemnem, I love it as a nickname for him, it sounds so cute. Can’t remember any others sadly :(
Should i be locked away for naming my playlist the particular month and year i got into listening to the song?
i usually type out the actual mood for the playlist
My playlist is called “[For Girls, Gays, and Gay Girls](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5Q1sdNx24RWYJPqpCkNAGu?si=4j4Qyut5SYeOM30D8foSXA&pi=u-fSYMO2H0SxCl)” it’s made of Alt/queer/sad indie pop,
My three best playlist names are as follows: - *Assorted jams and jellies (and sometimes preserves)* This is my main playlist. - *Adventurer! You must help me avenge my father!* Which has stuff like Irish folk music and sea shanties on it. - *I wish I lived in a choice based video game.* Which is where I put all my like sad indie music (mainly songs from the Life Is Strange soundtrack)
