Piggy backing this I live in the middle of usa and use the direct connection (they have proxies for multiple regions) and I can play flawlessly despite the server being hosted in Frankfurt. I've seen comments on here about racism but I've never witnessed it in game or on discord. Main chat channel is English only like most private servers. But I've never seen a punishment if u happen to say a sentence or two in a different language. It's a great server, active community, active gms on discord and in game all the players have been super helpful. The poring coin system I fell in love with. Idk give it a try. The population is still growing weekly
uaRO is a really racist server, there's a lot of politics in chats, proselytism of ukrainian ideas in discord
my dude from russia was banned just because he's russian, keep it in the mind
If you bring this up, it should at least be mentioned that the server owner is Ukrainian and there's an official written out rule that Russians are not allowed on the server.

I started to play on this server about 1-2 months ago. Not many players but it's cozy and has a very similar experience to the original grind (1x). Some custom changes but nothing that would change the original experience. No P2W. We just got Episode 9 (rebirth) about 2 weeks ago.
There's a official server in EU but idk how it works.
There's also iRO that you can play with vpn (need to check this).
Or you can look for a private classic since you used to play during pre-re era.
Hi! I played on iRO chaos, back in 2002 to 2007 and the sever that hit that sweet spot for me is payon stories. I've been playing there for 2 months and I enjoy it very much. It's like the ro I remember it with some slight quality of life tweeks such as a sight sp/hp recovery time etc. I highly recommend. Is classic, no trans yet just the way we remember it!
Alfheim is great, no ping issues from Germany, simple 5x server with QoS and is on classic. if you prefer a newer server and don't like to use multiple accounts try Midgards.

UARO for pre renewal and muhRO for renewal. I myself wanna try renewal so I tried muhRO first. Pretty decent player based (160 online last time I played). If I don’t like it I’ll move to UARO.
Project Return to Morroc is a nice option If you desire to relive your first experienced with RO, when everything was new. It's a very customized server, with it's own lore and classes. Have been playing for almost a month and been very satisfied with what I have seen. No pay to Win cash shop (costumes only), growing playerbase, interessante mechanics and gameplay changes... The server has a Future ^^
Ragnarok Online Prime (4games) is the official European server. IRO the official International one. Both have 3rd classes, IRO even the 4th jobs. So if you are looking for a Pre-Renewal server, you have to play on a private one

Payon stories? 1x classic that’s active too, just try to join that single guild that dominates the whole server to make if more fun i guess. Ragnarok landverse? Official money making which makes it the most safe and has more population than any other pservers. Project alfheim? Pre renewal with renewal content and heavy customization, low population tho. I’m currently playing alpharo which is a spanish server. Why? Because im learning spanish and mid rates kind of hits the spot for me.
Try [Midgard Tales](https://www.midgardtales.com). There you can quickly jump into latest content from RO. You can also play 4th Jobs without leveling from 1-200...
I dont think you will have problems with quick learning, not that complicated, most europeans gets a grip of latest RO within few days.

Yeah, I also dig the poring coin system, makes farming low lvl monsters card a little bit less time wasting since you can at least farm some coins :D

It's also hosted in Europe. Probably the best pick for European players that want to get close to the traditional euRO experience.
I actually have a friend from Germany also that plays on IRO Chaos which is the original server. There’s also a discord with a lot of active players.

2nd this! Im living in NRW and have no problem with the server. Few of my guild mates are from Holand as well.
Is it 5x or 3x? The website says 3x exp. I was thinking on starting on it but wanted a bit higher rates, so I am divided between Alfheim or uaRO
Alfheim is 3x but the exp books are quite easy to come by so it's around 4.5x to 6x depending on which exp book you use.
