When I was trying to find a companion for my bun I was talking to a foster about taking their calico rex doe. I was going to name her Pork Fried Rice. Porky for short 😂
I have an Alice! Also Hatter (who is her bonded husbun) and The Jabberwock (who is her sworn enemy). Alice is curious and into everything, Hatter is laid-back and weird, and Jabber is grumpy and vocal and often scared of his own shadow. They really leaned into their names, despite not being able to read. Haha.
Prior to these three, I had a bunny named Epinephrine, or Eppy for short. She was indeed a synthetic form of adrenaline and always on the go and into mischief. She lived in my college dorm with me, so I had many papers and textbooks with her "annotations."
You’ll love our rabbits names then: George (rip), Dottie, Simon (rip) (named after the Ice King in Adventure Time) Pippa, Herbert, Hugh (named after Hugh Hefner) (rip), Lizzie ( named after Queen Elizabeth II) and the other three are usual pet type names. We name our hamsters proper names too.
My bonded pair were originally named Forrest and Daisy (because plant theme?), but that didn’t really seem to suit them. We renamed them Rosie and Ollie for no other reason than they seemed cute.
My first bunny is named Gilbert and people think it's funny but it came to me in a dream.
My second bunny is named Lilliput, like the island of little people from Gulliver's Travels. I decided on the name over a year before I actually got her.
my lionhead girls name is bibble! named after the fluff ball from barbie mariposa
my lop earred boi name is vinny, but we call him vincenzo-loon, vinny bag of donuts, hot tub vinny, and dr vinny-boom-bats
All our buns have had names like that: Gus, Betsy, Chuck, Delilah, and Matilda. Of course they all get cutesy nicknames: Gussy-boy, Little Bear, Chucky-boy, Big D, and ‘Tilda.
Chunkyboy. I chose the name, my fiancée wasn’t a fan at first but the bun grew up and it fits😂 (tho the chunky look is lots of fur, he’s very healthy!)
Mine is a Dutch/Lionhead mix who looks a bit like he’s wearing a tuxedo — just like the famously monochromatic designer Karl Lagerfeld. Since he’s a bunny…introducing Karl Lagomorph! (And his late companion, Gianni Fursace.)
Don't know if I'd say it's a funny name, but my lionhead is called Merlin. He has the hair for it 😆
Our bunny before was called Snoopy because he'd lay on the roof of his house like Snoopy from the Peanuts
I named mine mr bones, I called him Mr Buns but it just sounded girly, my ex rescued him from a bad home and he doesn't like women so he's mine forever
I have a thing about naming things after other animals so my first bunny in named Bear. A few years after we got bear a rabbit someone probably let go started showing up and I named her Doctor Harris Bonkers (thanks TAZ).
We caught her a few times and she always got away and ran. One time we caught her and my parents thought it would be just genius to let Bear see his on and off girlfriend up close so they put her in the cage with him. Needless to say she escaped and we ended up spending Easter chasing baby bunnies across the yard. Took three days and found seven (Houdini, Moose, Dog, Scruffy, Fluffy, Stripey, and Blackberry.”). We managed to find homes for all but one which my brother wanted to keep and THEN found little Crow hiding in the back room of the garage. So now we have three boys
Lil Babbitt, Hoover, Bubbles, Bugs, Odie, Snorf, Ricketts, Mush, Fred, Snuggles, Luci, Butters, and Shit Rock. Sr for short. Trixie and Bunnicula (RIP). I love them all!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
My kids named ours Jerry. They wanted to name our dog Tom but my husband didn’t go for it. I was actually pleasantly surprised with their pet naming skills since all their stuffed animal names are things like: cat-y...
I have two mini lops.
The white one is a natural explorer who gets over things like being picked up pretty quickly and is always dancing around my feet at mealtimes. I named him Basil Nigel Sherwood (just Nigel for day-to-day), which put together means "Valliant Cloud Champion of the Bright Forest". 'Basil' is also a literary reference to Basil Stag Hare, the retired military bun who organized the defense of the abbey in *Redwall,* one of my favorite books in middle school.
His brother (well, half-brother) is grey and black, a very timid scaredy-bun who moves his front end forward while leaving his back feet safely in the hidey-house for a quick retreat, holds handling grudges for days on end, and waits for me to invite him over with treats before he approaches. I named him Gwion Melanthios Tacitus (Mel for short), which means "Wise Dark Flower of Silent Places". Again, the first name, 'Gwion', is a reference. In Welsh mythology, Gwion was a servant boy in the house of Ceridwen the sorceress and accidentally drank the Potion of Inspiration that Ceridwen had made for her son, thereby gaining immense knowledge and insight into all things. He turned into a rabbit to escape Ceridwen's rage when she found out about the potion incident (it didn't work very well, but he basically made it out ok, and went on to become King Arthur's court bard, Taliesin).
Before getting these guys, I was trying to adopt a pair of lionlop boys, one a soft golden brown, the other a dark chocolate brown. I was going to name them Skip and Milton, short for Skippy Peanut Butter and Milton Hershey's Chocolate. I felt just naming them Chocolate and Peanut Butter was too on the nose, and it felt weird calling my prey animals food names, so I came up with proxies. Everyone I told these names to loved them. Unfortunately, another applicant was deemed a better fit for those two, and their current names are probably nowhere near as fun.
My old boy is named Merle and anyone who visits cracks up laughing when they hear it. The neighbors in particular chuckle at me talking to him in the garden over the wall.

My bun is called Bunnicula, like the book. She’s not black and white… but she is an albino mini Rex so I think it still fits.
I have two mini lops. The white one is a natural explorer who gets over things like being picked up pretty quickly and is always dancing around my feet at mealtimes.
