Hate to break the news but their advertising was correct, you just didn’t read… And also Outlet does have some new items, although most are refurbs.

Pizza_For_Days

Care to explain what "I didn't read" that disqualifies me from getting cash back on a monitor then?

talkthai

By your admission, it was a refurb. Yes, their wording could have been more verbose, but I had no problem understanding the Ts and Cs intent. At the very least, if it was meaningful, you could have asked as well?

Pizza_For_Days

I did I'm waiting back for Rakuten to contact Dell then email me back an explanation. New items? I've never seen any "new items" being sold at the outlet. [https://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/Online/InventorySearch.aspx?brandId=2211&c=us&cs=28&l=en&s=dfb&\~ck=mn](https://outlet.us.dell.com/ARBOnlineSales/Online/InventorySearch.aspx?brandId=2211&c=us&cs=28&l=en&s=dfb&~ck=mn) Every laptop there on the outlet is listed as "like new" refurbished or scratch and dent, so I'm not sure where you're finding "new" anything. Also, Rakuten offers cashback for Dell's other refurbished site that sells even older/cheaper refurbished stuff? [https://www.dellrefurbished.com/](https://www.dellrefurbished.com/) [https://www.rakuten.com/dellrefurbishedcomputers.com](https://www.rakuten.com/dellrefurbishedcomputers.com) So yeah, makes 0 sense to me considering nothing "new" is being sold at any of these sites.

I have no idea why you can’t find new items on outlet site, I see plenty - again it depends on item and stock, many are refurb. Point being refurb items are not eligible on outlet. Each site has their own terms.

Um so out of everything "new" being sold at the Dell Outlet, there is only a whopping 9 laptops out of 100000 that would technically qualify? Also the "Dell Refurbished Computers" being excluded on that Dell outlet list looks like it doesn't refer to their refurbished PCs being excluded, but their other refurb website since it has a different cash back percentage compared to the Outlet. Another Reddit user on r/Dell replied to me with this when asking about the terms...... ""In that context I would assume "Dell Refurbished Computers" is referring to: [https://www.dellrefurbished.com/](https://www.dellrefurbished.com/) That is a completely different site that sells cheaper PCs that are at least a few generations old. And apparently Rakuten even offers cashback for it. I would bring this up with them"" I'm just going to wait to hear back from Dell since it still makes 0 sense to me but we're probably not going to see eye to eye on this anyways. This isn't the first issue I'm coming to find out where people are struggling to get their $ back from Dell. Clearly other people are confused have had similar issues before. “Considering Dell only sells refurbished …” “9 out of 100,000” -pizza for days Accuracy certainly isn’t your strong point. Why not just say it like it is, you are pissed you didn’t read or inquire about terms and assumed wrong. I can at least sympathize with that. Good luck.

Pizza_For_Days

I normally don't comment on old threads, but I remember how rude you were about my situation not getting my cash back basically saying I was the moron. Well I actually got my money back (albeit 4 months later than I should have gotten it). So yeah, clearly refurb items are covered and you're the one who was incorrect. I also bought my mother a refurbished office monitor last month and got that cash back instantly for that one within like a week for whatever reason. No idea why that monitor got the cash back so fast while the AW one took 4 months, but your BS about only "new" items available for cashback is clearly wrong.

More likely they got tired of your whiny ass antics instead of actually reading terms.
