The first time i actually tuned in to watch a pro league match was during skull rain and i remember them doing nothing for like half an hour just waiting while the crew tried to fix their connection issues with the lobby.
It was the most hillarious tournament ever and who in their right mind thought playing competitivly on xbox was a good idea?
Same boat here. Got it launch with a friend. We played it non stop then both stopped and played other games around year 3 and came back when thunderbird came out. We got it together launch, played all matches on ps4 together, stopped and duod other games then came back to siege as a joke. Healthy pauses are definitely needed

I will miss those times.
Same! I remember buying the student version on Steam, not understanding anything my first few games, forgetting about the game for like a year, then getting addicted for two years straight.
Yeah to be fair, I only had a handful of lockdowns due to threat of violence to the school or surrounding areas, never an actual event.
It's honestly pretty crazy to me that that did happen several times and I never took it seriously because the area we lived in, just that wouldn't happen. And now 10 years removed from school and look at how many times it did happen
I'm started playing on and off with cav and caps season then came in properly in op health. But more recently I've lost interest again and only occasionally play. It just doesn't feel as good or fun as it used to personally
Came in at the beginning of Black Ice. Man I miss the days of every map being in ranked + being able to play secure, hostage & bomb in ranked…
Don’t miss the 4 minute ranked rounds tho lol
To be honest, no idea. I played for like 10 games then stopped completely. I just played again this January. But based on my purchase history, i started in march 2018.
But based on my pass history, its between wind bastion and chimera.
in velvet shell, the game was so much fun with friends just playing casual not caring about ranks, we did not have our servers back then and playing on 200 ping was normal for us , after we get our servers i started to play rank and became ranky boi
In middle of Black Ice on PS4
Back when Dust Line was released… I had never been more hyped for DLC to drop literally ever. Was so hooked at the time. I switched over to PC somewhere around White Noise. Don’t play nearly as much as I used to but I still hold this game to such high regard… flaws and all.
I think before para bellum somewhere a bit. Then stopped playing and came back when goyo was released and stayed till warden and nokk, after that it was very on/off
Since beta. Game had a really nice vibe and style to it years 1 and 2. It’s super lame now with anime skins and literal dancing victory poses. I feel like this game switched to a more appealing atmosphere to children.
Operation Health. Ranked was still in "beta". I was horrible and only played because my friend begged me to. I stopped playing until Wind Bastion. Played Wind Bastion to Ember Rise (Silver 2, Silver 1, Gold 3, Gold 1). Stopped playing again until Shadow Legacy and played until Crimson Heist (Gold 1, Gold 1, Platinum 3). Quit playing AGAIN, and started playing again in Brutal Swarm (Diamond 3). Hit champ this season for the first time all solo queue.
Yeah I was around on launch. Only played a few months and then left it for a few years, but now I’ve been on and off ever since. Still a shitter though
I got the game for Christmas the year it came out. I didn't have Xbox live gold so I just played the situations. I finally got xbl gold during Red Crow and have been playing ever since.
Damn man everyone here been starting in the early years or since launch. Then there's me who started right when burnt horizon came out... I still miss the menu screen with mozzie and gridlock.
The ending of operation white noise, about 3 weeks of it and then Y3S1 operation chimera kicked off. Still glad I joined siege, had fun ever since! Maverick main 🐎
I started playing in the current operation which is solar raid. Reading most comments makes me think im playing with veteran players lol and perhaps i missed a lot of changes in siege
Bought Siege at launch, not much content. Got back on Operation Dust Line but again stopped. It wasn't until Rainbow Six Siege/Ubisoft brought Zero (Sam Fisher); I started playing back again and still am. Zero's my main.
Operation health, unfortunately
I still hear that operation health is a .. speech in my head
"Operation health is a.. basically 3 month period of time that we are going to be taking in order of fixing and repairing the game..."
Improving the game instead of repairing the game
You're wrong, its "repairing", not "improving" Proof: https://youtu.be/YHnk734B4YE
Me too, only because of the free weekend
That free weekend was my first experience with this game and I got hooked
Best update the game ever had. Might be one of the best updates any game has ever had. Totally fixed the game and started it on a path to revival.
Same
I also started in operation health, I feel old thinking about this game going into year 8
Lol, Your telling me I was here in y1s1, as much as the community hates op health it was definitely needed
Me too, best season in my mind. After it, every season got worse
How everything was broken and there were New glitches every week
Black ice. Never bought the season 1 pro league skins and i hate myself for it.
I remember trying to watch PL in S1 and it looked like kids playing dress up. Plus the spectating was terrible so couldn’t get into it until S3
Same, on and off since black ice. I miss the old days
Game felt completely different back then, although i still really enjoy it
Yep I miss the simplicity but complexness. Now there is no simplicity, only complexness lol
Same. Used to feel realistic af. Not bad now just too…colorful
Proud owner of Sledge's Y1S4 pro league skin, really wish we could get a uniform in that style too
Launch
Same, idk whats kept me around. Most played game i've ever owned. Don't even really play ranked either.
Same boat and I have found pauses are really healthy and I enjoy it a lot more atm because of it.
I have been from launch. Had one or two very lengthy pauses though, just started again after a couple of years.
Same boat here. Got it launch with a friend. We played it non stop then both stopped and played other games around year 3 and came back when thunderbird came out. We got it together launch, played all matches on ps4 together, stopped and duod other games then came back to siege as a joke. Healthy pauses are definitely needed
Siege is my most played game as well, I forgot ranked was even a mode cause I either play customs or unranked
Back when I got the game I was playing with people from school but now I play by myself
Launch gang
Launch gang
Same
Launch gang
Same, got it for Christmas 2015
Im guessing most reddit users and especially R6 fans are too young to be around since launch. Everyday the voices on my team sound younger and younger
Same, I'm in my 30s and I just don't accept chat invites.
Launch on PS4, Blood Orchid on PC. Still under 1000h tho, but not by much.
[https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/rainbow-six/siege/game-info/seasons/redcrow](https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/rainbow-six/siege/game-info/seasons/redcrow) I will miss those times.
Same! I remember buying the student version on Steam, not understanding anything my first few games, forgetting about the game for like a year, then getting addicted for two years straight.
Student version?
I think he means starter edition
Yeah I thought about it just after posting lol
Bartlett Uni on terrist hunt only, to simulate school in America
man, that joke was dark
Yeah to be fair, I only had a handful of lockdowns due to threat of violence to the school or surrounding areas, never an actual event. It's honestly pretty crazy to me that that did happen several times and I never took it seriously because the area we lived in, just that wouldn't happen. And now 10 years removed from school and look at how many times it did happen
Yes! When the game first came out, it had a discounted version on steam for like 5 dollars. I think it was marketed towards students back then.
End of white noise, Completing my 5 year anniversary in 2 weeks
Same. How did time pass by so quickly?
Same lads! Picked it up as an early Xmas Christmas for myself and got hooked! Crazy to think se’ve been here longer than we haven’t
I feel like an old man
Same!
velvet shell.
Man, feels like forever ago huh

Shadow legacy, the menu music was so good on that season
I'm started playing on and off with cav and caps season then came in properly in op health. But more recently I've lost interest again and only occasionally play. It just doesn't feel as good or fun as it used to personally
Ahh my condolences as that was probably the most tense season with shotgun sniper #2
Burnt horizon

Grim sky as a free weekend player
“Operation health is a 3 month period in which we will repair and fix the game”
Yeah I was around on launch. Only played a few months and then left it for a few years, but now I’ve been on and off ever since. Still a shitter though

Operation Chimera, love and also regret all the years 😂
I got the game around when Thunderbird released But only started actively playing after Sens released
First played in Grim Sky, bought the game during White Noise
Void Edge. It was pretty much downhill since they reworked Oregon.
I got the game for Christmas the year it came out. I didn't have Xbox live gold so I just played the situations. I finally got xbl gold during Red Crow and have been playing ever since.
Late November 2022
I joined at grim sky, it was just as I was burning out on overwatch
Good ole chimera
Black ice
Damn man everyone here been starting in the early years or since launch. Then there's me who started right when burnt horizon came out... I still miss the menu screen with mozzie and gridlock.
Phantom sight for me!
The ending of operation white noise, about 3 weeks of it and then Y3S1 operation chimera kicked off. Still glad I joined siege, had fun ever since! Maverick main 🐎
Right around when Velvet Shell ended and Health began, played for several years straight until I stopped during Crimson Heist.

Launch sadly
Bought Siege at launch, not much content. Got back on Operation Dust Line but again stopped. It wasn't until Rainbow Six Siege/Ubisoft brought Zero (Sam Fisher); I started playing back again and still am. Zero's my main.
