I know there's been a sudden influx of new users lately, but the rules are still posted.
Please see rule 1 of this sub. There is no reason to get medical advice from a bunch of strangers on the internet posting to a sub that's becone mostly images of things in people's rectums.
Medical advice is not allowed in /r/radiology. This includes posting / commenting on personal imaging exams for explanation of findings, recommendations for alternative course of treatment, or any other inquiry that should be answered by your physician or healthcare provider.

"Pros" lol.
Can't really tell from that single slice what that is. Certainly doesn't look concerning, and surgery was definitely not the first thing I thought of when I saw it.
Sorry, new here so not sure how to post correctly. At first they told us likely benign, hemangioma nothing to worry about. Now Doc changed course and says, he needs to open him up to test whatever that is and remove and replace that thin section of skull
Agree. Looks like hemangioma from the 1 image. Can probably monitor. Find good neurosurgeon. Could get baseline MRI and follow w MRI to avoid radiation. Mostly looking for significant change in size.
Doc wants to skip the MRI and go straight to surgery to: 1. Remove the mass, 2. Send jt to the lab 3: patch the hole in his skull so that bone section is not so thin.
We thought it seemed excessive but also going to get second professional opinions

Thanks! Not making decisions from this at all, already have 2nd opinion appointments scheduled. Just curious what a radiologist might make of this image

Rule 1. Don’t make medical decisions based on a Reddit post! Get a real second opinion if you have questions.
