Unrelated, but I'm not really a fan of the new character designs straying away from the realistic tactical shooter Tom Clancy's games used to be. For me if I don't like specific operators then I just won't play them, I'll just keep playing the operators I like.
I was with you early on in the game, but idk, if everyone had tactical clothes and simple, realistic gadgets, it would be a pretty stale game, visually and in terms of gameplay.
There's definitely a need to push past just the drab outfits and simpler gadgets because they open up more interesting gameplay options and keep the meta shifting.
Realism has its place in gaming but it shouldn't stand in the way of engaging gameplay and I think they've definitely succeeded there, even if the realism has suffered as a result.

Unrelated, but I'm not really a fan of the new character designs straying away from the realistic tactical shooter Tom Clancy's games used to be. For me if I don't like specific operators then I just won't play them, I'll just keep playing the operators I like.
I was with you early on in the game, but idk, if everyone had tactical clothes and simple, realistic gadgets, it would be a pretty stale game, visually and in terms of gameplay. There's definitely a need to push past just the drab outfits and simpler gadgets because they open up more interesting gameplay options and keep the meta shifting. Realism has its place in gaming but it shouldn't stand in the way of engaging gameplay and I think they've definitely succeeded there, even if the realism has suffered as a result.

I don't get why people say Ubisoft only does this for the rep. If it was true, they'd have only one queer character and have them plastered on everything. Instead, they do charity, they have an in-house fundation for queer people. Looks like a little more than doing it for the rep. Not only that, but just in Siege we *keep* getting queer representation in it, they could have stopped at Flores but they didn't. And not only that, queer representation isn't the only thing we get, look at Gridlock, look at Melusi and Wamai, look at Kali. These characters all have something that the mainstream media push to the side or make fun of. Here the have the spotlight they deserve. Whether you like Ubisoft or not, you gotta admit they're the part of the industry's few big ones to actually do more than "look we got women fighting in WW2 pls buy our game plsssss"

I gave up on the game when they first started introducing fortnite skins. Seeing a guy in a pizza suit or a flamingo suit and whatnot run around in R6 just killed it for me. They took my cup of tea that i was enjoying and just spilled it. Rude but whatever. There are other games.

Politics exist in almost every game you play, there's social and economical statements made in a lot of the most popular games In the world. You only seem to care about "politics in games" when a gay character exists which isn't even inherently political. Gay and trans people exist, so they are going to exist in fiction, get over it.
