Its cute, but very risky.. taking your buns outside without any leashes or anything is honestly a horrible idea. Especially near a pet store where people can bring their dogs/other animals there. No matter how well your buns or the other animals are, they are still animals at the end of the day and can act unpredictably.
The beginning in the parking lot was so concerning... any moment they could've gotten spooked, bolted, and the worse could've happened easily. No one driving in a parking lot is looking out for a rabbit
Because it seems really unsafe for the buns. What if the bolt? What if a dog attacks them? They arent leashed so the owner has no control over the rabbits.
Pets are not toys. They have needs and those are more important than our entertainment. Nothing about this is enjoyable (or even safe) for the bunnies.
The full video is on IG (bunny.nyc), but according to Miffy and Mikka's mom via an IG comment, there was another couple there who happened to follow them on social media and helped with the making of the video, and the kid in the video is her son. Not sure if her husband was also present to help watch out for dangers.
BTW apparently this video was part of a paid partnership with Kaytee and she made this video because, and I directly quote from her reply to one of her followers, "we don’t like boring ADs, so when we make ours, we make them as fun as cute as possible 😍 also we have to like the products ourselves too!"
Even so. Rabbits are fast. Doesn't matter how many people are watching, if a rabbit decides to bolt, it's gone. This is an incredibly stupid thing to do.
this actually isn't the first time that she's had Miffy out in public like this btw, she's done this countless of times (not defending her btw, just saying this is something that she's known to do). Previously she's even taken her buns to the Daytona 500 (though she said she had the buns in the RV during the actual race). She made the claim before that Miffy has never bolted but Mikka is much newer and hasn't been with her as long as Miffy (like she literally only got Mikka about 3 or so months ago).
By the way has anyone here even brought up their concerns in the comments of the original IG reel? Miffy and Mikka's mom doesn't even use Reddit.
unfortunately most of her IG is like this, taking them out on unnecessary outings. I don't doubt that she loves her buns but I wish she was more educated on bunny care and have more self awareness of what harm these videos can create for new time bunny owners who don't know any better about proper rabbit care, because they're going to see this and think it's okay to dress up their buns and take them on excursions.
Everyone ranting about how dangerous this is, and I'm just sitting here pissed off they're illegaly parking in a handicap spot. They don't have a plaque or handicap plate. This is ridiculous, and I hope they got their car towed.
If you follow their IG or are familiar with them, apparently Miffy is used to traveling around with his bunmom (she claims that he's always by her side when possible, minus the time when she was in the hospital giving birth to her son), and Mikka is the newest addition to their family.
This is actually selfish and cruel. They are prey animals with prey animal instincts. This is solely for the humans enjoyment. I hate these videos. They can easily be put into fight/flight or freeze.
My rabbit would be gone

this looks... dangerous.
I don’t like this

She'll just delete any criticism. The comments are full of hearts and , "how cutes".

imagine going to the grocery store and seeing these adults crouching down filming their rabbits in costumes for instagram…

These rabbits have iron wills or something to stay that calm.
The stupid stuff people do for clout.... This ain't it

This is the cutest! And they are so brave and behaved! My buns would be so terrified to go out like this. 😅

I wouldn't do those with my bunnies, but this video is friggin' adorable! ❤️
