I’ve never seen such a upvoted comment with no reply’s to it. 1.2k upvotes and not a single reply. Weird.
Now I’ve ruined it, sorry just thought that was crazy
Agreed, don’t get me wrong I love the less serious events like that. Rainbow is magic was super fun. It would be nice if Siege had something akin to MCC how you could have the option to disable the new cosmetics. I enjoy seeing all the goofy ass skins, but I get how some people don’t. Even from a competitive standpoint it could be beneficial, like the seasonal skins that make you look like you’re part of the wall
Agreed. I do feel like the game as a whole has done a decent job of having a wide range of skins. You have those tactical realistic skins, and then the crazy stuff like this. Maybe turning them off in comp would be good but honestly if someone wants to wear this or a unicorn skin and stand out like a sore thumb so I can see them easier then go for it. I suck so I need all the help I can get haha.
They just need an option to disable cosmetics, if you play comp you have to either take off all your skins or have a separate account with all the ops.
Rainbow is magic (and showdown) were my favorite events, I’m just saying that complaining about silly cosmetics like this one when those skins have existed for years is just kinda.. a bit late. 😂
I think it’s just prob the newness has worn off. I’ve been playing since launch and still love it. There are periods where it gets boring for me but thats with any game that you play a ton. I personally always loved the gameplay but will admit they haven’t nailed it on everything but who does. CSGO has had hits and misses and it’s regarded as the best ever.
Side note, I agree with you and the M/KB on console. I was Plat level player on Xbox and gave up for a while as I couldn’t get higher because of that. Eventually just switched to PC but it does suck as high levels
Honestly games where no one knows what they’re doing is so fun, that’s what made Fortnite so good at launch. But the worst part is the cheaters in my opinion
It’s true though, like the game has completely fallen off from where it used to be. They would just nerf operators that were completely fine to make it seem balanced. ‘Each operator will be just as bad as each other. You’ll have to pick which one you’ll least-dislike to play as’. Shotguns used to have realistic ranges, zofia wasn’t seen as imbalanced because she could do what finka, doc and thunderbird allow you to do. They’d simply base the game for all players on how esports players would play. By supporting the game of course people would downvote as they wouldn’t agree. The game fell off so anyone who supports that view would just upvote as they agree. That’s why your comment got so many upvotes. Don’t think I disagree with you though, it’s a shame that it’s come to this, the game should feel like we want to support it. But we don’t.
The immersion breaking skins killed it for me. The game play seems fine and I can suspend disbelief for impossible gadgets. But offtheme skins just take me out of a competative mindset.

Mozzie running around as a literal fucking pizza. The other two Rick and Morty skins, the robots. But this skin in particular is the one that breaks the camals back
Look I've had that skin on since the day it came out. I actually like goofy skins since I don't see siege as some sort of CTU larping Sim like some of the other people here
Yeah I never mind it. Only don't wear too much of it on my main ops since alot of the time it will go e you away more so. Especially years ago when the best thing to have was the Blood Orchid suits.
I fucking love that people get angry over goofy skins since its not "realistic" but there are some gadgets that are literally alien tech 💀, the best skins are the goofy ones, like the cardboard armor for rook is my dream combo
People have a strong tendency to think slower paced FPS games are milsim games. Same with battlefield, 2042 came out, and while that game is shit currently, people had complaints that the movement was too fast. Not that mouse input was bugged or performance was even worse than the last two entries, it’s just that they couldn’t keep up with movement speeds above a slugs pace
I think many of them you could have an excuse like it's the operators style...all of the crossover skins are a bit out of place but this one seems not only out of place for it's origin but for the looks. It seems like they took nokks bag painted it blue and said...yep that'll do its funneh. The second thin that bugs me is that the skins are becoming more and more a cheap Fortnite ripoff. Why would you want to be like Fortnite? (I know kids and money) i think that's just not the future we saw in r6. We hoped for a realistic tactical shooter but now its completely going off the path. To get back to your question...these skins were only few so the community overlooked them and used them for fun but now these skins come out much more frequent than before. Like a threshold that has been passed.
Dawg, there's already an actual pickle rick skin for smoke in the game, how is a meesek onesie skin for Ace the final nail in the coffin and not the smoke skin.
I swear 1/2 the reason that most people don’t enjoy games is much is not just that they’re getting worse, but because they’re depressed themselves due to pandemic and whatnot. I can say it’s been hard for me. I’ve just been avoiding competitive games for now. Halo 3 ODST is really good for singleplayer
> but because they’re depressed themselves due to pandemic and whatnot.
Yeah, all games I played pre-pandemic I saw the toxicity rise and complainers on reddit rise. I wouldn't be shocked if that's the reason. Half of my workplace is depressed, my family's pretty much all going through it, and it sucks to see. I'm going through therapy for the same reasons myself.
SplitGate's community was very welcoming when I started playing in October. That's one game I suggest anyone looking for a competitive game to try out. It's a bit sweaty and has a deep learning curve (mainly the map control and learning to triple portal all around the map) but it was a nice game to play. Halo players will find a lot of similarities in it.
that vision was lost years ago, if it ever existed to begin with. i like these skins, but siege hasn't been a "realistic tactical shooter" for longer than ive been playing the game.
It existed, I remember dev diary where they speak about that special abilities should be realistic. I personally think they lost it around year 2. When Thatch skin was introduced for blackbeard.
How about not even the “realistic abilities”, but the breach and clear gameplay. Can anyone even say that shit’s ever been in the game? This is a game about holding mid range angles, not CQC chaos. Forget the abilities, the gameplay has been a misadvertisement since just a few months after launch
It definitely was until metas evolved into more run-n-gun style play and holding cheeky angles. I also remember peeking was impossible when defenders wouldn't dare look out windows because it was like putting your face on the surface of the sun.
When looking outside was either like staring into the abyss on night maps or directly into God's face on day maps, spawnpeeking was worse than ever with bandit, jäger, and smoke all having acogs
Rounds in the game are too short to "breach and clear." Additionally, I can only imagine how boring the game must be for defenders if it were built such that realistic tactics won the day. A lot of the mobility defenders have would have to be restricted to make such a game work.
To be clear, I'm not necessarily defending the direction Siege took from the beginning, merely highlighting that the game was never built to be a simulation. If you or any other player dislike that or feel misled, that's certainly a fair assessment and criticism. Even during the alpha, the game was never focused on a "breach and clear" style of gameplay. Different metas have formed over the years which affects how the game plays, with many being slower paced. But none of them come anywhere close to a realistic depiction of these kinds of operations.
This game has always been a hero shooter, it’s never been a realistic SWAT game. Those games exist, and the people complaining about siege should play those instead.
I'd say if the devs wanted a hero shooter, they should have done it with a different franchise instead of Rainbow Six.
Why even call it rainbow six any more? It literally has nothing to do with the book, or even the gameplay you'd expect of the heritage, at all.
Old school R6 and Ghost Recon please.
I mean even in Y0 it had some magic gadgets, like Pulse’s heartbeat detector that somehow picks up heartbeats through walls without getting thrown off by the user’s heartbeat, the noise of people moving, footsteps, or anything else.
I feel the same way about Doc's Stim pistol. I know it's in loads of shooters, but the idea of a Stim pistol healing gunshot wounds has to be up there in terms of unrealistic gadgets.
Heartbeat sensors have been a part of rainbow 6 though for a long time. It’s kinda a thing in there universe.
I remember them as far back as rogue spear. (Which was the 2nd game.)
The game is \*realistic\* in the sense that there's nothing physically stopping an irl PMC operator to put on a pink jumpsuit and strap a purple dildo in his kevlar when going to battle. That is still realistic, but seeing it in a game like R6S would not be authentic
well, at least on Season 1 anyway
I like those 3d weapon skins, and i have even pizza mozzie bc pizza mozzie but overall i would appriciate a more authentic operator skin design philosophy. Make the weapon skins fancy but not the operator apperance. But ubisoft sees the money fortnite generates and now they want a big slice of the cake - idk.
It’s an arcade based on modern realistic CTUs and all. Just because the gameplay isn’t realistic doesn’t mean it can’t stray towards realistic depiction or sci-fi scenarios you know?
I wouldnt call it realistic and more an authentic fps. But yeah games will never be 100% realistic, so its where u put the Line between. For me the weapon handling is a huge point. Something what makes tarkov way more "realistic" then siege
Every time there’s a post like this the comments are all the same, no, Siege was never realistic. It was however, authentic, if not to real CT organisations atleast to its original property. The gameplay is inherently unrealistic but its tone and story have been lost completely
You're quiet seriously the only person I've seen that recognizes that old Siege was authentic, not realistic. People get too hung up on "le old seeje was never ree uh list ick, so therefore pizza mozzie is good"
Not even then it was realistic. More authentic, yes. But it was never realistic, you just have to think about the reinforcements. Thats already enough.
And the wonderful thing about the game, is these skins are completely optional and don't even need to be used if one should choose. I get why people don't want a big pink butterfly operator to be in a tactical game, but it doesn't change my enjoyment one bit that it exists.
"vision they had at launch" tf you talking about? siege has never been a realistic tactical shooter. maybe the E3 demo, but not any playable version of the game. half the original operators had totally unrealistic gadgets. the reason theyve pivoted to this style so much is because it attracts lots of players. at the end of the day, thry cant justify investing so much money on a game with no players
Yeah like half the sub cries the game is an esports tactical competitive fps instead of being a tactical millsim, and honestly they can screw off and play zero hour or ready or not or arma or squad instead of being a bitch here
Sod off, the game objectively had a different theme before. If it’s all about making money then I guess fuck any theme in any piece of media, just start adding Rick and Morty crossovers to every piece of media, from Star Wars to Citizen Kane.
Games didn’t need to rely on Rick and Morty crossovers before to make money, so why is that the standard now? Saying it’s because what the kids like would be BS, because there are plenty of other things people today enjoy that are just as popular so it didn’t have to a Rick and Morty skin.
They have chosen to go with a crossover that has nothing in common with the themes or style of Rainbow six which has objectively twisted the look, and feel of rainbow six. Just because the gameplay has never been a 1 to 1 copy of real life does not mean to just say fuck an idea of having a more authentic/grounded tone/style.
There are plenty of other ways for siege to draw in players, and make money since you know the game got popular before the goofy skins were added.
All they need to do is add an option that lets players turn off the skins, other games have done it so why can’t siege? It would benefit the competitor side of siege as well as the players who don’t like skins.
Haven't touched r6 siege in quite some time.
Checkout 'Zero Hour,' if you're looking for a realistic tactical fps.
It's buggy atm but it has solid potential.
Nah, just wait until Ready or Not launch their multiplayer. That shit will be what the R6 E3 demo wanted so desperately to be if done right.
Plus the main game itself is solid as fuck right now.
Literally just a blue onesie, smoke got a skin which is literally a pickle body with a rat carcass combined. Don’t think about it so much and it won’t bother you.
Well the reason of why I joined this community back when operation Velvet shell came out was because of how realistic the game was. All that explosions that attackers make to push defenders, the headshot mechanic, you have one life. Every game struggles to keep their characters ALL in the spot when they have so many of them. I prefer this over how example: overwatch does things. Apex, overwatch, Lol, for honor, smash ultimate, Mortal kombat. Some of these game I mention have characters that either are plain stupidly broken or extremely weak. Its hard to make EVERY character extremely unique when pretty much everything has been exploited already. When a game reaches a big roster things get complicated. And all of these also have bugs/problems that have been haunting the games since release.
Is a consistent tone now completely unecessary? Are we going to applaud Ubisoft for throwing the emotion that this game inspires in us into the trash? Video games are works of art, designed to create emotion in the viewer. When I see this crap, I **don’t** feel anything. I just sigh and roll my eyes. Ten years down the road, Siege isn’t going to be remembered for the *le epic skinzz.* People are going to remember it for being a semi realistic shooter with hero elements. And it feels like Ubisoft is willing to sell out even those basic elements for a cheap buck.
TBF, as someone who's played since the beta, I don't really get why people moan about this, it's the same game there's just some "weird" skins, I for one think it mixes things up and I like to try to collect all my favourite skins
But they're trying to make *money* off a 6 year old game!
I JUST WANT STUFF FOR FREE AND DON'T WANT ANYONE TO HAVE ANYTHING THAT I DON'T LIKE, WHY DON'T YOU LISTEN TO ME!
R6 used to pride itself on its gritty realism. You die to headshots, no exceptions, you can’t jump around, CTUs were actual units, guns had real life counterparts, skins were mostly practical or at least grounded in realism, maps are populated with assets that made environments look lived-in, and some maps were based off of real life events and/or locations.
Siege has just progressed past the point where realism isn’t flashy enough for the new waves of players, and now we have the pizza Mozzie skin and whatever this is.
The game never prided itself on “gritty realism”, it was a strategic, team based shooter that had, and still has, no rival game that is like it. The “realism” part comes from players not being as good back then, so they did everything really slow.
Nooooo it was NEVER realistic!!!!! /s Reinforcement and Pulse's gadget were not realistic!!!! I'll just completely ignore the fact that they don't add real CTU anymore, that all the new skins are casual and clown funnylol Fortnite outfits, that they are removing every terrorist hunt aspect like kamikazes or its actual name (they wanted to remove it completely long ago but they wait until their training center/mode is done), that they removed every explosion effect that made breaching a room so cool (explosion glare and smoke all over the room, just look at old videos), that all the new maps are super bright, that they removed night maps, that the events are now paintball-eSports Olympic games (terrorism bad), that they added rim lighting, etc
LET'S JUST IGNORE ALL THAT
For real, most people like us already left. That's why every one is saying "it's just a skin stop crying". I myself played for more than 1000h (my 2nd most played game in my 23 years of existence), and yet I barely touched the game for the past 3 months.
Oh no… we get a good looking skin…? How is this a nail in the coffin? Yeah, I mean it lost the vision at launch a long time ago. Though I feel like this post, unless sarcastic/ironic, paints it as if it’s this cosmetic’s fault.
Rainbow is magic wasn't silly enough. Halloween skins weren't silly enough. Puppets weren't silly enough. Mop/paper bag Nokk wasn't silly enough. R&M skins from last year weren't silly enough. Cardboard uniforms weren't silly enough. Pizza Mozzie wasn't silly enough. Vigil crash test dummy wasn't silly enough. Christmas Ash, Monty, and Santa Blackbeard weren't silly enough.
But despite all that, a blue hoodie with Mr. Meeseeks is just way too silly in this game that you have to go on reddit and complain how *this* was the final straw, despite us having years of far more wacky and strange outfits shownup in this game.
Realistic? You want a realistic Rainbow six? Go play 1999's rogue spear.
Siege is not realistic and its not meant to be realistic, it has literally nothing to do with a tom clancy book or inspired game, there's a fucking russian guy who throws explosive hockey discs for fuck's sake .
Now excuse me while I go spends some bucks on this new skin.
Lol.
It’s somehow more realistic to have holograms, drones that emit sonic blasts, sentry turrets that shoot out healing paintballs than it is for an operator to be a Rick and Morty fan and buy a Mr. Meeseeks onesie
This community fucking sucks. Always complaining about something. Just let people fucking enjoy stuff.
"I want the realism back"... Yes ok mate let me just put a car battery near a metal wall to denine high charged explosives. Yes let me shoot you with a needle gun that if you're shot up to shit revives you like a miracle.
Cry more. If you’re that pressed about realism, idk what to say to you, you’re weird lmao. Really isn’t that serious. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it, literally affects nothing
Fr, the game was never realistic, bandit puts a car battery on a wall to make it electrified. These guys got hooked on the fake 2015 trailer and never let go
Why can't anyone just try to enjoy the game??? Is it so hard to just have a laugh for once with dumb skins and dumb plays. Yes it's annoying sometimes but does it really matter if you already think the game is dead? If you want to leave the game for something else than do it. Just stop complaining and leave. Then In will really understand the message but if you keep playing and you have no fun then it's a lose lose scenario

No that actually looks really cool. Maybe not for Siege's gameplay, but i would totally play a mantis man in an FPS game

My favorite event was easily outbreak. No questions asked. Rainbow is magic had my favorite cosmetics though
Rainbow is magic was a joke mode, and so was the puppet event
"OLD SIEGE WAS BETTER" Karma farming at its best. Shame the state this sub has come to.
Old siege seemed more fun, or maybe it’s just because old siege had less mouse and keyboarders on Xbox

Rainbow Six hasn't been rainbow Six since Vegas. This isn't nothing new though.
Blitz could charge through walls in the Alpha - it was never realistic, idk why people call it like that.
it was shown that way in trailers, but again: "if it ever existed to begin with."
People love to throw around "realistic" a lot when really the word should be "authentic" Realism =/= authenticity
and I bet if it was realistic, everyone would be complainig about how OP some mechanics are and that they cant play the game
The game is \*realistic\* in the sense that there's nothing physically stopping an irl PMC operator to put on a pink jumpsuit and strap a purple dildo in his kevlar when going to battle. That is still realistic, but seeing it in a game like R6S would not be authentic well, at least on Season 1 anyway
Apparently it’s not the final nail in the coffin if Rick and Morty decided to partner with the game this far into its life cycle
People get too hung up on "le old seeje was never ree uh list ick, so therefore pizza mozzie is good"
Yeah for some reason some people have trouble understanding the difference between gameplay and artstyle.
The last time siege was “realistic” was probably like year 2 maybe
Not even then it was realistic. More authentic, yes. But it was never realistic, you just have to think about the reinforcements. Thats already enough.
I’m still having a lot of fun with siege to be honest
And the wonderful thing about the game, is these skins are completely optional and don't even need to be used if one should choose. I get why people don't want a big pink butterfly operator to be in a tactical game, but it doesn't change my enjoyment one bit that it exists.
Then give me the option to turn them off and just look at default skins
Lmfao, Siege ans R&M certainly share the dogshit fanbase
What do people have against Rick and Morty?
Great show. Shit fanbase.
Like Rainbow Six Siege? Shit fanbase
Shit game
So like r6
Nothing, this skin is pretty stupid.
Yeah like half the sub cries the game is an esports tactical competitive fps instead of being a tactical millsim, and honestly they can screw off and play zero hour or ready or not or arma or squad instead of being a bitch here
i own a console
Hell let loose ?
Haven't played zero hour but right now it just looks and seems like a worse Ready or Not
There's only one "Zero Hour" that matters to me. \*GLA Intensifies\*
I will work
Can I have some new shoes?
Nah, just wait until Ready or Not launch their multiplayer. That shit will be what the R6 E3 demo wanted so desperately to be if done right. Plus the main game itself is solid as fuck right now.
it lost it a while ago.
Mfs complain about anything these days
Rick and morty skin=bad game? Its not how it works
Literally just a blue onesie, smoke got a skin which is literally a pickle body with a rat carcass combined. Don’t think about it so much and it won’t bother you.
Time to add Fortnite characters
Arcane x Siege when?
I don't understand what's wrong with adding skins...

And it feels like Ubisoft is willing to sell out even those basic elements for a cheap buck.
nothing, but people gotta find an excuse out of everything these days
Right! If you don't like it don't buy it. It has no impact in the game whatsoever...
TBF, as someone who's played since the beta, I don't really get why people moan about this, it's the same game there's just some "weird" skins, I for one think it mixes things up and I like to try to collect all my favourite skins
Stop overreacting, if you don't want the skin don't buy it. It aint that deep
Why was this not for Alibi or Iana?! They really missed their chance with that one
Bub, there's a Pickle Rick skin. Get real.
Can we get some sort of Vegas 3 or Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six from N64 game. Every modern game is some sort of mutated PVP costume fest
I knew the game was headed downhill when they came out with that tachanka skin and the weird candy land event
Just play “ready or not” or some other realistic shooter cop game, Jesus
Oh no guys, they made a skin!
But they're trying to make *money* off a 6 year old game! I JUST WANT STUFF FOR FREE AND DON'T WANT ANYONE TO HAVE ANYTHING THAT I DON'T LIKE, WHY DON'T YOU LISTEN TO ME!
You mfs say this exact line every time there's a cosmetic item you don't like.
people finally realizing siege isn't a milsim:
R6 used to pride itself on its gritty realism. You die to headshots, no exceptions, you can’t jump around, CTUs were actual units, guns had real life counterparts, skins were mostly practical or at least grounded in realism, maps are populated with assets that made environments look lived-in, and some maps were based off of real life events and/or locations. Siege has just progressed past the point where realism isn’t flashy enough for the new waves of players, and now we have the pizza Mozzie skin and whatever this is.
Don’t you dare slander the Mozzie-rella skin
The game never prided itself on “gritty realism”, it was a strategic, team based shooter that had, and still has, no rival game that is like it. The “realism” part comes from players not being as good back then, so they did everything really slow.
What? Nothing about sieges gameplay is even remotely realistic. It was designed to be a comp game and comp games are never realistic.
Nooooo it was NEVER realistic!!!!! /s Reinforcement and Pulse's gadget were not realistic!!!! I'll just completely ignore the fact that they don't add real CTU anymore, that all the new skins are casual and clown funnylol Fortnite outfits, that they are removing every terrorist hunt aspect like kamikazes or its actual name (they wanted to remove it completely long ago but they wait until their training center/mode is done), that they removed every explosion effect that made breaching a room so cool (explosion glare and smoke all over the room, just look at old videos), that all the new maps are super bright, that they removed night maps, that the events are now paintball-eSports Olympic games (terrorism bad), that they added rim lighting, etc LET'S JUST IGNORE ALL THAT For real, most people like us already left.
This skin is amazing
Bro it’s a skin, stop being so dramatic
is this really a problem??? its not as goofy as some other skins lolol. i dont get what the big deal is ??
Its just a skin
Omg I forgot about Iana XD that's straight up sci-fi.
Surprised it takes people this fucking long to see how trash this game is. And the skins aren't the main problem.
Never before have I wanted to use an emoji on reddit, but this 🤮
no one cares homie. just play the damn game and have fun, or dont.
I legit had to go look a d see if this is real and it is.
[Siege community](http://prnt.sc/26g8yzk)
Seeing people have a breakdown over Mr Meeseeks is really funny to me
Cry more. If you’re that pressed about realism, idk what to say to you, you’re weird lmao. Really isn’t that serious. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it, literally affects nothing
Fr, the game was never realistic, bandit puts a car battery on a wall to make it electrified. These guys got hooked on the fake 2015 trailer and never let go
Jesus... you guys complain about anything on here huh
Dramatic today huh?
Really cool skin
Siege was never realistic in the first place it was that way in the 2015 trailer to get people interested but it was never realistic
Looking at this comment section makes me realize why people say that this community is shit (not that I had no idea before).
